BREAKING: Iran military launches first direct military operation against Israel

105

More of the poisonous fruit of Obama’s treasonous financing of the genocidal Islamic Republic of Iran. Obama fought tooth and nail for this evil regime. Obama’s legacy is his nuclear pact with the world’s leading state sponsor of terror. Trump should have ended it already. He hasn’t. Even if he does, Obama delivered wooden pallets of cash to the mullahs. We aren’t getting that money back. And the Iranians have used it to aid terror groups and plot the destruction of Israel. Where are the Senate hearings on that? Where is the special prosecutor from the illegal payoff to terrorist actors?

Iran, under Islamic law, is viciously antisemitic, which is a religious imperative under Islam. Perhaps that was what Obama found the most compelling. His hatred of the Jewish state is well documented. The enormous sums of American taxpayer dollars transferred to the world’s largest state sponsor of terror was treasonous and unconscionable. The hell that President Obama’s feckless submission to Iran could unleash in the coming years might turn history on its ear. While Obama attempts to burnish his catastrophic legacy, the fallout from his treachery is going to blow up the world. Trump can’t undo that deal fast enough.

Omni Ceren of the Israel Project sent out this news alert early Saturday morning:

Story continues below advertisement

Good Saturday.

Overnight Iran launched its first direct military operation against Israel, dispatching a drone commanded from the Tiyas Airbase in Syria’s central Homs region [a][b].

The Israelis used an Apache helicopter to intercept and down the drone [c], then sent four jets to destroy the command center (an Israeli military spokesperson confirmed “accurate hits of Iranian UAV control facility” [d]). One of the Israeli F-16s was abandoned by its pilots over Israel, amid what the Israelis describe as “massive Syrian anti-air fire” [e][f]. Syrian anti-aircraft fire reached Israeli territory, triggering extended emergency activities in Israel’s northern communities [g].

Iran and its proxies had been escalating their threats to attack Israel over the last few weeks. Hezbollah threatened to attack Israel for a range of reasons, from energy resource disputes [h] to the Israelis building a border fence [i]. Iranian cleric Ayatollah Ebrahim Raisi, one of the front-runners to be the next Iranian Supreme Leader, toured the Israeli-Lebanese border and boasted about operations to secure “Jerusalem’s liberation” [j].

A couple of things to watch:

(1) Military — Iran and its proxies have structured their forces in Syria and Lebanon to guarantee mass casualties during their next war with Israel — In Syria, Hezbollah says it has 10,000 fighters ready to attack Israel and to create a single front across all of Israel’s north and northeast [k]. In Lebanon, Hezbollah has transformed hundreds of villages into “military strongholds,” according to the AP, effectively conscripting human shields who will become civilian casualties blamed on Israel, according to the NYT [l][m]. They’ve stockpiled roughly 150,000 rockets and missiles, allowing them to saturation bomb Israeli population centers with 1,500 rockets and missiles per day for over three months, and Hezbollah chief Nasrallah says the group will use those projectiles against Israel’s civilian nuclear installations and chemical facilities, triggering tens of thousands of casualties [n][o][p]. Hezbollah leaders also say their Syrian battle experience will allow them to launch a ground invasion of Israel, in part through advanced hardened military tunnel infrastructure [q][r].

(2) DC politics and policy — The exchanges touch nuclear and non-nuclear Iran issues — On nuclear, recent reports confirmed that parts of the windfall Iran received from the nuclear deal flowed to Hezbollah [s]. On non-nuclear, the Trump administration this month targeted Hezbollah with sanctions [t]. Differing proposals to fold missile restrictions into the nuclear deal are at the core of the debate over President Trump’s request for Congress and Europe to “fix” the deal [u][v][w][x].

WE HAD CONFISCATED THE GOLD WHEN THE IRANIANS HELD OUR EMBASSY STAFF AND MARINES AS HOSTAGES. SO THAT IS ALMOST 15 BILLION DOLLARS THAT OBAMA GAVE TO THE IRANIANS IN HIS LAST TWO YEARS IN OFFICE. ALL WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF CONGRESS . TREASON MOST FOUL PEOPLE, TREASON MOST FOUL .

The drone incursion sounds like bait
– to get the Israeli f-16s to attack
– where Hez / Syria / Russia could shoot one down.
– f-16 shoot-downs are very rare, and Israel seldom loses one
– but Israel has many other strike options
– f-15E, a fighter-bomber designed for muscular ground attack
– f-35, already in service in Israel, ultra stealthy, can serve as an orchestra conductor of the battle space, also carry nukes
– GPS-MLRS, these are GPS-guided multiple launch rocket systems that can obliterate specific targets with precision
– they are ground to ground missiles, no aircraft needed

There is opportunity here. It’s not 2006 anymore.
– Israel is much better prepared since the last Lebanon war
– example is that civilian houses loaded with missiles can be warned
– In the 2014 Gaza conflict, Israel fired low explosive mortars over houses that would be hit
– to give a warning bang to evacuate
– and also sent text messages to areas likely to be hit, to leave or take cover
– Gaza civilian casualties were low. About 1,500 military age men died, almost all Hamas combatants.
– so Israel has an opportunity to efficiently clean out Southern Lebanon
– and destroy a lot of Hezbollah weapons and hideouts
– with minimal Israeli casualties
– and limited collateral damage

Soviet S-400 system is deadly. I’ve heard our pilots talk about the Soviet system. This is not going to be a walk in the park for Israel if Syria has this system. I hope Israel is able to pound the snot out of them.

S-400 is the son of S-300
– Israel has extensive experience with defeating the S-300
– because Greece has the S-300, and they practice together
– MALD is a potent radar spoofing weapon that confuses S-400
– the Israeli f-35 is very hard to detect, and can be used to destroy the S-400
– the biggest weakness of the S-400 is that the missiles and radar are combined
– so as soon as the S-400 turns on its radar, it is also a target
– for missiles that home in on radar

Yes. I was talking about how Israel might destroy the antiaircraft systems in Syria
– because Israel will have to use aircraft to bomb Southern Lebanon
– so they have to clear out the Syrian antiaircraft systems

Thanks for the in depth explanation Democracyrules. I read that the S-400 can reach out and touch you at 250 km. I hope what you say about the f-35 is true? Not saying it’s not true, don’t misunderstand me, I just hope it is true. The Israeli’s should stick it to the Syrians.

That would not surprise me. Just like the missile tech Clinton sold to China. Someone once wrote down a quote that Lenin supposedly said, and that was: “Capitalists are so greedy that they will sell me the rope that I use to hang them with”. I am a free market Capitalist, and this certainly would not apply to me, or anyone I know. This is true for Clinton and Obama though.

One big mistake for Russia was bringing in high tech to Syria
– where Israel can study it
– how it’s fielded
– how it’s maintained
– if it’s ever used
– if not, why not?
– if it is used, how does it perform?
– if it’s used, what are it’s weaknesses?
– Israel can find out with satellite surveillance
– airborne surveillance
– ground surveillance
– and HUMINT – human intelligence
– from Syria-based double agents
– this is all standard operating procedure for Israel

Israel has similar systems
– and since GPS-MLRS is mobile on a HIMARS launcher
– the US could supply HIMARS + GPS MLRS
– in short order
– via heavy air transport if necessary
– one HIMARS-launched missile has a range of 300 miles

Yes, but they’re small subs with few tubes.

Ohio-class subs can carry 154 Tomahawks, as a comparison.

With those Israel would have a way to strike air defenses or destroy entire military bases from undersea while being completely protected from ememy missiles strikes.

Would you trust your air force to fly over Soddy Barbaria? They might let the IAF fly through their airspace on outbound strikes against Iran but would you trust them to allow the IAF to return through their airspace? Destroying large numbers of IAF aircraft would only serve to increase the street credibility of the House of Saud in the Sunni world.

If war comes and the Iranians and Hezbollah target Israel civilian centers of population, the world will be silent. If Israel targets villages used to hide missiles, the EU, UN and the Left in general will throw up their arms in horror and accuse Israel of war crimes. I hope Israel will not be deterred this time, and will destroy its enemies. If Hezbollah invades from Syria or Lebanon, Israel should consider that an invasion by a hostile country, Lebanon, and react accordingly. Lebanon must know there are consequences for allowing Hezbollah to take over its government.

We had a president that thought that the answer to the Iranian “issue” was to give them a ton of cold hard cash and a 10 year path to nuclear armament!! Of course they IMMEDIATELY went back on that deal and spent the money on weapons for terrorists. Who could of ever seen the iranians going back on that deal ….oh thats right ANYONE and everyone with half a brain! They also made the same mistake with the Arab spring, the Russian reset, Lybia and Syria as well, which by the way got over a quarter million Syrians killed (lots of women and children’s blood are on their hands) and also started the mass refugee migration that will end up destroying europe as well! Thanks Dem’s, great job! Just because buying off people worked well for them here in this country they thought, very stupidly i might add, that it would work everywhere and with everyone! The level of their stupidity is frankly heart breaking because i am afraid at this point the damage they have done is in most cases irreversible.

Oh-Oh: Russian involvement
http://www.debka.com/russian-troops-involved-iranian-syrian-clash-israel/
“The Syrian anti-air missiles which hit an Israeli F-16 early Saturday, Feb. 10, are part of a system operated with and commanded by the Russians from their Kheimim air base. The F-16 was shot down during an Israeli air strike against the Iranian facility at the T-4 air base near Palmyra, which launched a UAV into Israeli airspace that morning. The ongoing clash has therefore gone way beyond an Israeli confrontation with Syria and Iran and marks a serious deterioration in the security situation on Israel’s northern border.”

My comment: DebkaFile is not always right
– but it had to be the Russians, because Syria lacks the capacity to down an f-16 fighter
– f-16s are very nimble and well-defended aircraft [especially the Israeli version f-16]
– this means that the f-16 pilot was not expecting the Russian missile
– and the Russians used a high-quality missile
– and that means the Russians intended to shoot down the f-16

Meta-military options:
– ignore the Russian aspect and retaliate to a big juicy Syrian military target
– recognize the Russian aspect and bomb the missiles at the Russian’s Kheimim air base

And that would be a good thing.

John:
Yes, and as of today Feb 11, that’s what Israel did
– ignored the Russian aspect
– and spent last night bombing multiple Iranian targets
– inside Syria

The Middle East seems to be one huge mess, I hope this doesn’t lead to yet another regional war, we’ve had enough of those over the past few years.

The sovereign airspace of Israel cannot be invaded by unauthorized aircraft.
. Sources of the control of any unauthorized aircraft operating within Israel will be extinguished at any distance.

Good luck with that Iran. Israel can’t be pushed too far before you risk getting a nuke response…

Iran is a direct result of Obama and Putin working together to build up their military and nuclear capabilities and it sickens me when i hear Americans say how wonderful Putin is.

Meanwhile, the brainless idiot currently running Canada, J. Trudeau, is kissing up to Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas in yet another attempt to submit to Islamic terrorists. No wonder so many people around the world have such a low opinion of Islam and it’s hate literature.

Israel is diplomatically maintaining it’s temper. If the retrogressive iranian mullahs in their pajamas ever succeed in really pissing-off the Israelis, the mullahs will regret it immediately. It won’t even matter after about a week.
The iranians don’t seem to understand the mentality of Jewish culture victimized in the Holocaust. Heck, the iranian mullahs deny it even happened. (BIG mistake.)
The Israelis will never acquiesce, or back-down, let alone surrender. Their technology (and sheer willpower) far exceeds anything the iranians have ever been exposed to. Anybody who ever associated with or understands the Israeli military knows that.
