Western governments are counting on their growing Muslim populations to assimilate. But stories like this one show how unlikely that is. They have imported huge populations that are certain that their system of government and mores are superior to those of the countries to which they come. There is no way that this can end well. Europe and Canada (and the United States, unless President Trump is able to roll this back) have indefatigably pursued policies that are certain to bring their children and grandchildren lives of strife, misery, and conflict.

Police in the Belgian city of Waregem arrested a Tunisian couple for battering their four children.
Story continues below advertisementThe reason for this ill-treatment is that the children are “too Western” according to their parents. During a dispute the 16-year-old daughter was hit with a belt in the face and was seriously injured.
The police interfered during the fight and arrested the father and the mother of the children. According to the prosecutor’s office all children were maltreated. The couple also had plans to send their children to Tunisia, an Islamic country with between 98 and 99 per cent Muslims….

I disagree with Pamela here.
I don’t believe Western governments want immigrants to assimilate. The last government that had immigrants assimilate was America, a century ago.
Government agencies didn’t have all sorts of forms translated into Spanish, Arabic, or whatever foreign language. Immigrants were forced to learn the language of their host country, and if they couldn’t/wouldn’t, then they had to deal with the consequences.
Divershitty isn’t bad – as long as the immigrants adopt & follow the culture of the host country. It’s when they do NOT adopt & follow the culture, when problems like we see today, fester.
Europeans of all nationalities successfully assimilated into 19th, and early-20th century America. It’s not like forms were printed in German, Italian, Latin, Polish, Hungarian, etc.
I still get pissed whenever I have to fill out forms (whether government, or private businesses), and see Spanish on the reverse.
And the police should’ve hung the father by his own belt after smacking him in the face with it.

I live a mile outside one of the worst Chicago neighborhoods, and have had to occasionally venture inside them for work after dark. I carry a few weapons with me when I do.

Not me personally. I make a point to look people in the eye. I’m a fairly big guy, so I’m not a likely candidate to get picked on, or worse. But why take a chance. And I’ve seen looks of relief from blacks who’ve answered their wrought-iron security doors, that I’m white, and know I’m not gonna do them any harm.
My mom has told me that our family moved out of Chicago because I got a black eye from a Puerto Rican as a little kid, which I have no recollection.

A few year’s back I tried to get to one of the main lakeside Museums in Chicago by the El Metro. We passed by the burnt out graffiti covered shells of three rise housing. Unfortunately the train turned left into an even worse suburb. I had to get off and go back a few stops. But at that station I was mugged by a black guy with a knife. After that I quickly went back to the CBD and hotel with my hood well up covering the fact that I was a white guy. B’stard completely ruined my trip. Never went back to that sh$t-hole city.

Wow – sorry to hear that. I just read recently somewhere that Chicago was the most toured city, either in America, or the world. Wish I could remember where it was, but that made me laugh, because the city that tourists see is different than the other parts; occasionally, they overlap, as you can attest.

Thank You …. Very interesting point, Just Saying, I appreciate you telling me that. I was unaware that the epithet had come from the census and been used to separate Americans like that, it’s a deliberate psychological division and it makes all the difference in the world from which side the distinction comes. As an Aussie I would feel like I hadn’t been fully accepted if I became a naturalised American citizen and had the caveat “Australian” put ahead of American! It would feel like ” Junior Member” or “Acting Sergeant” rather than “Member” or “Sergeant” and I imagine TO OTHERS Australian American would sound like I hadn’t really made my mind up and perhaps my loyalties could be called into question!

The key word here is “European”. They all assimilated easily because they are all closely related. Other immigrants are radically different. They can assimilate too, but usually not easily.

True. I have seen the Twin Studies. The more closely people are genetically alike the easier assimilation is.

For those not familiar with the topic, various studies have been done on identical twins who were separated at birth. Amazingly it was found that the twins often drove the same kinds of cars, had the same favorite color, same favorite foods, married the same types of people who look very similar, had the same political party affiliation, joined the same types of social clubs, and after decades apart could often complete each others sentences when talking to each other.
What the studies showed was that the more closely people are genetically related the more qualities they have in common. The converse is also true — the more genetically unrelated people are the fewer qualities they share. This shows up in many ways. We talked about the Nigerian who wanted to barbecue and eat a dog in the other thread. That is merely one example. Cultural norms, levels of empathy (or altruism), donating to charities, or even tipping a waitress are all part of those differences.
Given these facts, those who control our immigration policies should have a good idea of what types of immigrants will fit in and what types will not.

“Too Western.” This then begs the question: WTF are they doing in Belgium? Re: assimilation, not going to happen. Some may appear to have assimilated, but watch that disappear as their numbers grow.

Too Western for Muslim parents and too Islamic for most Westerners…it is a difficult paradox.
However, I personally am none too certain whether even younger Muslims assimilate as much as some people think, they may learn English and a bit of our culture, but they are still deeply devoted to the laws of the Quran.

While that is undeniably true for some, I’m not sure European or North American Moslems can be characterized that way. However, they are deeply imbued with the culture spawned by centuries of Islam, including contempt for “other” people and an overweening sense of superiority.
You may think that is a distinction without a difference, but I think it should not be overlooked. For example, my impression is that participation in mosques in Europe is low.

They have invaded Belgium to subdue the population by any means necessary (death, lies violence, torture, fake news) and to then turn it into an islamic hell hole such as they arrived from. The issue is the severe and frequent abuse of children by psychotic musims all over the world. Worse, no world leaders are doing much, if anything, about it. It’s a rotten world that does not protect its children and God is not looking favorably at us. Hence, WWIII is coming. Why do we tolerate Islam in the West? Because of “freedom of religion?” But what if that “religion” is malevolent?” Then, if we don’t want to tolerate a malevolent “religion”….does that mean we are bad because we are “intolerant?” Why is the term “religion” a free pass to do whatever heinous act that “religion” wants to do? Why can’t we discriminate against Muslims coming into our country because Islam is malevolent? Why didn’t our Founding Fathers qualify the term “religion” and “faith” to exclude Islam? They should have known better since they fought the Muslim Barbary pirates. Didn’t they know that something calling itself a “religion” can be a perverted version of religion and pose a threat?
