Pound Cake slathered with butter, a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar grilled to a golden brown perfection, topped with a large spoonful of Cool Whip Whipped Topping and a gorgeous spoonful of fresh fruit…what’s not to love?

This Grilled Pound Cake is not only perfect for a quick treat while camping or a Cookout, they are also elegant enough to serve at a dinner party with friends. The sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar makes them sweet, but not super sweet. And the addition of Cool Whip is always a hit!

You could also add a Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, simply add a few sprinkles, or make a Dessert Bar and let guests make their own. Any way you serve them…I know everyone will love them!

Grilled Pound Cake with Fresh Fruit

Grilled Pound Cake with Fresh Fruit

Yield: 12 cakes slices
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes

Whether you are camping out or hosting a dinner, this Grilled Pound Cake is quick, easy and delicious. Recipe from HoosierHomemade.com

Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen Pound Cake {thawed} and cut into 12 slices {like Entenmann's}
  • 4 cups assorted fresh fruit, cut and slices
  • Butter or Margarine
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tub {8 oz} COOL WHIP Whipping Topping, thawed

Instructions

  1. Cut and slice fruit, arrange on skewers, set aside
  2. Spread butter on each slice of cake {one or both sides}
  3. Mix sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over each cake slice
  4. Place cake slice on grill
  5. Grill on both sides until lightly toasted {about 2-3 minutes}
  6. Cool, top with COOL WHIP and fruit

Notes

Liz says...The presentation of these with the fresh fruit was beautiful {and delicious}, but you could also add a Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, Sprinkles or even some crushed cookies. The sky's the limit for toppings.
