Hi Pearl, I had to use the dental floss method when I was pregnant with my now 15 year old because my hands were swelling and nothing else would work.I had seen a commercial for one of those books with tons of tips and in the commercial they mentioned how to get a ring off but didn't tell you how. Luckily my mother in-law had bought the book. Anyway the dental floss did the trick. Pat

Cetaphil brand liquid facial cleanser works better for me than regular soap does, plus it is easier to rinse off the ring once I get it off.

Thanks to the internet, the dental floss trick is now available to all! You were lucky that your MIL did get the book years ago. Stuck rings are so uncomfortable.

Thanks for the tip on the facial cleanser. It's probably less harsh too. I agree, regular soap and olive oil are harder to rinse off!
