Caribbean prepares for
Bodhinatha's second visit
The satguru was delighted with the warm welcome and enthusiasm for Hinduism that he found in those countries during his first-ever visit, last year. And it seems he added to that enthusiasm himself, answering pressing questions, especially from the youth, shedding much-appreciated clarity in private meetings, media interviews and temple gatherings. Gurudeva's
teachings
in
Russian
"When I found Gurudeva's Trilogy on the internet, I was immediately captivated," explains Chandra Shekharan (formerly Alexander Ivantsov) a computer engineer living in Kiev, Ukraine. Eager to share the treasure, he set out on the Herculean task of translating the entire 3,000+ pages into Russian.
Two done, third coming soon! Dancing with Siva and Merging with Siva have already been completed and published (see photo), and Living with Siva is nearing completion! "Ukranians are mystically inclined," he explains, "and are naturally attracted to Hinduism when it is presented with clarity and relevance."
Impact. Russian is widely spoken in Ukraine and throughout the vast lands and populations of the former Soviet Union. And so, Chandra's translation will do much to help Hinduism be understood and appreciated in this important area of the world where it is still largely unknown.
