Another key feature of XenApp & XenDesktop 7.12 is the extension of a feature, originally introduced in 7.9, called AppGroups. AppGroups created a new grouping concept where Application Types could be grouped together and made available to certain users, tagging gives us a lot more flexibility as you will see as we walk through my interactive blog.

To be clear, whilst I have highlighted that with AppGroups & Tagging we can reduce the need for Delivery Groups, we still do see these as a good fit for VDI workloads, which is what it was originally designed for.

Seeing as it’s Christmas season, I’m going to give you a little more (call it a gift from me to you). So, now that we have extended tags to do more that just be a filtered view for admins, lets look at the other ways we can use tags.

Hopefully you can see that from the two videos, tagging gives us a lot of flexibility within XenApp & XenDesktop.

As always, I’m happy to answer any questions around these items but as always I cannot answer items around roadmap items.

I hope you have enjoyed my blog posts for 2016 and I hope you all have a great Christmas and Happy New Year.

All the best,
Craig
