One of the leading voices silenced by the left-wing authoritarians was John Guandolo. GR readers are long familiar with Mr. Guandolo’s work. He spoke at the CUNY protest I organized against sharia Jew hater Linda Sarsour. John Guandolo is president and founder of Understanding the Threat. He is a Naval Academy graduate, a combat veteran Marine officer, a former FBI special agent who created the first government training on the Muslim Brotherhood and its U.S. operations, and was recruited by the Department of Defense to provide strategic analysis regarding these threats.

Antifa And The SPLC Successfully Shut Down Four Anti-Islam Conferences
Antifa groups used information from the Southern Poverty Law Center to successfully shut down four conferences on the threat of Islam scheduled in Wisconsin and Minnesota last weekend.
The hotels slated for the events were flooded with threatening calls, and the organizers voluntarily canceled one of the events following numerous warnings that it would not be safe. A fifth conference in Des Moines, Iowa carried on in defiance, despite leftists showing up to disrupt the proceedings.
The conferences were hosted by Worldview Weekend, a conservative Christian organization that produces radio and TV shows and sponsors events nationwide. The SPLC posted the locations for these venues, after which Antifa groups urged their members through social media to attend events and swamp the venues with threatening calls and messages.
According to Worldview CEO Brannon Howse, a state trooper even visited the Minneapolis hotel where an event was planned for Sunday. He said the police were concerned about conference security and the organizer should add more police. With the financial losses from other canceled events, Howse said they could not afford to provide more security than those already hired, and cancelled that last event out of safety concerns.
The conferences sought to expose how leftists supported by George Soros, the John Templeton Foundation and other donors are intimidating America into silence by labeling anyone who exposes them as “racists,” “Islamophobes” and “white supremacists.” An event last fall featuring this author and DHS whistleblower Philip Haney was canceled by the venue following a similar campaign from Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) operatives. A second event in Illinois went on despite threatening calls to the organizer, her employer and the event location.
One of the conference speakers, John Guandolo, is listed on an SPLC list of “anti-Muslim extremists.” Guandolo is president and founder of Understanding the Threat. He is a Naval Academy graduate, a combat veteran Marine officer, a former FBI special agent who created the first government trainings on the Muslim Brotherhood and its U.S. operations, and was recruited by the Department of Defense to provide strategic analysis regarding these threats.
According to Guandolo, UTT is the only organization that provides tools for leaders, elected officials and law enforcement to map out and investigate jihadi networks. “I teach and train about the things that energize the jihadis (Sharia), and the networks that support jihad and the jihadis. This is primarily the Muslim Brotherhood, of which CAIR, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror financing trial, is a prominent part. The Muslims themselves say they are motivated by Sharia (Islamic law),” he said.
The following are a few of the Antifa Facebook postings that targeted the events in reaction to SPLC’s announcement:
The general manager at the Radisson Hotel Green Bay, who was referenced in the “Red & Black Anarchists” post, sent the following email notifying Howse that he was canceling that event two days before it was to occur:
Good afternoon Brannon,
I wanted to inform you that we will be cancelling your event that is scheduled for this Saturday. … the hotel has received numerous phone calls from the community opposing this event and threatening to protest. We need to ensure that the safety of our guests come first so with that in mind, we will be cancelling this event. I left you a voicemail as well.

Congratulations were not limited to Antifa groups. For example, below is the text of an email sent out by a group called Wisdom Wisconsin that also references the SPLC:
Howse told WHO-TV, the NBC affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa, “If you read [the Quran] for yourself, you’ll see what the issues are. The disrespect for women. The disrespect for the Jewish people. The disrespect for Christians. The disrespect for freedom of speech.”
Among other things, protesters claim that Howse is just out to make money. But Howse said events like these cost tens of thousands of dollars to put together, but are free to the public.
“This is a public service provided to American citizens because we are concerned for the future of America,” Howse told The Daily Caller. “We pay the costs for renting the facilities, advertising the events in local markets, printing flyers, bringing in speakers — including airfare, car rental, hotel, speaker fees and other expenses — and charge nothing for the events. We do try to recoup some of these costs through book sales and voluntary donations, but it is never enough.”
According to Howse, a combined total of at least 3,500 people had registered for the four canceled events: more than 1,500 in Minneapolis and another 2,500 in the three Wisconsin sites. The cancellation of these events cost well over $60,000, Howse said.
“And that doesn’t include lost ad revenues and other opportunity costs,” he told TheDC. “We promoted these events for the past six months, including 40,000 mailings in December and another 40,000 in January, and used up valuable staff time that could have been spent on other endeavors.”
The hotel manager at the Des Moines event told TheDC that the hotel does not have a litmus test for events. “We rent facilities to groups with a wide variety of opinions and interests across the spectrum politically, philosophically and otherwise. Our goal is to see that each of them receive the highest quality of service we can provide,” he said.
The manager said that protesters showed up and did all they could to disrupt the proceedings without pushing it far enough to get thrown out by police. Howse said that when he handed out brochures intended for the audience, one protester snatched the whole stack and put it in his backpack. He was forced to return the brochures when approached by the police. These attendees were described as “rude and intimidating.”
One person who did get asked to leave was Jack Gunnar Schuler, a local high school teacher. According to the Des Moines Register, Schuler is a transgender activist who was born a woman named Elyse, but since April of 2016 now identifies as a man. He also claims to have been a Marine, but his Facebook profile photo shows him wearing an Army T-shirt — something a Marine is very unlikely to do.
Schuler had been walking around the event snapping photos of everyone in attendance, posting more than two dozen of them on Facebook, with disparaging comments about the attendees.
Activists associated with Antifa often use this strategy to publicly intimidate, shame and threaten their political opponents.
Schuler walked up to Guandolo and said, “I think you’re a f**king disgrace. You’re an absolute disgrace to the Corps and the uniform.”
Schuler was immediately escorted out by police. He videoed the whole encounter. It has since been scrubbed from his Facebook site, but you can watch it here (language warning).
Howse was suspicious of Schuler and asked if he was carrying a gun. Shuler snapped a picture of Howse and posted it on Facebook with the comment, “This guy asked me if I had a gun in my bag. Remember kids. The second amendment is only for white people to use against brown people.”
Two prominent Muslims came to witness the event: CAIR-Iowa chapter president Abshir Omar and State Rep. Ako Abdul-Samad. Omar is a Somali Muslim refugee and member of the Democratic Socialists of America who was supported by CAIR in his unsuccessful 2016 bid for Des Moines City Council. Abdul-Samad has been praised by CAIR, and is also a current member of the Black Panther Party’s Des Moines chapter.
Samad was critical of the event’s message, telling WHO TV that the term “jihad” is misunderstood. “The Jihad that we talk about in the Quran, prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said very clearly that the Jihad is the Jihad of an-Nafs, which means the Jihad of self. You’re [sic] Jihad is within you and every religion has a Jihad.”
Asked for a response by WHO TV, Guandolo said, “That’s absolutely not true. In Islam, there’s only one legal definition for Jihad, and that’s warfare against non-Muslims.”
Shahram Hadian, a former Muslim and now Christian apologist who heads the Truth In Love project, was slated to speak at a number of the canceled events. He reacted strongly in a video about the cancellations posted on Saturday:
“Who shut us down folks? The Islamo-Marxist-Fascist oppressors in this nation, the same groups that we’ve been traveling around this nation warning you about…. How did that happen? It started with CAIR… the front group for the Muslim Brotherhood. Then they’ve joined with the Southern Poverty Law Center… Then they got Antifa involved… and we know their M.O. – they’re domestic terrorists… If you think we are living in a free nation any more… that this is the land of the free and home of the brave, we better wake up soon. Religious liberty, the right of assembly, the right of our speech, is gone. This is the M.O. now. This is the tactic they are using to shut us down.”
Howse broadcast an hour-long live special Sunday night to describe what happened and the issues that would have been covered in these events.
He said he is considering legal action, among other options, and that he will also be releasing a movie this fall recounting this weekend’s events and many others he has witnessed over the last 12 months.
“The things that are happening represent an existential threat to our rights as Americans and our very way of life,” he said.

This is a sad read for me because it proves that a threat of public disorder by ANTIFA over political discourse they don’t like that’s proved so successful in Europe is now successful in America too.
IMHO what it boils down to is this, organise your own security if the plod refuse to, get in the local chapter of the Hells Angels to help out or fold your tents and go home defeated.
Yes some of you have a gun, but in a public order situation at a political meeting you cannot draw or use one.

I am perplexed as to why conservatives do not make if very dangerous for one antifa individual to even show their face at an event. It has been shown that these members of antifa are cowards. If any violent backlash happens, they run. It is time for that to happen. We are not protecting our families and our rights if we do not physically fight these bastards.

I keep having this delicious daydream that conservatives and freedom lovers go to their meetings and when Antifa shows up they are sprayed with a gas that not only blinds them, but makes them impotent for life….or, a paralyzing agent that knocks them out for hours so the cops have time to get there and load them on vans for charging them and putting them in cells….

Isn’t making treats of violence a criminal offense? And can’t these phone calls be traced and the makers arrested? Unconstitutional. These “organizations” are terrorists. They should not have given in to these threats but instead armed themselves and had more security. We have to stop this blatant attacks on our Constitutional rights.

same here in canada only every politician, government, court, human rights commission, media is on board with these terrorists. Funny, I have been calling “antifa’ terrorists from day one. Good to see others see them as they are as well. What is the difference between one terrorist group and another other than here in canada, both are free to break the laws, terrorize and remain free to continue while all law enforcement , governments and of course courts remain silent!! We here in canada or what is left of it , are facing many terrorist groups and the sad fact is we have no protection from any of them and in fact reward and pay them for their acts of terrorism. The U. S. is the only country I believe can fight this and will be the only western country which will survive but you and your governments have to stop it now!! Sadly , we canadians have no hope with our own terrorist /tyrant and his islamic terrorist government at the helm breaking every law in the land to ensure they are never voted out! Trump stands in the breach today but the threat obviously is only in the background and will reassert itself with any chance it gets. Perhaps someone with some legalese could comment on whether or not the SPLC violated any laws related to inciting a riot, but surely some of these Antifa zealots could be arrested for same.
Are there not laws protecting the exercising of ones rights to freedom of expression without the fear of harm ( actual harm, not hurt feelings bs ), or is the ” rule of law ” becoming a paper tiger only. I mean if you can smash equipment that has been subpoenaed as evidence and all that is done is a slight reprimand because you’re wealthy and powerful, or orchestrate a financial collapse that decimates countless families and throws your country into chaos and no one is arrested because they’re just too important, or wire buildings with demolition explosives and then bring them down killing thousands telling everyone to ignore glaring instances of physics in action and that a cave dweller outwitted the entire intelligence apparatus of the most advanced nation on earth… I guess I’m just getting sick and tired of the lies and the lawlessness and the corruption. America, above all, is better than that, it must be better than that, because there are wolves at her door and want only to tear her apart. Does Liberty’s currency always have to be blood ? I know that limiting free speech is a very big step towards the abyss, but is there something so fundamentally wrong with us that working it out without violence is beyond us. I see protesters screaming, committing vandalism and physical assaults against people, unwilling to debate issues, unwilling to even let a different view point be spoken. Have we learned nothing from our past. Violence of this sort should have no place in America and the full weight of the law needs to be brought to bear against it. Liberties have come with a high cost and must be protected above all else or our greatness will be no more.

Yes. Are the police ” professionals ” ? Did they not all take an oath to uphold the law. Do we not collectively give these oaths a place of high importance in our society. You hear of police forces in 2nd and 3thrd world countries being run like a private little army or mafia doing the bidding of their masters who are just as corrupt. Being made to stand down in CA. or in Charlotte by some ” master “, or being hounded out of the force in the UK because you’re critical of police response to grooming gangs – is it any better than a shake down to avoid jail time in some sh**hole country. They don’t represent ” law enforcement “, they are reduced to tools serving the latest whim of whomever is in charge – ” To Serve and Protect ” who – lawbreakers and criminals ? I don’t mean to disparage all in the force because that would be inaccurate and unfair but what becomes of your integrity when you look the other way. The UK police are for the most part a sham, and a fraud, and I hope that doesn’t happen here more than it already has.
In Canada a few years back, Toronto hosted the G20 and there were about 40 cops who took off their badges but not their uniforms and a few of those beat protesters who ” got out of line “. Some comments from the public supported them saying that the protesters deserved it even though the details were unavailable. I believe one cop was disciplined and a claim by one protester was settled. There are many conclusions one could draw from this and caution would be needed for everyone of them – police acting independently to uphold the law – police acting like a gang of thugs and abusing their powers. The police had a clear mandate to maintain order so why some felt like they had to skirt the norm I think reflects more the latter, but I wasn’t there. Can’t help but think though what a difference it might make if a few cops took that oath at face value and considered it their duty

The level of stupidity on the Left is mind numbing, and the level of stupidity in the trans community is an order of magnitude beyond that. What can you say when you see such complete idiocy as demonstrated by a person like Jack Gunnar Schuler? First you’ve got political activist transgenders who bitterly complain about the oppressiveness of society’s “cis normative” gender roles (that means men who look like men and women who look like women), then you have a person like Jack, born in a female body, who has dedicated her life to looking and acting like a dude and transitioning to become male, IOW trying to become a cis male. It’s pathetic but no wonder such a brain dead individual would be advocating for Islam and all the intolerance that Islamic traditions bring to both homosexuals and transgenders. I attribute the problem to someone who is deeply confused about themselves and about life in general. And his Facebook page indicates someone who is nasty and vicious on top of that.
What’s harder for me to comprehend is the willful ignorance of politicians like this guy, Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian, who has no problem shilling for Islam. Since this is how they operate, we can use the knowledge to hit them with a good hard sting operation. It will need an amenable venue, some sympathetic cops, and some means of sorting out the Antifa/SPLC spies from the genuine interested attendees. Ms. Geller, would you like to contact me privately?

I have been trying to get the message across to canadians here in canada that we must shut off the taps (pay no more taxes) and this will bring down mohammed trudeau and his terrorist government. However, canadians refuse to do this while hoping someone or some other army will come save them. Well, NO ONE IS COMING !! We have no allies because of trudeau and our military – what is left of it, is overseas protecting and serving islam on trudeaus orders! The toughest part is trying to find an appropriate place to have an event. Most places are businesses that have future broad ranging styles of events that take place there. Also most have other things in the vicinity that could end up with collateral damage, or even places to infiltrate from. One good place that I know of renting a space has an ongoing business connected with it. It isn’t like you can do this out in some open field, because you want people to come, have a sound and recording system, and interaction with others in a productive way. Now a lot of people are fed up enough that they will come, regardless of safety concerns, but the concerns of others that are just in the vicinity is the problem. Also, if it is at a place that decides to put it on, it becomes a target in the future, just because the owners allowed it to happen there. John’s programs last from 4 hours to 3 days depending on the target audience. Coming up with a location is the problem. If a good location could be found, then trouble makers can be arrested, and then deported, providing none of them brought bombs or weapons. Once arrested and confessions of finding out they used SPLC info, then they also are implicated. There’s ways of doing this, but nobody is really pissed off enough yet to take the measures necessary. People keep saying well you can’t do this and you cant do that. When angry enough you find a way, legal, lawful, or other.

Could not agree more. And then we need to start making it very difficult for SPLC and other traitorous terror groups to even exist. Make it difficult for them to gather at any building. Why is it that there are no organized efforts to rally and block entry to any of their offices? There should be signs carried and flyers distributed that communicate what a vile organization and its people are.

It is time we had some highly descriptive labels of our own to nail on these violent evil leftists instead of just defending ourselves and caving in to them whenever they use the above labels to neutralise anyone who dares to voice an opposing opinion (and they are doing it with great effectiveness). It is time to stop being on the defensive and become strongly proactive. Maybe someone can come up with a couple of super effective countering labels.

The “splc” MUST be labeled a HATE group or TERRORIST organization and prosecuted every time they INTERFERE with any LEGAL gathering organization or person with whom they HATE.
I read that the “antifa organization/group” was already declared a TERRORIST organization/group and was SUPPOSED to be prosecuted for ASSAULTING people, BATTERING people and DESTRUCTION of private property.
