I love the story of the cake being lowered from the ceiling. One morning Dale said to me that he had this great idea. He said he wanted Jennifer’s wedding cake to lower from the barn ceiling for her reception. I didn’t say a word, no facial expressions from me. I  pretended like he didn’t say it. It was too scary- lowering the wedding cake from the ceiling! We’d never done that! We never mentioned it again.

Then, Alex got here a week before the wedding.  In the first hour of his visit, he says to us that he would like to have their wedding cake lowered from the ceiling! I gasped. Dale looked at me, I looked at him. It was a done deal at that moment. Dale drew up the plans and gave them to Alex. We went to bed one night and the next morning we wake up to the entire plan finished, perfectly executed! He’s definitely a keeper.
