Snowflake
Article © MAIL User: Noldolantë

The Snowflake weave requires two ring sizes. The rings used in this tutorial are 14 gauge (.080”) 3/8” ID for the large rings, and 16 gauge (.062”) 3/16” ID for the small rings. To make one unit of Snowflake you will need five large rings and thirty-six small rings.

In this tutorial, purple rings are the new rings in each step, and silver rings are pre-existing.

Step one:
Start with sixteen small rings in units of two like this.

Step two:
Take a large ring and put all of the two ring units from step one on it.

Close the large ring. It should look like this.

Step three:
Connect the outer horizontal small rings to each other with eight vertical small rings.

Step four:
Attach four large rings to the outer horizontal small rings with eight vertical small rings.

Then flip the large rings toward the middle so that they look like this.

Step five:
Add four vertical small rings, each one passing through the inner large ring and one outer large ring.

This is what the other side looks like.

You now have a finished Snowflake unit!

To connect units together to form a sheet, place one large ring through two of the outer small rings from each Snowflake unit.

And just keep connecting them together in that manner.
