Why those in media bubble never got Trump’s rise – and still don’t

Here is a good summary piece on how out of touch the establishment media is. What Kurtz leaves out is the ever more obvious fact that many in the media are not just clueless because they’re caught in their little social bubbles, but actively malevolent — paid by Soros (see evidence here, here, and here) to help destroy Trump’s effort to make America great again.

Story continues below advertisement

“Why those in media bubble never got Trump’s rise – and still don’t,” by Howard Kurtz, Fox News, March 13, 2017:

This just in: There really is a liberal media elite that dwell in an isolated bubble.

And that, in turn, causes a disconnect from reality, as we saw during the 2016 campaign and which continues during the opening weeks of the Trump presidency.

Now data guru Nate Silver, who stumbled last year, has copped to the media’s tendency toward groupthink.

Silver hits on many of the themes that I’ve been talking about for a long time, and which many conservatives instinctively believe without wielding his number-crunching skills.

He now says on 538 that journalists have a hard time coping with something that is unthinkable, which is how most in the media biz viewed Donald Trump’s election. That was equally true during the primaries, as I remember from endless on-air debates in which I insisted the billionaire had a good shot, only to be told he would implode the next day, the next week, the next month.

If you immerse yourself in the mainstream coverage now, it often seems the administration is on the verge of collapse. But we learned on Friday that the economy created 235,000 jobs in February—“beating expectations,” in Wall Street lingo. Trump may or may not deserve credit for the drop to 4.7 unemployment, but the stock market surge does reflect growing economic optimism, and that matters more to many voters than who met with which Russian envoy.

Remember when the New York Times every day would say that Hillary Clinton had a 92 percent, or 91 percent, or 95 percent chance of winning? And there would be stories about her pushing into red states to aim for a landslide? It wasn’t that long ago.

Let’s go to Silver’s data: “For starters, American newsrooms are not very diverse along racial or gender lines, and it’s not clear the situation is improving much. And in a country where educational attainment is an increasingly important predictor of cultural and political behavior, some 92 percent of journalists have college degrees.”

So people trying to get by in this economy with a high school education are culturally alien.

“As of 2013, only 7 percent of them identified as Republicans (although only 28 percent called themselves Democrats with the majority saying they were independents).” No shocker there.

“The political news industry has become increasingly consolidated in Washington and New York as local newspapers have suffered from a decade-long contraction.” And fewer reporters head into flyover country to talk to actual voters….

How democrats see themselves.

Since they are atheists/Islamic sympathizers (I’m not going even down that road of contradictions), they actually see themselves as some kind of godlike figures, far superior in intellect and “people’s power” to any other political spectrum.
Of course the self centred ego boasts all this by many times.
When someone bursts their bubble of perfect ideals and solutions, they come out as animals or children, making a scene, attacking you without any reasonable or valid points.
In a way, the libtard world only works to the line where everything is perfect; crossing that line they meltdown and crash.

This article compels me to reply. Having seen the very bad fall that this nation was taking under Obama’s so-called leadership over the eight years that he served, and although I admit that I never voted for him, as I thought from the get go that he had no experience that would lend itself to running this country, something I sincerely believe he was unable to do with any competency, and believing that Hillary was both mentally incompetent and a pathetic liar, and that I came to the conclusion that the Democrats were pursuing a dangerous hand out society which was having a negative effect on what was happening to my country, leaving me with the belief that our youth had both lost their courage and understanding of what it took to be a productive citizen of this country, I chose not to give my support to her. On the other hand, I admit that Trump gave me the impression that he was a “street fighter” who also possessed real business leadership experience, which I considered assets, though I also realized that his demeanor was often times inappropriate; nevertheless, I concluded he offered the best background for the job at hand, and I chose to vote for him. What bothers me today, is the conduct of those out there, which includes the liberal media, the Democrats, and others, who have been so impacted by his election that they are doing everything that they can do to frustrate all of his efforts to bring greatness back to our country. I see this daily in the articles that accuse reasonable conduct that recognizes the realities that we face as “bigotry and racism.” Trump is no more a racist than you or I. He approaches issues from the perspective of a businessman, something that I think this country needs from its leaders. I am mortified with what I see as “manufactured headlines” which are directed as those who will be taken in by the headline without being able to see thru the intention of the writers who wish to demean our President. If anyone has become “bigoted” it is the media and those who march aimlessly in support of untrue claims, when all the evidence about Trump so far is that he is doing more to straighten out this country than others before him. We all need to keep our guard up to recognize those out there who are so concerned about their loss of power that they will do anything to bring our leader down. Long live those who think reasonably and responsibly.

Well said, Dennis. Those who supported Trump him should give him whole-hearted support, particularly at a time like this. Even he must be surprised by the mentally ill liberal hatred. John McCain exemplifies everything that is wrong with the Republican ‘establishment’. They want the gravy train and to hell with America. Is McCain even ‘luke warm’. He and Lindsey Graham might just as well join the disgusting Democrats. They’re about as useless as a teet on a bull. Paul Ryan is another man who appears to have a foot in each camp and has entirely lost any admiration I might have had for him. With friends like these who needs enemies?

Silver himself is deluded, thinks leftists are smarter than conservatives.

The liberals always pretend that they are smarter than conservatives, which is possibly not true as a significant number of incarcerated criminals also believe they are much smarter than average, it is merely unfortunate circumstance they are in jail, a debatable point. Not unlike liberals who cannot govern anything without destroying it through manipulation, neglect, and exploitation, the state of Caliph-porny and province of Ontario in Canada, as well as the european union typify the destruction caused by liberal socialism.

Speaking of incarceration, I would bet any amount of money that there are more Democrats serving time in the crapper than Republicans. Death row is filled with Democrats.

Agreed. Ever notice how the media tries to connect the most egregious public shooters with conservatism as a first reaction but Lee Harvey Oswald was a communist and the the bulk of the remainder have never voted?

The lame stream media is a rotting corpse of a has been force. It panders to like minded fools who are incapable of cognizant thought. As media outlets go bankrupt from loss of clientele the remains ones do not see the connection between lying and financial insolvency. No loss as they go.

If you want to see what real liberalism is just watch public tv news program daily. They never invite anyone who is not on the left. They keep inviting the same people to give opinions on happenings. Friday David Brooks, never never anyone else.

Even David Brooks cannot be trusted. I use to watch Shields and Brooks but quit because Brooks mostly aligned with Shields and the News Hour is just as bad. PBS does have some good documentaries.

carpe diem 36 hit the nail on the head so well that I laughed. What he said exemplifies CNN, although I will say that I’d replace his “never invite anyone who is not on the left” to ‘seldom’ invite’, but when they do too often they are passive individuals like Rick Santorum, a nice fellow, but hardly a fighter who will tell them to take their rubbish and shove it where the sun don’t shine.

Who can forget? During the campaign Trump could fill a stadium or auditorium with 30,000 until the local fire marshal said that was the limit, leaving near as many standing outside, while Hillary could not even fill a high school gym. Yet the media predicted a 62%-38% Hillary advantage the night before voting started. I was born at night but it wasn’t last night.

I think the media had been bamboozled, with Mr Obama for 8 years and Mrs Clinton vying for another 4 years, at least, that ‘statesman’/’stateswoman’ meant somebody who adjusted himself/herself successfully to existing conditions. It never dawned on them that the real statesman might be the person who says the present conditions are unfit and need to be changed.

If President Trump stays on course (with ruffling feathers and all), he will probably be one of the greatest Presidents that the Republic (241 yrs comes this July 4th) ever had! God Bless America, The Land of The PX and President Trump!!

A great word ‘malevolent’ when describing the prevailing mood: ‘malicious, hostile, evil-minded, baleful, evil-intentioned, venomous, evil, malign, malignant, rancorous, vicious, vindictive, vengeful’. No one captures the mood more graphically than do the mindlessly unoriginal CNN “group-think” panels assembled a few times a day with old hacks like Gloria Borger leading the charge in talking hackneyed drivel. I watch for a second or two or either turn of or change channel, but if to a Canadian channel be sure it will, if not immediately, soon be of a ‘me to’ nature. A total ass in Ottawa leads the country down the drain, but never mind the focus is on Trump. So original, decade after decade!

They never will. It’s easier to claim that you’ve cheated, than accept that your team just shoot itself in the butt. Hillary is a crook. The left establishment is a sell out, and does not get it , that most Americans don’t want their policies.

But they have a solution for that, create a new majority of ass kissing illegals in order to overthrow the right for good and establish a left dictatorship.
But no matter how that turns out, it’s not going to end how they want to.

The lefties have way too much to complain about everyone who they don’t like, right wingers have way too much to complain about everything they don’t like. Pretty equal.
