This book is perfect for little kids who are freaked out by monster masks and costumes at Halloween time. Little Hoo is startled by ghosts and monsters knocking on his door, but each time the "monster" is quickly revealed as a friend in disguise, and once everyone has arrived they have a fun party!

This is a short book, told in simple, repetitive language (perfect for short attention spans and beginningreaders), illustrated with warmth and attention to detail.

Note: there are illustrations of a simple ghost costume, a Frankenstein's monster mask, and a witch's black pointy hat. None of them are used in a way that is intended to be frightening, but I can see how my very sensitive 3-year-old might have been scared by them anyway.

I am already SO tired of this book! My grandson (a week away from turning two) has me read this book to him over, and over, and over.... He LOVES it and thinks it is so funny. We always read books before he takes a nap. Yesterday was the FIRST time he has asked for a book AFTER he woke up from his nap! Little Hoo is a hit at my house!

Too short. This book is about ten pages long and is really the same story repeated every two pages. If it was at least twice as long I would've been willing to pay twice as much and enjoyed reading the book to my child.

This book was ordered under the pretence of a book for a 4 year old, as recommended in the Kindle Store for 3-5 year olds. The book is mainly for under 3's, in my belief.

Also, there appears to be no way of getting the book onto my computer. It is all stuck in the Kindle Cloud. Really annoying, when you don't use a Kindle, or the Kindle Cloud for reading on a laptop. That is poor customer service in my opinion.

Addendum to my comment above: it is easy to install Kindle for PC onto a computer, and then order books that are available for this service on Amazon. Unfortunately, not all e-books are available for Kindle for PC on Amazon. I have now upgraded the score to 4 stars, as my 4 year old actually likes the book!!

We have been collecting all the books by Brenda Ponnay! They keep our kids attention and they request them over and over!! She pays a lot of attention to the details in her books and the kids are huge fans!!!

I bought this in late September to read to my four year old niece and two year old nephew for Halloween. They enjoyed it and had me read it a few times leading up to the holiday. Well, here we are coming up on Thanksgiving and my nephew still asks me to read him this book!

My nephew Aiden was really excited about the book. He liked all of the characters in the book. All of the characters were his favorites.

Very disappointed with this book. Far too short. My 3 year old son was only getting into it when it was over! He had no interest in reading it again!
