Acer Stalks PC Rivals With Vicious ‘Predator’ Tablets, Notebooks, Desktops And Gaming Monitors
IFA Berlin is underway and that means there will be plenty of hot news for gamers this week. On the hardware side of things, Acer took the wraps off a ton of new gaming hardware, including gaming desktops, notebooks, monitors, and a tablet. All of the new gaming devices are part of Acer’s Predator line, which features black and red coloring.
Acer Predator 8
One of the most interesting additions to the Predator line is the Predator 8, an 8-inch, Android-based tablet designed expressly for gaming. The tablet’s display is full HD thanks to a 1920 x 1200 resolution. The Predator 8 has an Intel Atom x7 CPU and MIMO 2x2 for better wireless performance. The tablet is capable of tactile feedback, thanks to the TacSense feature.
The Predator notebooks come in 15-inch and 17-inch flavors, but they’ll share much of the same hardware, including Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 graphics and an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor. You’ll be able to opt for as much as 32GB or memory and long-term storage will be in the form of NVMe SSDs.
Acer Predator 17
Two gaming desktops, the Acer Predator G3 and G6 will feature Intel processors and Nvdia graphics. The G6 is already available and has a Turbo button for gamers who don’t want to spend time (and void warranties) meddling with the hardware to get a performance boost. Both systems will include Acer’s IceTunnel cooling system.

Acer also highlighted its Predator XB1 Series gaming monitors, which include 27-inch and 28-inch models. The 4K monitors have Nvidia G-Sync and will be arriving in November.

Non-gaming Acer products that shared the spotlight at IFA Berlin include the R13 convertible, which is getting a hardware refresh and the R11 Chromebook, which is a convertible with an HD touch screen. Acer also announced some slick smartphones running Android 5.1 and Windows 10, but it hasn’t said when the smartphones are likely to hit North America.
