I am of the belief that it doesn't have to be hard to make a stunning necklace. This awesome easy knotted seed bead necklace tutorial (UPDATE : link no longer available) by Trisha over on The Sweet Survival is one excellent example of big bang for little seed beads. It is the kind of design that makes one slaps forehead and wonder why we didn't think of it before!

Trisha does not give the length of each strand needed so you'll have to experiment with some thick yarn. Alternatively use bead stoppers at each end of the bead strands so you can add more beads if necessary.
She used 2 sizes of seed beads with the bigger ones in the middle. I think it would be fun to try different kinds of beads like say, crystals. Or even mix in a metal chain or two instead of all seed bead strands.

Easy and yet a statement necklace! Definitely going to give it a try! Perhaps putting cones on the ends would even up the look of it!
Thanks again Pearl!

Totally! Go for it. I would also consider mixing up the seed beads with smaller crystals.

Fabulous! And the tip to put bigger beads in the middle for the knot is priceless! As well as throwing in some crystals, etc.
