Tom Perez, chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), appeared Tuesday on the Bill Press Show and, when asked about the party’s future, he replied:
I have three kids. Two of them are daughters — one just graduated college, one who is in college. And they were both texting me about their excitement over Alexandria (Ocasio-Cortez) because she really — she represents the future of our party.
If a self-declared socialist represents the party’s future, Democrats may find themselves becoming more and more irrelevant. Is that what all Democrats really aspire to? Do 31% of citizens from the land of the free and the home of the brave really hope to live in a socialist nation?

Let’s take a look at Ocasio-Cortez’s platform:
- Medicare For All
- Housing As A Basic Right
- A Peace Economy
- Federal Jobs Guarantee
- Gun Control/Assault Weapons Ban
- Criminal Justice Reform, End Private Prisons
- Immigration Justice/Abolish ICE
- Solidarity with Puerto Rico
- Mobilizing Against Climate Change
- Clean Campaign Finance
- Higher Education, Free Trade School For All
- Women’s Rights
- Support LGBTQIA+ (What does the “+” represent? Are there some genders we’ve left out?)
- Support Seniors
- Curb Wall Street Gambling: Restore Glass Steagall
At the end of her socialist wish list, she invites supporters to become campaign volunteers:
“Democracy is Powered by Volunteers Like You”
Why doesn’t it say, “Socialism is powered by volunteers like you?”
Ocasio-Cortez’s naïveté is unmistakable. Her age and inexperience are glaring. Her platform reads like a Miss America contestant’s description of a perfect world. For starters, its implementation would bankrupt our country.
With a U.S. national debt of over $21 trillion, which climbs a little higher every day, our debt stood at approximately 105.4% (other estimates put the number as high as 107.2%) of gross national product (GDP) at the end of 2017, one of the highest in the world.
There are a few countries with a greater ratios of debt to GDP.
Japan, at slightly over 234%, has financed many stimulus projects to “jump-start” their economy over the last several decades. However, since Japanese citizens hold over 90% of the debt, at low rates of interest, it is very sustainable for the country.
Other countries with ratios higher than ours (at the end of 2017) include: Greece: 181.9%, Portugal: 125.6%, Italy: 131.45%, Lebanon: 152.85%, Yemen: 141.01%, along with many African nations such as The Gambia: 123.24%, Cape Verde: 126.03%, The Republic of the Congo: 119.07%, Eritrea: 131.24%, Sudan, 126.02% and several others. We are not in good company.
The top holders of US debt are China (5.3%) and Japan (4.8%). Although 5.3% is not a large portion, and the US Treasury has never had difficulty finding buyers for our debt (even with a rating downgrade), 5.3% of $21 trillion still represents over $1 trillion of debt owed to an unfriendly nation.
Even the partial implementation of Ocasio-Cortez’s platform items would put the US in a precarious financial situation that would ultimately threaten our national security.
But, long before that would happen, her idealistic initiatives for a “peace economy” – “bring our troops home, heal our wounds, repair our image in the world” – would probably see our mainland invaded by foreign enemies.
A thorough rebuttal of each of Ocasio-Cortez’s poorly thought out objectives could result in as many posts. Suffice it to say that it is an unworkable agenda. We can’t afford it. It’s not who we are as Americans. And I find it hard to believe that the majority of Democrats would support this platform.
The party’s “lurch to the left” is giving many Democrats pause, especially those who understand a thing or two about the US economy and national security. For example, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn) appeared on ABC’s “The Week” on Sunday and said, “We are always going to need immigration enforcement, I think we know that. We are a major country with major borders.”
Another sign of push-back from within the Democratic party is the growing traction of the “#WalkAway Campaign.” Hair stylist “Brandon Straka started this movement, which shares video stories of people who decide to dissociate themselves from liberalism.”
And finally, many more centrist Democrats will retreat from Maxine Waters’ brand of “in your face” activism. There’s a reason why President Trump wants to position her as “the face” of the Democratic party, along with Nancy Pelosi. The credibility of both women has fallen.
So, if Tom Perez envisions a socialist future for Democrats, and chooses to believe that candidates such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez represent the party’s future, it is a gift to the Republican party.

The mainland has already been ‘invaded by foreign enemies’. The nature of war changed quite a while ago. Let me give you something else to consider also…..one of the major fires started in California a couple of years back was finally tagged on some Muslim men….buried in the news…as California often does……those fires cost millions of dollars, loss of property, animals, and life…..and spread over several states….

This went on in Israel when I lived there. Muslim Israeli citizens were lighting fires all over the place. I think this has slowed down, but now we have kite jihad from Gaza, which is proving difficult to stop. I suppose we can look forward to some form of kite jihad here in the US if we don’t make some changes.

One key factor in why the Democrat Party has lurched so far to the left has been the 18-24 age demographic – which underscores just how much of a serious and potentially fatal (for America) mistake the 26th Amendment was. Especially given the amount, and level, of leftist indoctrination and radicalization of that age bloc in our schools, universities and colleges which has only gotten infinitely and exponentially worse since 1971. This alone is why there should be a drive to RAISE the minimum voting age – to at least 26 (the age Nancy Pelosi once said was the cutoff point to which young people could still keep their parents’ insurance under Obamacare).

The EU has multiple parties that DILUTE the vote. It screws them. Take Canada, Ms Trudy won with slightly LESS than 30% of the vote because the vote is always diluted down.
Libertarians, and Greens are LIBERALS. Libertarians are social liberals. The Greens worship the environment based on junk science. The Greens now embrace Islam in the EU. Many are Independent but in many states they can NOT vote in the primary. I have often thought of changing to an Independent but lack of voting in the primary, stopped me. For perspective, Ocasio-Cortes’ election victory is more a case of Crowley losing it in a poor performance. It is the same reason Eric Cantor got booted from Congress. He and his staff spent more time and money eating in steak houses than his opponent spent on the election campaign.

Dem Hikind Supporting GOP Until Schumer
Restores ‘Sanity and Honesty’ to Democrats
New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) announced Thursday he will only support Republicans until Sen. Chuck Schumer restores sanity and honesty to the Democratic Party.
In a letter published on Hikind’s Facebook page, the powerful New York lawmaker criticized Schumer over a mailer he recently received from the Senate Minority Leader highlighting “hard right attacks” — ignoring the various policy victories under President Donald Trump.
Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D, Brooklyn) said he recently received a mailer from fellow Democrat, Senator Charles Schumer asking for contributions. The letter was riddled with attacks on the “hard right” but omitted vital information. In an open letter to Schumer, Hikind filled in the blanks.
“Senator Schumer, in your letter you promise to fight for Democratic values and go on at great length to fully villainize the current administration, but you left out certain facts that my fellow Democrats, to say nothing of all Americans, should also be aware of.
“You forgot to tell us about the economy. As good as it’s been, economists expect even more growth through the end of the year. That’s very good news, Senator.
“You forgot to tell us about unemployment, which is lower than it has been in decades, while economic confidence is at a 17-year high. It’s also at a record low for minorities. That’s very good news, Senator.
“You forgot to tell us how the U.S. is beginning to emerge in energy dominance. The Department of Interior, which has led the way in cutting regulations, opened plans to lease 77 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico for oil and gas drilling, decreasing our reliance on foreign oil. That’s very good news, Senator.
“You forgot to tell us about the most remarkable relationship between the United States and our ally Israel ever. Or about moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, which you yourself applauded.
“You forgot to tell us about the successful dismantling of the Iran Deal—a deal which you yourself opposed and knew threatened the rest of the world by making it easier for Iran, the leading supporter of world terrorism, to develop nuclear weapons.
“You forgot to tell us that the Trump administration is against the harmful reverse-discrimination criteria in universities that would so badly hurt the children from hard-working Asian families. So much for the big tent, Senator.
“You forgot to tell us about a potential peace with a denuclearized North Korea.
“You forgot to tell us about tax cuts. I’m part of the middle class and now I’m getting a little extra in my paycheck. I’m happy about that and so are tens of millions of Americans, Senator.
“You ask for a contribution, but the Democratic Party—which I am a lifelong member of—is currently betraying the ideals that our party once stood for: American values. You yourself proposed that Representative Ellison head the party, but you must surely know that Ellison has stood with our nation’s leading hate monger Louis Farrakhan.
“Senator Schumer, as a fellow Democrat, I ask you to work to restore sanity and honesty to our party so I can feel good about supporting it fully. Until then, I’m afraid the Republicans have my support.”

HOLY COW! A decent, free-thinking, honest to God politician who thinks about America and her people as an elected steward of our Constitution, Laws, and America.
Between Hikind and Allen Dershowitz I think we are seeing a crack in the Demon party. Praise God!

Every Demoncrat should be forced to sit through newsreels of all the starving people and animals in Socialist and Communist countries….or, better yet….dropped out of airplanes with parachutes into those countries and let them find their own way out….by the time they get back to America (assuming they make it) they will be kissing the ground of America…..

Socialism creates the fewest oligarchs out of the highest number of unemployed. This problem was solved with the advent of Communism where they have zero unemployment because everyone works for free, in the gulag.

The Democrat party is defined by its division of the demographic in a disenfranchisement scheme that claims to be on everyones side all at once. Its underlying theme is that freedom is not worth fighting for so we need open borders, gun confiscation and a massive heavily armed police state to keep us all safe.
Our Republic is defined by its unity of the demographic, Comprised of all races and religions our core belief is that freedom is worth fighting for

Thanks to the corrupt mainstream media as well as the infiltration of the Right by “globalists”, the Party of Democratic Socialism (yes… the real Nazi party is starting to show its face in the US) is gaining support even though some liberals realize the problem. The degree of corruption enabling this reminds me of the Gotham City of the Dark Knight trilogy… so much corruption that when you think you have good people in office, they turn out to be traitors playing both sides but ultimately evil (think the current DOJ and FBI). For a while, ie before Trump but after Reagan, it didn’t seem to matter who was in office… the agenda seemed to be the same… always lurching towards socialism.
With the indoctrination of the youth along with the faithful votes from all those “undocumented” immigrants who have come from failed states, aka hell holes, the spread of this poisonous ideology seems unstoppable… unless we break this cycle—stop allowing our youth’s indoctrination by stopping the support of these indoctriversities and stopping the infiltration by people who just want free stuff who are fleeing from the governments they empowered to give them free stuff but ran out of said free stuff so they come here for free stuff they can’t get back home—the spread will only continue.

All nonsence, for the most part Dems are and will remain Dems. I’m from Chicago and the only change in the last 60 plus years was the death of the old Dems and the change of the demographics.
Talk to a Chi Dem and they still think that the place and its politics are OK.
They are so used to being on the dole that that’s all they care about.
Perhaps the old ones left may move over but I doubt it.
It would be interesting to see the demographics of those that do switch.
