But an imam in Virginia — in the United States! — has come out in its defense.

Imam Shaker Elsayed of the Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church says FGM is helpful to curbing young girls’ sexual drive.

Virginia imam is advocating for female genital mutilation, or FGM, despite the fact that the practice is illegal in the United States. Imam Shaker Elsayed of the Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia, appears to believe that abusing women under the guise of religious purity codes is morally virtuous. Mutilating a little girl’s genitals today can prevent “hypersexuality” in the future, says Imam Elsayed in a sermon to parishioners. After suggesting that the more extreme forms of mutilation may need to be avoided, the imam lectures his parishioners about seeking guidance from Muslim gynecologists familiar with the illegal procedure.
FGM is “the honorable thing to do if needed,” he preaches, detailing the supposed virtues of the horrifying practice. Imam Elsayed explains: [Cut] the tip of the sexually sensitive part of the girl so that she is not hypersexually active…in societies where circumcision of girls is completely prohibited, hypersexuality takes over the entire society and a woman is not satisfied with one person or two or three. The depraved talk was posted on YouTube and caught the attention of MEMRI, a watchdog group that monitors Islamist rhetoric around the world.
“Elsayed’s comments during a lecture on child rearing and family life last month sparked a brief controversy last Friday after a right-wing watchdog group circulated a video clip of his speech online,” reports The Washington Post.
The Board of Directors at the imam’s mosque only condemned their religious leader’s comments Monday after the public began voicing outrage over the leaked video. Representatives of the Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center added that the brutal practice of FGM violates both U.S. and Islamic law. However, the mosque failed to acknowledge that FGM is not all that uncommon in the Islamic world. “FGM is practiced throughout the world, with an estimated 200 million women and girls having undergone genital cutting as a coming-of-age ritual, typically under age 15,” notes NPR.
Shockingly, FGM is practiced with increasing frequency in the United States. The high-profile arrests of three FGM-practicing Muslim doctors in Michigan recently introduced the topic back into the national conversation after complacency and naiveté fooled Americans into believing that such a horrific practice can only occur in third-world countries. Cases of FGM in America have been skyrocketing, largely as a result immigration from FGM-practicing Muslim-majority countries like Somalia. The Daily Wire reported on the disturbing phenomenon in May: The CDC states that the massive increase in the monstrous practice of female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) is “wholly a result of rapid growth in the number of immigrants from FGM/C-practicing countries living in the United States.” Virtually all of the countries listed by the CDC were dominated by Muslims.
And that’s not even including Indonesia, the largest Muslim nation. The author of the 2016 study asserted that if Indonesia were included, the number of victims would increase by “several tens of thousands.” Recently-retired CDC researcher Howard Goldberg told The New York Post, “Indonesian figures became available after we wrote our paper, but it turns out that FGM was much more common in Indonesia than had been thought.”
As Paula Kweskin, a human rights lawyer and producer of the film Honor Diaries points out, “In the United States, 507,000 women are at risk or have undergone the procedure.” In an op-ed for USA Today, Kweskin argues that the country shouldn’t turn a blind-eye to FGM or worse, defend and excuse it, due to fears stemming from political correctness or so-called “Islamophobia.” “Culture is no excuse for abuse. No religion or culture should be the impetus for hurting, mutilating or abusing anyone, and our children should be protected. For too long, FGM has been practiced under the radar in the United States. … My hope for all women and girls is that we will stand for equality,” writes Kweskin.

For me as a father of two girls, the issue of whether to use a lawyer or some other method to bring home to the retard concerned how offensive he and his criminal inclinations are involves a moments thought or two.
There, sorted, a lawyer in cases like this with vermin like that is as much use as a chocolate teapot, other less “formal” methods will bring home to him the error of his ways.
I hope someone local gives him a “good stiff all round talking to”.

I despise shows like this. It takes a long time for a western woman living abroad to get any respect at all, partly because of excrement like that.
I have said, straight to people’s faces, “If you believed everything you saw on TV about fill-in-the-blank ethnicity or religion or nationality, what would you believe?”. I’ve got news for him. If only the “tip” of the clitoris is cut in childhood – the

A recent programme on FGM in Africa interviewed a Muslim male, who said that FGM was necessary to curb any sexual desires in his wives – he said that with three of them he couldn’t be expected to satisfy them all sexually.
THAT is the reality of this primitive, barbaric practice. It is beyond shameful that despite being illegal for decades, the US and Britain can’t make successful prosecutions when countries like France have made hundreds. All out of political correctness and the fear of offending “minorities”, because the practice is exclusive to the Muslim world and black Africa. There is no place for it in the civilised world.

I’m a Muslim from Pakistan who follows the Hanafi school, however I hadn’t a clue about FGM – I only learned about it couple of years in UK . It is a vile disgusting, barbaric act based on out-dated, cultural beliefs. It needs to be stopped full stop! I had my eyes opened on the course I did. I for one expected this to have men behind it but is the women who keep this tradition going. Many countries practice FGM and they are not all Muslim countries at all. The figures are quite staggering. Female Genital Mutilation occurs in non-Muslim societies in Africa and is practiced by Christians, Muslims and Animists alike. In Egypt, where perhaps 97 percent of girls suffer genital mutilation, both Christian Copts and Muslims are complicit. Thus, it has long been concluded to be a cultural practice, not connected to religion.
FGM is a revolting, barbaric practice. So is child sexual abuse. Have you bothered to ruthlessly suppress hat and prosecute sexual predators? Or do you just let them get away with it for years because of their upstanding positions in society? The issue is on a fault line between a number of sensitivities, it’s going to provoke emotional reactions. FGM is sexual assault and should be treated as such. The poor children are coaxed into this barbaric procedure by the people they most trust – unaware of the long-term mental and physical consequences. There is no place for ‘cultural sensitivity’ when addressing this matter – anyone found guilty should be named and shamed.
Is this not child abuse by the parents? Is there not a procedure in place to deal with child abuse by parents? Sharia has nothing to do with FGM. FGM predates Islam. As it’s open season on Muslims and Islam, especially open season on Muslim women in Europe, the proportion of women children at risk is equivalent to the number of Muslim girls in Europe. FGM in the UK is a classic case of a politically correct public sector bending over backwards to accommodate blatant abuses of the person in the name of cultural and religious traditions.To destroy a girl’s clitoris is to ruin their sex life for ever. That is a crime and there are laws that are good enough to deal with this. What on earth are the police doing? Sitting on their ar*es no doubt.
FGM predates Islam. It was supposedly first started in Pharaoh Egypt. Perhaps earlier. Islam does NOT teach it or support it. The Prophet Muhammad had 4 daughters and 9 wives and not a single evidence or testimony suggests any of them underwent anything like FGM or that they supported it. Islam does not permit mutilation of the body for rituals or customs or traditions, like prohibiting tattoos. FGM is wrongly associated with Islam. But so are many things. Ironically, the British empire was instrumental at destroying the one institution with the moral, political, and spiritual authority to end destructive and barbaric practices like FGM.
Keith Vaz, the committee’s Labour chairman, said victims had been badly let down. “FGM is an on going national scandal which is likely to have resulted in the preventable mutilation of thousands of girls to whom the state owed a duty of care,” he said. “Successive governments, politicians, the police, health, education and social care sectors should all share responsibility for the failure in recent years to respond adequately to the growing prevalence of FGM in the UK.”Right ‘cos we couldn’t possibly point the finger at the cultures that do this kind of thing and protect those who do it with a conspiracy of silence, could we? What proportion of children are at risk of FGM compared to the proportion of children at risk of abuse generally?

It’s not the female’s sexuality that needs to be tamed. It’s the males, in particular the muslim males who go around forming rape gangs in Europe and raping little girls.
Therefore I advocate that all those muslim men need to be castrated to tame their sexuality!
