Why was he released? Has he rejected his jihadi beliefs? What assurance do French authorities have that Hamza Attou will no longer be involved in jihad activity? Devout Muslims murdered 130 people in Paris, and Hamza Attou spirited Salah Abdeslam, one of the principal murderers, to safety. It took authorities four months to find him. Hamza Attou is responsible for that. No doubt while he was in prison, his jihadi beliefs were only reinforced. And now he is free again, to aid other jihadis to murder more non- Muslims. This is utter madness.

Hamza Attou, conveyor of Salah Abdeslam, is released from prison He had repatriated Salah Abdeslam to Belgium after the attacks of 13 November. Hamza Attou was released on conditions. Hamza Attou was imprisoned at the end of June 2016 in France for “concealment of criminal in relation to a terrorist organization.” He is now free, according to AFP and the Belgian media, citing the prosecutor’s office on the other side of the country. The charge of one who had escorted Salah Abdeslam to Belgium in the aftermath of the attacks of 13 November limits indeed the duration of preventive detention. France had to release him. But under conditions. “There is no longer any need for the instruction to keep him in custody. He recognized the transport and is no longer involved in the attacks themselves,” said a source familiar with the matter to AFP. Eight suspects are still detained. Pending his trial scheduled for 2020, Hamza Attou must return to his Brussels home, he would be forbidden to leave, according to the RTBF. Seven suspects arrested in connection with the investigation of the attacks in Paris and Saint-Denis are still detained in France and one in Belgium. In addition, three other suspects in the hands of Belgian justice are targeted by an arrest warrant for French magistrates.
