I am also a subscriber to Craftsy's website, so once I signed in I was able to download Yvonne's tutorial without a hitch.
Do you mean the captive method for chain mail? Or do you mean beaded rivoli or cabochon rings?

Versatility in designs is great as you can adapt the basic pattern and use them in different ways. This first ring design tutorial over on Try to Bead deserves its name - the Bling Ring! This one is not meant for fingers but is to be used as pendants or connected together to form a beaded chain. Maybe even as dangles for statement earrings?

The tutorial is downloadable as a PDF but you must first select the language before you can do so.
This lovely captured bead woven ring tutorial by Yvonne (My Amari) is for fingers. It uses 11/0 (both round and triangular) and 15/0 seed beads as well as 4 mm crystals or round beads. The stitches used are right angle weave and netting.

The pattern can be repeated all the way around the ring band for a dramatic ring. I agree with Yvonne that it also makes a lovely tennis bracelet if you keep going! Be sure to follow her advice if a bracelet is planned.
The use of triangular seed beads is less common. Beware that tension is important so they sit right.
You can also use just one motif and bead a simple and thinner band.
