2000AD ditches DRM

A couple of weeks ago I asked: Is Digital Rights Management effective against piracy?

There’s a powerful; argument that it doesn’t deter the pirates, and that all it really does is upset people who have purchased an ebook on one device and then have to buy it again to read it on another one.

Picture by Brett Jordan https://www.flickr.com/photos/x1brett/I read in The Bookseller’s briefing this morning that the publisher 2000AD, the home of the dreaded Judge Dredd, is making all of its titles available DRM-free – and applying this retrospectively to titles already bought.

I like their comment:

“We’ve always trusted our readers”
