Feb Linky Party and DT Tutorial and Love Challenge!

Hi Everyone,  today is the start of our February Linky Party and Design Team Valentine - Love' Challenge and New Specials!   I'm late posting for our Design Team as my computer is messed up and won't let me open or save any Word documents or copy links. So I'm winging it and re-wrote my post.  If anyone has ever had this problem (the little time circle  keeps spinning) please call my toll free # 1-888 597-8898.

After you check out all the great projects our DT ladies have made come back and see how I turned cards into Tissue Candle Wraps, and printed past samples onto Shrink Plastic Film Inkjet Sheets to create magnets, pins and cute mini embellishments!   Scroll down to see current Specials and ENTER OUR LINKY PARTY and receive a $6.00 coupon, plus 1 lucky winner will get a $50.00 Gift Card!

I used our Vintage Valentine Digital Kit for all my samples and started out making a couple of digital cards and I can always add some 3D dimension later by reprinting any part to pop up on pop dots, or add ribbon, glitter, lace, etc  but you will see how having a digital card will allow me to re-size, paste and reprint copies for different projects.  This card features Otis, our 18 year old diabetic and blind doggie who our youngest daughter Chelsea and her boyfriend have adopted and he is their baby now and doing great!

This card is I made for our daughter Holly who adopted Fred last year and they are smitten with each other.

You can tilt images and text with Photoshop Elements by tilting the text box or the image when you hover over the corner and use the double curved arrows.  I changed this to read Holly's Sweetie Fred by painting blue over Hello and using a similar font.

I still need to make a card for our oldest daughter and her boyfriend who have George, an 8 year old  boston terrier but I want to buy some some red pom-poms to add so I will show it next time.   Below are 2 candle wraps I created simply by pasting two 10" long designs together and printing them on tissue paper. Scroll below for tissue printing details.

You could also print candle wraps on freezer paper and the waxy side would adhere to candles using a hair dryer or heat gun. Here is a full Tutorial by DT Member Vicki Chrisman on Creating Tissue Printed Candles.
Also, here is a candle I made by stamping on tissue but you can do the same idea using digital stamps on a background and print it on tissue as well.

If you don't have candles you can always wrap printed images around a smooth glass, secure with tape, stickers or ribbon and add a battery or tea light candle.  If you clip the wick short the flame will get smaller.

I thought I would get a head start and make Scott his Valentine early. I still want to add some of the designs again like the rose and heart on pop-dots and some sparkle.

I was also playing around with a photo editing program (Portrait Professional) and I went to town on our photo and whitened our teeth and erased some wrinkles – so after 37 years together we don’t really look this good LOL!

Next I took some of the cards I made printed them on Ink Jet Shrink Plastic Film sheets, I bought from amazon and cut them out and baked in my oven at 300 degrees to shrink into magnets, pins and cute embellishments.  I do have some packages of the Shrink Plastic Sheets (6 sheets per pkg) for stamping with permanant ink like Stazon on CLEARANCE SALE for $2.50 a package! I ordered a case of the wrong kind last year and its by Grafix as well, it just won't work in my printer.

Here's a past post I did using Shrink Plastic Sheets with some of our stamps. Some of the stamps sets have sold out but it would be easy to print the digital on the Ink Jet sheets and the images are larger, where as many of the stamped images seemed too small after they shrunk.

I will be back with more Shrink Art projects as I made some with our Heart to Heart and Sewing Digital Stamp Sets.  I will have a bunch more ideas to share on what you can create from buttons, bottle embellishments, mini books and more!

Here's what is included in our Digital Valentine Download for $9.95 and this month our Free Printable is our Romance Printable Sheet, which is also still available in Cotton Scraps and on SALE now for $1.50

Now it's your turn to enter any sample in our Feb. Linky Party and receive a $6.00 coupon and 1 lucky winner will get a $50.00 Gift Card!

Thank you for saying how you do the candles - I have wondered about this ever since I saw one on someone's blog. They make a fabulous gift. I really like the doggie cards too - so sweet! Thanks for the linky party - I added my card yesterday but I wanted to come back to read about the candles and see the dogs. Have a great weekend!
