Somali Jihadi Pirates Seize Tanker

They’re baaaaack. The “water jihad” has resurfaced.

The seizure of a tanker this week reminds us that the threat of Somali pirates remains a recurring fact of life in the Age of Absurdity.

Why a bunch of flea-bitten, sea going punks cannot be put down, is a good question.

Maybe privatization isn’t such a bad idea: go counter-jihad on them.

“Ship Hijacking Shows Somali Piracy Threat Remains High, UN Says,” by Felix Njini, Bloomberg, March 16, 2017:

The hijacking of a fuel tanker off Somalia’s coast shows the threat still posed by pirates to one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes, a risk that may also hamper the Horn of African country’s efforts to explore for offshore oil and gas, a United Nations official said.

“This is absolutely a return of piracy,” Alan Cole, head of the UN’s Global Maritime Crime Programme, said of the March 13 hijacking of the Aris 13 freighter in waters off Somalia’s semi-autonomous Puntland region.

The tanker was the first ship seized off the Eastern Africa seaboard in five years. Hijackings in the region caused havoc for international shipping from about 2001 to 2012, peaking with 176 attacks in 2011. They declined in part because of actions by the European Union’s anti-piracy mission.

Somalia, trying to emerge from decades of civil war and defeat al-Qaeda-linked militants, is seeking to encourage foreign companies to explore for oil and gas in its waters. Piracy would be a “setback” in the government’s efforts, Cole said Thursday in a phone interview from Nairobi, the capital of neighboring Kenya.

Probable Deposits

Somalia’s government is keen for companies such as Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Exxon Mobil Corp. and BP Plc to return and resume exploration for what it says are probable offshore hydrocarbon deposits. The state has held talks with those companies about reactivating dormant contracts.

IHS Inc. in January 2016 said there was an increased risk from Somali pirates and that the majority of commercial shipping in the area no longer carried privately contracted armed security due to costs and perceptions there was no significant danger. Somalia’s government has also warned that illegal fishing by foreign vessels is threatening the livelihood of citizens, potentially leading some into piracy.

Somalia’s waters are remote and difficult to police, with no EU navy patrols in the area where the tanker was seized, according to Cole. The vessel may have traveled too close to shore and not fast enough, he said.

“Those parts of Somalia are still very dangerous,” Cole said. “Vessels need to take measures to protect themselves.”

Pirates are still “very much around” and, for them, “there is nothing else to do to make yourself rich other than criminal activities,” he said.

And result is there to see as the fake “refugees” don’t even spare the aid workers who help them to settle in america http://tinyurl.com/p8rdp7w

While the media does not want to cover these stories or play it down to keep the masses ignorant

The penalty for piracy used to quite severe and swiftly administered, get the America navy out of iranian waters, send them to the somali coast, the Americans definitely could use some target practice.

Rather send in South African mercenaries. They’ll take no prisoners just as they did when fighting Boko Haram in Nigeria. The U.S. Navy hasn’t yet shown much spine when in Iranian waters, so my faith in it has degerated.

True, best to send in a force that does not have restrictive to the point of stupid, rules of engagement.

I do agree with what you said of fraud C in C Obama, but still wonder about the negative effects of Obama on the military. Just consider the peculiar attitude of Mattis toward wanting pro-Obama/pro-Muslim Brotherhood Paterson in government, and consider the peculiar attitude of McMaster toward Trump saying that the enemy is “radical Islamic terrorism”. Even that is wrong, the problem is Islam itself, but at least Trump is far closer to the truth. As a matter of interest, the U.S. military hired South African mercenaries in Afghanistan to do something about the heroin trafficking. They were also hired in Iraq. Why? Because they are hard bitten and have a touch of ruthlessness that few possess.

Well, you had better hope that Trump over time learns what is good and bad advice. I’m a foreigner, yet still regard him the best chance the U.S. and the free world has of the U.S. getting out of the swamp. There is no point in being too critical and despondent because he was and is you best chance. Clinton would have been a total disaster. Trump has much to learn about Islam, disgusting Muslims and the fools in his cabinet who are ignorant of Islam. Just consider this, already Mattis’s stupid choice of Anderson has fallen by the wayside. Meawhile Mattis and McMaster have much to learn about Islam and in their present mindset are a danger to wise policies regarding Islam and the Muslim world.

Somalia is the most violent, lawless country on the planet. It has lacked a proper functioning government for decades, not because of any outside interference, but because vast numbers of its people behave like uncontrollable savages, preferring to be terrorists, warlords or pirates than law-abiding citizens.

BUT… to liberals in the West, the politically correct, the fantasists of multiculturalism, and the “diversity”-obsessed, they can do no wrong. Liberals see – and give the impression of hating – their own societies, accusing them of being too-white, too-Christian, which must be “enriched”. So to enforce multiculturalism and diversity, what could be better to replace the average educated, white Christian European/American/Australian than a low IQ, uneducated black African who is also a strict Muslim? The large numbers accepted by “pc/multikulti” Britain and Sweden are proof of that.

Can someone explain how a few pukes in a motorized inner-tube can overhaul and board an enormous tanker and take it over. That would be like me riding a child’s kiddie car overtaking and overpowering an eighteen-wheeler.

During WW2 some merchant ships were armed. Why can’t they be armed again? Hell even an LMG would ruin these muzzies day.

Piracy is ancient. Interestingly, only one world “religion” has ever sanctioned piracy.

There are all kinds of good ideas that would stop these pirates, but our world is run be wimpy liberals that are not willing to make an “unkind decision” to stop these low IQ pirates (the average IQ of somalis is 68, two points below what science labels as retarded).

It must have been a windy day since there’s no need for these thugs to hide their faces really. These muslamics don’t care who sees whatever they do – not even their garbage god.
