The BEST Places To Work

By
Education & Training with Retired Executive Director of Education at eXp Non-Licensed

ActiveRain is one of the funnest places to work!

See what I mean?

Back in the day, when I was the full-time community manager here working with Bob Stewart and Jonathan Washburn, I had more fun than I think one person should be allowed to have. Working with the staff and AR members was an incredible and fun experience. Everyday was something new and usually unexpected.

I'm sure it's still the same... :-)

A few years later, some major changes took place.  I'll never forget the advice Jon gave me "that day" when my time on AR was coming to pass. He said, "You should really try to go and work for Zillow!"  So I did!  Thanks Jon for that great bit of foresight and advice.

You already know that Zillow is a great place to work, (if it wasn't, I wouldn't still be here 2 years later) but I am also really excited and thrilled to share that others think so too.  Zillow was just named No.14 on Seattle Met magazine’s Best Places to Work 2013 list.  (We're not giving up until we're number one!)

We couldn’t have achieved this honor without each and every employee – in every office - who truly make Zillow a great place to work.  Oh yeah, and I'd be totally remiss if I forgot to mention that we’re hiring too!

Seattle’s New Workplaces
… see what other employees have to say.

So you see, I have been blessed to work with two great companies from "A" to "Z" and one of the best perks at both companies is getting to work with and be surrounded by great friends and some of the smartest and funnest people I have ever known in the real estate space.

Thanks Jon for your suggestion and advice, thanks Zillow management and staff for making our company one of the BEST places to work, and thank you ActiveRain friends and family for your continued, love, friendship, and support.  May 2013 be the best year ever for the real estate industry.

Happy Holidays To You All~

It is Tom. I can honestly say that it's one of the best companies and jobs I've had since I got into the industry back in 1986.  If you're ever in Seattle, I'd love to give you a tour of the office. Merry Christmas to you as well.  :-)

Debbie - That is so true, both opportunities I'm so glad I was granted.

ActiveRain is where I connected with (and learned) from so many great people. Zillow is where I've been able to apply what I've learned to help many others with their business. I do love working at Zillow, and even more than that, I love what I do for the company and for the people in the industry.

Helping others is not really a job to me, and it's so much more than an adventure. It's a career that I'm very passionate about because at the end of the day, what matters most to me is seeing others succeed and knowing that I may have been even a small contributing factor to their success. Zillow lets (employs me) to do the one thing I love most... help others!

Thanks for taking the time to read, comment, and most of all, for being a friend. That's the greatest gift of all.  :)

Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Thanks Michele - and you're right. "When one door closes, another door opens" is such a commonly used phrase, but it has a much deeper meaning to me. Looking back, those doors were doing some crazy things in my life.

Those that know me or who followed my career story here on ActiveRain, know exactly what I mean. Miracles do happen, and in time, opportunity knocks and doors really do open.
(Wow, reviewing those posts just now really made me realize just how true that is.)

Have an awesome Christmas and New Year! :-)

Merry Christmas, Brad! You are very good at what you do at Zillow.  I have got to get up to Seattle one day!  You guys have all the best technology info and all the fun!  By the way, I have been working on my Zillow site and it looks much better.  I have been using it in my Active Rain posts.  Check it out:  www.MetroAtlantaHomeDeals.com

Christine - Seattle is a wonderful place to live and work.  I get to visit the main office fairly often and get to also enjoy the benefits of living here in the Bay Area where I was born and raised. Blessed with the best of both worlds for sure! :-)

Bill - great to hear from you and see that you're still here. So many of the original members that started and built this network have gone on to other places and platforms to continue their real estate online networking journey's. I miss the old AR too but more than that I really miss the people that made this place so unique and the culture so coveted.

Happy New Year Hannah, I sure miss those RainCamp days as well.  The virtual ones they do now just aren't the same as being there live.  There's nothing like getting to rub elbows and exchange ideas, tips, and hugs with other members.

Have an awesome year, and hopefully I'll get to see you at another real estate gathering or event this year.  :-)
