    Horses have been used in many aspects of war and fighting for thousands of years. It is great to see a book that reminds us of the important role that horses have played.

    As an Aussie I remember how our Light Horse men fought in the Middle East and gained the liberation of Be'er Sheva in Israel. We actually have a Light Horse Museum just down the road from where I live. So I really enjoyed reading this book and looking at all the pictures.

    Thanks for writing a book so kids can learn the important role that horses have played in many battles over thousands of years!

    Did you know that horses were used in war for over 5,000 years? European knights needed heavy horses (up to 2,000lbs) due to all their armor. Learn about how war horses were used by the ancient Egyptians, Romans and Greeks. A chapter is even included on the Trojan horse. Even in World War I, horses played an important role. By the time World War II came along, horses were not involved in the fighting but were very much involved behind the lines. Find out how important they were and what their role was in this book.
