Based on a survey sample of 12 men, German researchers have concluded that
“Groups like the self-proclaimed Islamic State are Muslim in name alone.”
“Researchers conducting the study said the young men’s conversations demonstrated little understanding of their professed faith and that the group constructed a “Lego Islam” to suit their purposes.

“The group had no basic knowledge about Islam.”
It is impossible to know completely what is in this German report without reading a translation of it. However, a lot can be surmised.
The fact that the study is aimed at non-Muslims, and not the killers is a good indication of bias. If ISIS and its leaders and members have it all wrong, then tell them that. A growing number of people know that Muhammad and his successor Abu Bakr behaved very much like ISIS, including acts of genocide, rape, torture, murder, and hideous, draconian punishments for running afoul of the regime. ISIS is Islamic.
When otherwise peaceful wonderful, generous, loving Muslims hear the call to jihad, they all too often become psychotic, barbaric killers, over anything or nothing at all. The list of causes to violent jihad includes: a hair, a cartoon, a teddy bear, a video, a rumor, or the weather. The Osnabrück report should be targeted toward them.
It is more than just jihad. It is also FGM, triple talaq, honor killing, polygamy, and more. Unlawful behavior by Muslims needs to be treated as such. People are talking about this in Germany, perhaps the authors of the paper are involved in that effort. The evidence from the Huffington Post column suggests that this is not the case. The HuffPo concludes:

Some may find hope in this research paper, but to those who are paying attention, it only rates a shrug. Non-Muslims do not need another public demonstration of takfir, even if it has an academic veneer.
German Study Finds Radicalized Muslims Have Little Actual Knowledge Of Islam
A group of professed Muslim radicals “had no basic knowledge about Islam,” according to a new study.
Extremists and Islamophobes alike have attempted to paint violent factions within Islam as the true expression of the faith. But a new study gives credence to what countless Muslim leaders, activists and scholars have argued: that groups like the self-proclaimed Islamic State are Muslim in name alone.
A group of German scholars at the Universities of Bielefeld and Osnabrück analyzed 5,757 WhatsApp messages found on a phone seized by police following a terrorist attack in the spring of 2016. The messages were exchanged among 12 young men involved in the attack. The attack itself was not identified in the report.
Deutsche Welle noted that the timeframe suggested it may have been a bombing at a Sikh temple in Essen carried out in April of that year by a group of German teens with reported links to Islamic extremism.
Researchers conducting the study said the young men’s conversations demonstrated little understanding of their professed faith and that the group constructed a “Lego Islam” to suit their purposes.
Bacem Dziri, a researcher at the University of Osnabrück and co-author on the report, examined the messages from an Islamic studies perspective and concluded: “The group had no basic knowledge about Islam.”
The scholars published their study as a book exploring the “violent Salafist youth scene in Germany,” according to the Amazon blurb, referencing an ultraconservative strain of Islam with which the young men were allegedly affiliated.
The Brookings Institute defines Salafism as “the idea that the most authentic and true Islam is found in the lived example of the early, righteous generations of Muslims, known as the Salaf, who were closest in both time and proximity to the Prophet Muhammad.” The movement has historically been apolitical and nonviolent, wrote researcher Mohammed Alyahya in a column on The New York Times. But Brookings notes that a smaller offshoot faction, called Salafi-jihadists, do promote violence as a “divine imperative” and include groups like ISIS and al-Qaeda.
As one case study, the Amazon blurb highlights, the WhatsApp chats offer “insight into the group-internal dynamics of young Salafists” and their “radicalization processes.”
One thing that stood out, Dziri said in an email to HuffPost, was the extent to which the men had distanced themselves from local mosques and seemed confused about things as simple as how to go about conducting Friday prayers.
Another man admitted in the messages he didn’t have a copy of the Quran, Islam’s holy text. And the others agreed that they needed to purchase one. Dr. Rauf Ceylan, a professor at the University of Osnabrück and one of the study’s co-authors, said it was “striking” that the discussion about obtaining a Quran occurred well after the group had been established.
“All religious conversations conducted up to this time were only content that has been learned from hearsay and rumors,” Ceylan told HuffPost.
When the group’s self-appointed leader called for a meeting, one participant fretted that he didn’t have any Islamic clothing. The leader responded: “You can also wear sweatpants or something like that. If you want I can loan you something for the day.”
The report is just a case study from one group of individuals, and its conclusions might not apply in all circumstances. But it echoes the conclusions of many Muslim scholars and activists who see little resemblance to their religion in such militant groups.
Ceylan and Dziri also noted that the 12 men involved in the WhatsApp chat appeared to have received little “religious socialization” and isolated themselves from other Muslims in their community.
“One of the main points for us is that these young radicalized people come mostly from a family which is remote from religion and they do not radicalize themselves in mosques,” Dziri said. “With a profound knowledge of faith, it would be impossible, or at least considerably more difficult to radicalize in that way.”

That is one thing about the qur’an, when it says to murder, steal, lie, rape or otherwise inconvenience anyone, muslims do precisely that. There is no room for interpretation in islam, it is kill or murder.

After 10 years studying Islam, I thought I knew it however, after reading this monograph it opened my eyes much wider!
Why in the hell are we allowing the “NEW” Treason Party to place political correctness above our Constitution and our NATIONAL SECURITY?
Who is the Treason Party you ask!
It is the entire Democrat Party, the Muslim Brotherhood’s own political party, the benign-sounding U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations and the RINO/GOP leadership/followers in the soon to be defunct Republican Party!
The Treason Party is more than willing to send our military around the world to fight and die helping install Shariah/Islamic law while our USELESS Department of Homeland Security allows the Muslim Brotherhood infiltrate America and to destroy us from within!
The Muslim Brotherhood wrote a plan dated May 22, 1991, they call their “Civilization-Jihadist Process” plan designed to infiltrate America and destroy us from within by acting nice to everyone but their goal is the same with those that believe and practice Islam. They have been working towards this goal over 1,400 years now and that is a GLOBAL Caliphate, an Ummah ruled by Shariah/Islamic law.
Our USELESS politicians at all levels of government, from our mayor to our president, take an Oath of Office/affirmation that our NATIONAL SECURITY and our Constitution! This makes their #1 priority our national defense, however, they ignore it but instead worship at the altar of the Marxist cultural Marxism i.e. political correctness.
Muslim Brotherhood’s creed: “Allah is our goal. The Prophet is our leader. The Quran is our constitution. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”
Famed terrorist Carlos the Jackal said: “Only a coalition of Marxists and Islamists can destroy the United States.”
Does this vote represent the first vote for a “NEW” Treason Party? Was the old Treason party, the Democrat party not moving fast enough to destroy America so 27 members of the RINO/GOP decided to help thus forming a new Treason party! Think not?
They have knowingly place political correctness i.e. Cultural Marxism above everything, including our national security and placing our military in harm’s way because of it.
ALL POLITICIANS take an Oath of Office/affirmation to uphold our Constitution which in essence places our NATIONAL SECURITY as their #1 priority! So, why do they ignore it? Better yet, why our USELESS uninformed politically correct voters allowing it?
The entire Democrat Party and 27 RINO/GOP members and two Muslim Brotherhood members voted against an amendment that would help protect our military and this nation by knowing our enemy? This amendment would provide “Strategic assessments of the use of violent or unorthodox Islamic religious doctrine to support extremist or terrorism messaging and justification.”
For those of you that care about saving our military’s lives, I suggest you get involved and demand hearings on this!

Perhaps those chaps who wrote that report are related to an earlier set of twits who thought that the Nazis were basically good sorts because they ensured the trains ran on time, all the rest being merely hearsay.
I must say, Germany {or the bulk of it} is showing the same lemming like stupidity over mass immigration of the great unwashed and ignorant as their fore fathers once did over blindly going to war because some monster thought that too was the answer to German’s problems.
There seems to be a problem with the Germans, an advanced industrial and technical society harnessed to gormless leaders noted for poor judgments.

Germany turns to be the most ignorance country on earth. In WW2 they murdered 6M Jews that was the elite of the German society. After WW2 the birth rate was very low so they import Turkish immigrant to work at their factories. Now, it is not enough and they accept 2M Arabic to fill their low birth rate. Instead to give birth to children they bring Muslims.
They eliminate the Jews and exchange them with Arabic/Muslims that like to change the culture from Christianity to Islam. Bravo.

What utter nonsense! Clearly all one has to do is to read the biography of Muhammad to realize what kind of fiend he was. He launched 65 military campaigns in his life time, subjecting everybody in Saudi Arabia to his tyrannical rule. To those he conquered he was a terrorist. He raped and pillaged and tortured and committed genocide against the Jews. Nothing good can ever come from such a man.
You could do exactly the same kind of study about so called “peaceful Westernized Muslims”, as these often have a profound ignorance of their own religion and what is actually written in the Quran. Instead, they take everything they are told by their Imams as gospel truth, swallowing it up whole without applying critical thought, something not encouraged in Islam. So what does this study prove? One thing it proves is the power and influence of the Quran. The very fact that it does not take much exposure to these things to fall under its evil spell shows you how dangerous it is.

That study is crap and those who did it are full of it. Islam is Islam and Jihad is integral to its tenets. It’s the duty of every Muslim to use the hand, the heart, the mouth, and the sword to win converts for Allah. And when telling Mohammad’s message, doing good works, and showing Islam’s supposed superiority doesn’t work, the disbeliever MUST be subjugated or killed. Since their supposed prophet said they aren’t allowed to befriend infidels, they feign friendship in order to win them over to Islam. Taqia is the practice of lying to infidels if it advances Islam. And that’s why I slam Islam. It, as Winston Churchill aptly said, is a retrograde religion.
