MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle: Trump “only blew up the Iran deal, maybe to please Sheldon Adelson”

49

The left is increasingly open in its antisemitism and acceptance of the age-old neo-Nazi meme that Israel and the Jews control U.S. foreign policy. That’s essentially what MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle is saying here: Sheldon Adelson says “Jump,” and Trump says “How high?” That must be it: shadowy control by rich Jews. The possibility that the Iran nuclear deal was a disaster that empowered a rogue regime doesn’t ever enter their minds at MSNBC. Barack Obama said it was a good deal, so Stephanie Ruhle thinks it must be. Trump dislikes it, so Ruhle loves it. That’s MSNBC. That’s the establishment media.

“MSNBC’s Ruhle Suggests Trump ‘Blew Up’ Iran Deal to ‘Please’ Wealthy Israel Supporter,” by Andrew Kugle, Washington Free Beacon, May 10, 2018 (thanks to Todd):

Story continues below advertisement

MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle suggested on Thursday that President Donald Trump withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal to “please” wealthy Republican donor and avid Israel supporter Sheldon Adelson.

“He only blew up the Iran deal because that came from Obama,” Sirius radio host Mark Thompson said.

“I don’t know, he only blew up the Iran deal, maybe to please Sheldon Adelson,” Ruhle suggested.

Ruhle’s comments came during a MSNBC panel that was often critical of the president and his administration. Throughout the discussion, members of the panel claimed Trump treats matters of national security as a “reality show,” he nominated a “torturer-in-chief” to be the CIA director, and he instigated military action between Iran and Israel.

Foreign affairs analyst Bobby Gosh [sic] said not to understate the significance of two meetings that have occurred between Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, especially after the release of three Americans help captive in North Korea.

“The way I see it, he released these people after the meetings. Two meetings with Pompeo. This has never happened before. Let’s not understate the importance of the two visits Pompeo made,” Gosh [sic] said. “He, as serving director of the CIA and the serving secretary of state of the United States, has gone to Pyongyang and shaken hands with Kim Jong-Un. Never happened before.”

Madeline Albright, secretary of state under President Bill Clinton, did meet with Kim Jong Un’s father, Kim Jong Il, back in 2000. However, discussions deteriorated in the subsequent years.

Ruhle called the Trump administration’s actions a “huge win” for the North Korean leader but acknowledged the Americans would not have been released without Pompeo’s meetings.

“This is a huge win for Kim Jong-Un to say ‘here I am on the world stage mano a mano with the United States,'” Ruhle said. “If Pompeo had not had those meetings, we wouldn’t have these three Americans home.”

Thompson called Trump and Kim “two crazy leaders” who are using each other.

“These are two crazy leaders using each other for legitimacy. Kim Jong Un is seeing his own legitimacy. Trump is also trying to cover up from all of his other scandals,” Thompson said. “There is no good faith in us thinking Trump is some peacemaker.”…

This is a story not even worth repeating. Ruhle is a typical progressive rube that spews nothing but ignorance because of her inability to grasp the concept of “long-term consequences” from failed diplomacy.

But Pamela’s point, as I understand it, is to point out an anti-Semitic undertone to Ruhle’s comments. I sometimes think Jews see anti-Semitism where there is none, but Ruhle’s comments certainly do feed the trope that Trump’s policy are the product of “shadowy control by rich Jews”, and that is a theme that is a product of, and that fuels, anti-Semitism.

Tangentially related, I’m not sure it was a great idea of appoint your Jewish son-in-law, who had no foreign policy expertise (and who has some skeletons in his closet, as indicated by his difficulty gaining a high-level security clearance) to a sensitive position in the administration.

I’m sure it was fun breaking out the word “tangentially”. The word implies that it needn’t be followed by “related”. In the first paragraph you attempt to dispel a stereotype and in the second you cast aspersions on someone based on the media narrative. What skeletons? Because he has done business globally. I’ve got no dog in the hunt but at least Kushner has been involved in multi-million dollar negotiations, transactions, and contracts unlike the 93% of the B Hussein administration who were a bunch of college elites with no expertise in anything but studying people who have actually done something.

Liatris Spicata

in the second you cast aspersions on someone based on the media narrative.

Kushner’s lack of foreign policy background, and his difficulty in gaining a high level clearance that virtually all top negotiators have, are hardly “based on the media narrative”. And yes, forgetting to disclose your $25 million squirreled away, along with some other failures to disclose, is guaranteed to be of interest to the clearance folks.

Would it be convenient for you to respond to what I said, and not invent your own narrative of my comment? Facts do have a way in intruding into your smarmy conspiracy laced diatribe.

Can I respond?

I don’t see the significance, tangential or otherwise, to the fact that Jared Kushner is Jewish.

This is not to suggest that Jared (and his wife) are not irritating – they are, but Trump was impressed with Jared and obviously has a soft spot for Ivanka.

I think everyone, including the president, views the whole Jared/Ivanka thing as an unforced error.

@liatrisspicata:disqus – “I sometimes think Jews see anti-Semitism where there is none”

I think Democrats see racism where there is none, and they do it constantly. Funny how you can say the Jews see too much Antisemitism when the left is the WORST about calling EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE A RACIST..

Jack-

While I agree with you that Democrats frequently see racism when there is none, that is irrelevant to this particular thread. What I see as a Jewish tendency to see anti-Semitism is not irrelevant to this thread. So there is nothing “funny” about my remarking on the latter, while, for the purposes of this discussion, ignoring the former. In fact, the former would be irrelevant here, making me wonder why you think it worthy of comment in the present context.

That’s not anti-Semitism at all though. Consider Adelson’s investments in Israel. Pamela Geller is REACHING! Dig deep and one will likely find energy investments in Israel with Adelson (he already has media investments) that mean he personally gains.

That was a ridiculous comment, even for the likes of you, little aemoreira1981. Whether someone has investments, anywhere, or not … has nothing to do with attempting to tie an administration’s decisions to such. If obimbo’s vehicle uses gasoline, he is aiding Putin, as Putin has huge holdings in oil and gas. Even you, little “pretend lawyer” cannot be THAT stupid, can you?

It had nothing to do with the fact that Trump said over and over for a YEAR during the campaign that he would pull out of the bad Iran deal.

Maybe the left needs to deal with the fact that Obama was too pathetic to get Congress to vote and make it a treaty. I don’t care if Congress wouldn’t go along with his horrible deal, that should have been a hint that it wasn’t good and should be strengthened. In the end Obama went around congress and that’s why the deal was scuttled.

If you democrats don’t like it then you should actually follow the treat procedures.

The Muslim Marxist Obama went “around Congress” hundreds of times….that is a fact. His whole regime and time was spent going through back doors, executive orders, and around congress…..who needs to be blamed for this is THE CONGRESS. We had both houses and still Obama RULED.

Immoral Iran Deal
Immoral Iran Deal

The immoral Iran deal gave the world’s biggest sponsor of terrorism millions of dollars to continue funding its nuclear program.

Iran gives money from the Iran deal to Assad’s brutal regime in Syria as it kills women and children.

Iran is building bases in Syria to attack and destroy Israel as it has openly stated many times. Israel has every right to defend herself and her citizens and has launched strikes against these bases in Syria.

The United States and Israel must be vigilant regarding Iran.

Bunch of dummies. Stephanie Ruhle’s IQ is room temperature.

G-d Bless Israel and President Trump.

Obama was an agent of the Iranian mullahs from the moment he began running for President. I am sure as I am sitting here that they did exactly what the Left has been yapping about Trump and Russia. We saw how he paid them back for their helping him get into the White House, in spades: His not lifting a finger during the “Persian Spring” of 2009 and then sitting back and doing nothing while the regime slaughtered those who took part in the demonstrations; his funneling billions to aid and abet their nefarious agenda; the treasonous nuke deal itself; and his spiking DEA investigations into Hezbollah drug-running and money-laundering.

The State Department is filled with career Arabists, whether Obama-appointed or not. And especially during his illegitimate Presidency, CAIR and other Muslim lobbyists controlled foreign policy towards the Middle East. That is irrefutable fact.

You don’t understand….most of their advertisers pay for and promote what she says….take Kellogg’s for instance….Kellogg’s upper corporate gave one million dollars to Black Live Matter…..a militant group that advocates the killing of law enforcement…they’ve given millions to SPCL who fund every anti-american thing that comes down the pike…which is also funded by Soros…Just like Antifa and BLM….
They -like their Globalist partners – like what she’s doing…..otherwise they wouldn’t do it because they wouldn’t get the billions to do it….

That’s why we need to be more mindful of what products we buy and stop doing it…..Kellogg’s took a big hit after it got out they fund BLM…they had to close some of their plants……but it did not stop them one bit for continuing to fund issues that are anti-American….which proves conclusively they all have some collective mental illness…..and the word “collective” points to Communism and Socialism….because it’s all about the “collective”….

How do they live with it, the overbearing will to hate? In an attempt to yet overturn Nov 2016’s election, day in, day out upon every morning’s awakening, how can I get this guy and get his family and his associates? What can we do to get him thrown out or perhaps resign under our relentless pressure? The wicked heart of such fails to comprehend the supernatural hand of God Almighty upon President Trump and VP Pence et al. There’s just no other explanation as to how a man could undergo such treatment without simply throwing in the towel and returning to a former life of ease and peace and prosperity. I submit, the great I AM has placed a hedge round about him and largely base such upon the Abrahamic promise of old regarding the treatment of Israel. And America has indeed fully restored her relationship and support of the Holy Land, God’s land of old. This, in concert with the fact that both Trump and Pence are Christians…

Anyone with rudimentary intelligence and knowledge can see the transformational presidency of Donald Trump unfolding, tackling longstanding problems like no other administration has….whether republican or demorat. It is too bad these prejudiced and mean spirited people cannot put aside their blinders. But they have no grounded values. They are like tumble weed rolling whichever way the wind tells them to blow, and with the same degree of insight. Pray for these pitiful people.
