Algeria isn’t even a hardline Islamic state, but nonetheless, Christians and other non-Muslims live precarious existences there, always subject to this kind of legally sanctioned persecution. The Algerian constitution says that everyone has freedom of belief, but if you “shake the faith” of a Muslim, you will be prosecuted. And that could take virtually any form, even the slightest disagreement or contradiction. That’s one reason why the left and the Islamic movement worldwide are so closely aligned: they’re both authoritarians who brook no dissent or disagreement. Ideological kin.

The Attorney of the Republic beseeched the Court of Ferne in the state of Tiaret to impose a six-month prison sentence and a fine of 5 million centimes ($438.30) against the accused, “NB,” who is an Algerian Christian from the same state, on charges of “shaking the faith” of Muslims, pending the final verdict on March 8.
Story continues below advertisementThe patron of the Protestant Church in Oran, Rashid, was astonished at the nature of the charge, a charge that led to the capture of “NB” simply because he was carrying religious books that relate to his ideological orientation.
This happened despite the fact that Article 42 of the amended Constitution of Algeria states that “the sanctity of freedom of belief, freedom of opinion and freedom of worship is guaranteed in respect of the law.” However, we can see some contradiction in the latter, according to Article 11 of Law No. 06-03, which defines the conditions and rules of religious rites for non-Muslims [28 February 2006]. Punishable by imprisonment of two to five years and a fine of 500,000 to one million dinar ($4382.98 to $8765.96) is “anyone who incites, presses or uses seditious means to convince a ‘Muslim’ to change his religion or to use for that purpose educational, hospital, social and cultural institutions, training institutions or any other institution and financial means.” The same penalty applies to “anyone who produces, stores or distributes printed documents or audiovisual tapes or any other means to ‘shake the faith’ of Muslims.”

6 years agomuslim’ faith is so weak that it can be shaken by the presence of a book? Not surprising, islam is weak, even its chief devil ali ass can be frightened by a pig, his minions are terrified of dogs, and, the only way to keep muslims in line is to murder a few every now and then to scare the survivors into submission. This validates the fear spawned by weakness that is the core of islam.
6 years agoReply to Mahou ShoujoExactly, It is estimated that over 90% of muslims don’t know anything about the life of Mohamed, and the Imans and Mullahs want it kept that way. Apparently some muslims actually have a conscience ( hard to believe I know) and the ones that are MINO’s would leave in droves if they actually knew. The trouble is, although books are available 60% of muslims are fully illiterate and reading is not a big thing in Islamic societies… I noticed two things that muslims who leave the religion have.. Parents who actually love them as children, and a large interest in reading books.. Brigette Gabriel and Nonie Darwash are examples…
6 years agoReply to Lynn Dmuslims are as you say, mostly illiterate, those that can read risk being called apostates if they discuss the qura’an as it is supposed to be completely accepted, word for word as it is. Anyone who reads the qur’an to learn rather than to validate, will abandon islam as it is so full of contradictions and subhuman behaviour that a thinking person could never accept it.

6 years agoIslam is hardly a compelling “faith” to be a part of. So they have to keep the blinders on for those born into it. FREEDOM from oppression and belief in a God that is LOVING is a threat. Islam is all about HATE and OPPRESSION. I’ll let a Muslim apostate explain why he left Islam.
Here is a recent statement from a group of Bangladeshi apostates living in the UK explaining the reasons why they have abandoned Islam:

Sharia is very well in place there inside the family laws. For example an algerian woman cannot travel abroad by her free will if not being allowed (confirmed in written form) to do so by her husband or a male member of her family.
In many saharan towns, women wear a special style of veiling that only leaves space open for one eye. Looks very weird, like one eyed zombies.
When I resided at the house of my algerian friend, every time I had to go to the toilet I first had to announce this, so they could remove his sister out of my way to the toilet in order to prevent her to be seen by me.It was fascinating to observe how muslims unnecessarily complicate their daily lives and make a fuss out of nothing.
My algerian friend was actually very sad about these medieval circumstances and told me, that if his parents weren´t at home, I could move freely around the whole house whenever I want. Even naked. He wouldn´t care. But because of his parents, every time I wanted to pee, he had to leave our room and check for his sister before I left the room.
