U.S. Commander Warns of Rejoicing in Terror War Wins: ‘ISIS 2.0’ Lurks

12

Iraqis may be cheering the success of government forces to oust ISIS from Mosul, but Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend, the top U.S. commander in the country, warned against too much optimism.

Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend warned an “ISIS 2.0” could be waiting to take back Mosul.

He said that much work is needed to ensure “ISIS 2.0” doesn’t weasel its way back into Mosul.

And top of the list is for the Shia-controled government to reach out to the country’s Sunni population and make them feel welcome.

From the Express:

Townsend has warned the Government will have to take further steps to reach out to the Sunni population of the country to stop regional tensions causing further conflict.

He said: “If we’re to keep… ISIS 2.0 from emerging, the Iraqi government is going to have to do something pretty significantly different.

“They’re going to have to reach out and reconcile with the Sunni population, and make them feel like their government in Baghdad represents them.”

Iraq’s current Prime Minister is Haider al-Abadi, who represents the Shia State of Law coalition.

The country is one of the world’s few Shia governed states, while Iraq itself is divided between the 57 per cent Shia and 40 per cent Sunni population, as well as the majority Sunni Kurdish citizenry.

Mr Abadi formally declared victory over the vile ISIS regime in Iraq after a nearly nine-month battle against the terror tyrants came to a close in Mosul.

Dressed in a black military uniform he heralded the “collapse of the terrorist state of falsehood” as he waved his nation’s flag.

In a speech shown on state television, he said: “I announce from here the end and the failure and the collapse of the terrorist state of falsehood and terrorism which the terrorist Daesh announced from Mosul.

“We have another mission ahead of us, to create stability, to build and clear Daesh cells, and that requires an intelligence and security effort, and the unity which enabled us to fight Daesh.”

President Donald Trump, meanwhile, issued congratulations Iraq’s way, and so did Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who called the fall of Mosul a “critical milestone” in the larger war against ISIS.

The European Union, along with disastrous leftist governments have destroyed the European Continent and nations. This is what happens when extreme liberal lefties in charge disarm their populous, then allow themselves to be invaded. They reduce them down to something worse than a nothing burger. When the shooting and beheadings start, the leaders will be fleeing like cockroaches when the lights are turned on.

What ISIS 2.0? Just because the caliph is dead, does not mean ISIS is dead. It is still very much alive.

Regardless, as long as islam is alive, ISIS like organizations will never cease to permanently exist. They will keep sprouting up.

The main thing is to keep the morale of indigenous anti-terrorist ground troops up, by giving them enough support so they are sure to win. Tactical air support, artillery support, training, etc.

The Iraqis can learn from the French who neglected to follow through and enforce the Maginot Line and the Treaty of Versailles where Germany was concerned, thus the Nazi invasion of 1940. Incidentally, Hitler had the railroad car in which the Treaty of Versailles was signed at the end of WWI, which had been made into a monument in Paris, moved to Berlin for a ceremonial burning as a public symbol of German frustration and aggression.

Telling Shias that they should reach out to Sunnis. Yeah, that’ll work. Sometimes our military commanders are just so darn cute.

There is no IS, ISIS, ISIL, al qaeda, taliban, etc. There is only Islam. Those names we give it to make ourselves feel better, as if we understand it, reduce it to the ridiculous, are nothing but the tentacles or hydra heads of Islam. We can exterminate EVERY known “terrorist” on the planet, but nothing will have changed because Islam still sits on 1.6 billion terror eggs. Islam (and every moslem) is the enemy, the demon, the problem.
