There are so many styles - probably as many as there are wire workers - of whimsical wire people. I've made my own too. One delightful tutorial is by Tela Formosa on her blog (Update : link no longer works). Her design is for pendants but could be scaled down for earrings.
People jewelry is not for everyone but those who love a bit of whimsy can have lots of fun trying out different poses and adding all sorts of beads for the hair.
I absolutely love how she posed her wire people in the photos captioned "Dance with Me" and "Walk like an Egyptian"!
