On September 17, 2001, six days after the 9/11 jihad attacks, President George W. Bush made one of the biggest mistakes any President has ever made.
Bush appeared at the Islamic Center of Washington, D.C., in the company of several prominent Muslim leaders, and said:

These acts of violence against innocents violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith. And it’s important for my fellow Americans to understand that.
The English translation is not as eloquent as the original Arabic, but let me quote from the Koran, itself: In the long run, evil in the extreme will be the end of those who do evil. For that they rejected the signs of Allah and held them up to ridicule.
The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don’t represent peace. They represent evil and war.
When we think of Islam we think of a faith that brings comfort to a billion people around the world. Billions of people find comfort and solace and peace. And that’s made brothers and sisters out of every race—out of every race.
And as Americans still searched the smoking ruins of the World Trade Center for the remains of their loved ones, President Bush cautioned Americans against thinking ill of Muslims, as if the 9/11 attacks had been perpetrated by Americans targeting Muslims:
America counts millions of Muslims amongst our citizens, and Muslims make an incredibly valuable contribution to our country. Muslims are doctors, lawyers, law professors, members of the military, entrepreneurs, shopkeepers, moms and dads. And they need to be treated with respect. In our anger and emotion, our fellow Americans must treat each other with respect.
Women who cover their heads in this country must feel comfortable going outside their homes. Moms who wear cover must be not intimidated in America. That’s not the America I know. That’s not the America I value.
I’ve been told that some fear to leave; some don’t want to go shopping for their families; some don’t want to go about their ordinary daily routines because, by wearing cover, they’re afraid they’ll be intimidated. That should not and that will not stand in America.
Those who feel like they can intimidate our fellow citizens to take out their anger don’t represent the best of America, they represent the worst of humankind, and they should be ashamed of that kind of behavior.
This is a great country. It’s a great country because we share the same values of respect and dignity and human worth. And it is my honor to be meeting with leaders who feel just the same way I do. They’re outraged, they’re sad. They love America just as much as I do.
Muslims were not at that time being subjected to wholesale vigilante attacks in the United States, at that time or at any point subsequently. This speech was an exercise in vassalage that would have made the late-fourteenth- and early-fifteenth-century Byzantine emperors ashamed, yet Bush was by no means alone. Political leaders all over the West echoed his words about Islam’s being a religion of peace, having nothing to do with terrorism. After September 11, this became a commonplace of the Western political discourse, rejected only by a small minority, who were quickly stigmatized as cranks.
All these years later, it is clear: Bush’s speech set the pattern. After every jihad attack, non-Muslim leaders have followed his example, making it their highest priority to affirm that Islam is peace and that Muslims are victims. Bush deformed the West’s response to the resurgent jihad, and poisoned the public discourse so that attempts to discuss this problem honestly are consigned to the realms of “Islamophobia” and condemned by all right-thinking people.
The harm Bush did became newly clear to me as I recently finished my latest book. I wrote The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS mostly chronologically, starting with Muhammad’s conquests in Arabia and moving forward. It’s a bloody history, and one indelible impression one gets from proceeding through the centuries of jihad warfare is of the persistence of the jihadis. They never give up, they never give in, and they never take any setback, no matter how devastating, as decisive. They keep coming, and have kept coming at non-Muslims, from Spain to India and elsewhere, as I show in the book, without respite, without reprieve, without reform.
The last chapter of The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS deals with jihad in the twenty-first century, and opens with 9/11. After having written the story of nearly fourteen hundred years of relentless jihad warfare, Bush’s “Islam is peace” speech at the Islamic Center of Washington, D.C. six days after 9/11 jolted me as it never had previously. Reading Bush’s speech after going through the details of fourteen centuries of jihad against non-Muslims made the speech appear much more startlingly fatuous and self-defeating than it already had even to me. Bush’s suicidal willful ignorance, coming after so much jihad warfare, so many ruined lives, so much bloodshed — it hit me with a wallop.
This book establishes definitively why the West’s entire approach to the global jihad threat since 9/11 has been so wrongheaded and is leading us to political, cultural, and societal disaster. I’ve been trying to sound the alarm on this for many years now, while the moneyed forces of the “Islamophobia” hysteria industry have won the day and marginalized those of us who have been telling the truth about what is happening.
The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS is my Hail-Mary pass, my last effort to try to show people the nature and magnitude of the threat we face. Bush’s speech is just one of many missteps and mistakes made by leaders throughout history when faced with the jihad force. My hope is that if this history is more widely known, and those missteps and mistakes highlighted and explained, maybe some people will wake up to what is happening before it is too late.
That so many people don’t know what is happening now is Bush’s most enduring, and most damaging, legacy.

He was not “misinformed”…..you need to study the history of the Bush generations going back to the great grandfather who was the banker for Hitler….who made deals with the Muslims….until you know that history you will never understand how entrenched the Bushs are with the Middle Eastern potentates and the oil that binds them together…..there was no misunderstanding whatsoever….

What I find amazing here is that people still attribute the Bush attitude towards Islam as “a mistake” or the product of ignorance or stupidity. The Bush clan, like the rest of the GOPe are “progressives” pushing for the one-world UN socialist ideal, of which Islam is to provide the binding glue.

You might also want to go on Amazon and get Michael Youseff’s book: JESUS, JIHAD, AND PEACE. Michael is a former ME Muslim who converted to Christianity and came to America….where he founded THE CHURCH OF THE APOSTLES in Georgia.
He will tell you things going on in our government thanks to the Bushs and Obama that will make your hair stand on end…..
He also tells us how our banks are paying a “tithe” to Muslims for the privilege of doing business with them….no doubt those expenditures are passed along to us….it does no good to research your individual banks because most are owned by “holding companies”….you have to be an excellent researcher to get back to the root of ownership of banks…..also, I remember from a long time ago that the Saudis have a large interest in Citi-bank and Citi-group. I stopped my account with them a long time ago….

Hi ladywarrior, regarding “Tithes to Muslims” from banks, it is more along the line of what is called “Community Reinvestment” which banks are “strongly encouraged” by Federal Regulators to participate in as a “Give Back” to the communities in which they do business. In this particular instance, if a community is highly populated Muslim, banks in that area would “donate” financial support and/or volunteer help as a “good will” gesture on the part of the financial institution and, of course, that Muslim community benefits. However, it applies to any community regardless of ethnic/racial/religious demographic. The Fed Regs have a tight control in requiring banks to use some of their profits to “give back” to the community. Makes no difference what the population make-up consists of. Now, it is possible that this is what Michael Yousef is referring to regarding “Titnes.” If you personally know any bank officer, he/she may be able to explain on this one.

I also remember the Clintons sending out Janet Reno to threaten banks if they didn’t make ill-advised loans to people who couldn’t afford them……ergo the housing crisis and crash…..90% of it loans banks were forced to make to people who couldn’t afford them….

G.W. Bush ALSO SAID “I believe we worship the same god.”: Another deception and falsehood from the former president of the United States. The FACT is that Allah is NOT the same God of the Judeo-Christian faith. Here are just a few points of comparison.
Actually, Al’lah in Arabic means “the god”. It referred to the deity of the Quraysh tribe of which Muhammad belonged and some believe it was Hubal, or moon god, worshipped in ancient times. Also, Muhammad
never personally received his “revelations” directly from God as in the case of the True Prophets in the Bible. Instead, Muhammad encountered a “spirit being” in a dark cave and claimed it was “Jibreel”,

When you read the descriptions of Al’lah, as written in the Quran and Ahadith, and compare them to the God described in the Old & New Testaments, it will then be evident that the Islamic deity is NOT Yahweh. 1.) Yahweh NEVER commanded His angels to bow down prostrate to Adam.

2.) Yahweh NEVER authorized mankind to honor and kiss a stone. (Ka’ba)
Muhammad Did and Muslims still follow his tradition to this day.
3.)Yahweh NEVER authorized men to beat their wives.

4.) Yahweh NEVER authorized His prophets to have multiple wives- as many as the prophet desired, nor did Yahweh authorize men to have up to four wives.
Al’lah Did: Qur’an: (033.050) (004.003)
5.) Yahweh NEVER promised a “paradise” filled with dark-eyed voluptuous women (virgins) as a “reward” to the “righteous Muslim.”

6: Yahweh NEVER said that women were second-class citizens and comprised the greatest amount of residents in hell.
Muhammad Did: (Sahih Bukhari: Vol. 7, Book 62, No. 126)
Conclusion:
Muslims do not believe in the same God as the Holy Bible.

Only an imbecile or a liar would equate islam with Christianity. The Bible ( New Testament ) is devoted to love and forgiveness for all, even your enemies. The quran has about 150 verses advocating for some kind of hateful act against non-muslems, and when contrasting Jesus and muhammed, the difference becomes even more glaring. Let’s look at the score board for clarification – muhammed killed ( hundreds if not thousands ), raped and ordered the raping of countless women, pillaged and stole over and over again, and last but not least, was an active pedophile and endorsed such behaviour from his followers, and over the centuries, his ” religion of peace ” has turned those numbers into millions. Jesus killed – 0, raped or advocated rape – 0, stole robbed or pillaged – 0, and said some pretty threatening things to anyone who would harm a child. A murdering warlord and an ordinary man who died of poisoning and rotted in his grave, or a peace loving Son of God who sacrificed himself so that all might live, rose from the grave and ascended to Heaven, and offers salvation to all who will accept it. The comparison is like light to darkness or more aptly like life to death. Bush was/is an a**hole, and Spencer is right on the money to put this pos in the spotlight.

Unfortunately, Josara, there are many Interfaith Organizations and churches in America who have bought into the lie that Muslims believe in the same God. This is another tactic being used by the Muslim Brotherhood and associates like the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) to promote that false narrative. Many folks in Christian and Jewish congregations are being deceived and many politicians have sold out America and are submitting to the whim of Islamic influence groups.

Amen to that and that is exactly what is happening! By the way, be aware of a national campaign being implemented by an Interfaith group called “Shoulder to Shoulder Campaign” that works very closely with Muslim organizations. They are planning to post “Love Your Muslim Neighbor” and “Love Thy Neighbor” signs throughout communities during the upcoming Ramadan period: May 16-June 15, 2018, titled The United States of Love Over Hate: A Ramadan Supper Series.
Another form of blatant deception since the Quran does not teach the concept of “Love Your Neighbor.” People need to be aware that the Quran calls for Allah to destroy the Jews and Christians, as being preached in mosques in the U.S., Canada and Europe.

I have not read Mr. Spencer’s book, but it appears from this article that he ignores the history of the Bush family…..GHW Bush’s grandfather was the banker for Hitler….Hitler made deals with the Muslims to help him wipe out all non-whites and Jews across Europe.
The entire Bush family and their minions have been in bed with -and business with -the nation of Islam since before most of us were alive. Oil and banking binds them together like glue.
GW Bush’s college roommate was a Saudi Prince….I remember that and him talking about it….now you can’t find anything on the internet about who that prince was…..since 9/11.
I not only thank God each day that Jebbito Bush did not become President…between that family’s connect to the Muslims and Jebbito’s love of the Mexicans…..we would be toast right now….
What has rarely been discussed is directly after the attack of 9/11 all planes were grounded…..including Papa Bush’s plane. However, 2 planes were allowed to take off and leave the country….one in NY loaded down with the Saudi royal family…..the other one from Florida, also loaded down with the Saudi royal family…yet 17 of the 9/11 attackers were Saudis…..

George W Bush lied when he said Islam is a religion of peace. He should have said Islam is a 1400 year long Muslim against Muslim ideological weapon of mass destruction. When Muslims aren’t killing each other they are trying to kill us. This must stop. America will bring the perpetrators of 9/11 to justice, but we will also downgrade Islam from the protected status of religion to institutionalized human rights violating ideology. If Muslims are offended by this change, they can prove we are wrong if they will stop hating each other and stop killing each other…
