'Inept' Obama's radical migrant plan risks COLLAPSE as states revolt amid TERROR concerns

President Obama's radical plan to let in hundreds of thousands of refugees already risks collapse just days after the announcement.

The US leader revealed a worldwide plan at the UN summit to take in 360,000 refugees next year.

He also told world leaders that the US itself will welcome more than 100,000 desperate migrants.

However, the plan has already been hit by a revolt among US states. 

Texas has told the US government that it will refuse to house any refugees.

The Texan withdrawal comes after both Kansas and New Jersey pulled out of the resettlement programme following "security concerns".

Governor Greg Abbott echoed these fears after he said the resettlement program was "riddled with serious problems that pose a threat to our nation".

Last year, nearly 30 states vowed to block Syrian refugees following the shocking Paris attacks.

Texas previously sued the federal government in a failed attempt to block resettlements.

He condemned the US Government's "inability to fully screen refugees from terrorist-based nations".

The state's revolt came as State Department spokesman John Kirby acknowledged that ISIS terrorists were trying to mingle with refugee populations overseas in the hopes of making it to the US in disguise.

Mr Kirby told the press: "I wouldn't debate the fact that there's the potential for ISIS terrorists to try to insert themselves, and we see that in some of the refugee camps in Jordan and in Turkey, where they try to insert themselves into the population.

"Is the process perfect? Can it be perfect? Can it be foolproof? Well, probably not, no."

The acknowledgement comes after the Department of Homeland Security inspector general's office released a report showing that 858 individuals from countries "of concern to the national security" were mistakenly granted U.S. citizenship instead of being deported. 

President Obama pledged to accept roughly 110,000 refugees from around the world in 2017, a 60 percent increase over this year’s total.

But, the Texan Governor has refused to cooperate with President Obama, the Government could still force the refugees onto the state.

Sources say federal officials could bypass the state in coordinating resettlements with local charities.

President Obama framed the Syrian refugee crisis as a “test of our common humanity” and criticised opponents of resettlement.

He said: "To slam the door in the face of these families would betray our deepest values.

"It would deny our own heritage as nations, including the United States of America, that have been built by immigrants and refugees.

"History will judge us harshly if we do not rise to this moment."

But, Governor Abbott hit back: "Even with the inability to properly vet refugees from Syria and countries known to be supporters or propagators of terrorism, President Obama is now ineptly proposing a dramatic increase in the number of refugees to be resettled in the US

"The federal government lacks the capability or the will to distinguish the dangerous from the harmless, and Texas will not be an accompice to such dereliction of duty to the American people."

He added: "Empathy must be balanced with security. Texas has done more than its fair share in aiding refugees, accepting more refugees than any other state.

"While many refugees pose no danger, some pose grave danger, like the Iraqi refugee with ties to ISIS arrested earlier this year after he plotted to set off bombs at two malls."

The United States had originally offered refuge to far fewer migrants than many of those in the West. 

Germany has taken in over a million refugees from Syria, North Africa and Asia in the last year, while Canada admitted nearly 30,000.

But, questions over refugee vetting have been raised again after the weekend bombings in New York and New Jersey, carried out by a US national born in Afghanistan.
