Now all of a sudden the enemedia cares about human rights violations in Muslim countries? Incredible. Obama gave billions to Muslim countries with long records of human rights violations — most notably the Islamic Republic of Iran — and the AP and WaPo and CNN never said a word. Bloody hypocrites. Their only interest is in bringing President Trump down.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — As President Donald Trump opened his keynote address in Saudi Arabia, he lavished praise on the “magnificent” kingdom and “the grandeur of this remarkable place.”
Then he made clear there would be no public lecture from America on Saudi Arabia’s abysmal human rights record.
“We are not here to tell other people how to live, what to do, who to be, or how to worship,” Trump declared Sunday.
Trump’s willingness to set aside human rights as a principal foreign policy has been one constant in his chaotic administration. Yet the absence of any public reference to the the kingdom’s treatment of women and political opponents during his two-day visit was still jarring, particularly when contrasted with his affectionate embrace of the royal family.
The closest Trump came to acknowledging the human rights situation was a call for the region’s leaders to stand together against “the oppression of women.” A White House official later said the president did raise women’s rights in his private meetings with Saudi officials, and noted that administration officials broached the topic in their talks in the lead-up to the trip. The official insisted on anonymity in order to discuss the private meetings.
To be sure, Trump’s predecessors have also forged close ties with Saudi Arabia, an important U.S. partner in the Middle East, and other nations with questionable human rights records. But in their own ways, former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush each vouched for American values in their dealings with those nations, including the kingdom….

Trump has been a champion of real women’s rights, like the right to not have an FGM forced upon her, the right to not have an honor killing done to her, etc. The media has been silent on those matters. Maybe it is the right to drive a car or get an abortion that they really care about.

They are the richest most powerful kingdom on earth when you consider how they manipulate the oil market and currencies to drive competition out of the market and spread their form of orthodox islam to ignite terrorism all over. He’s going to play nice to get them to pick up the tab to clean up the middle east and give us money in the process. Trump is nothing if not a money grubber but I believe he is serving some positive spiritual purpose too. We’ll see how it all plays out.

America was a major force in the enrichment of the Islamic kingdom. After the embargo of the 1973-74 period, we bowed low to get oil. We had the means and should have been energy independent long ago. Now the West Texas oil shale boom is beginning to upset the OPEC/Saudi game.
North Dakota will also be a major player if the price rises to $70 and, as you said, we’ll see how this plays out.

You’re committing a fallacy of argumentation known as false equivalence. Because there is no such thing as “orthodox islam”. There are no such things as orthodox mosques or orthodox imams or orthodox muslum states.

I was searching for a word there. The correct would be “wahhabism”. There are slight doctrinal differences amongst sects and practice but the following the quran closely is sort of the orthodox equivalent.

They have “Manipulated” oil down to $50 a barrel today . . . . from way over $100 . . . lol
Trump opened up Federal lands and the Coasts to US Exploration and will make the USA self sufficient in oil and gas. Which will keep Billions of dollars IN the USA not flowing to the middle east.
Trump has challenged these ME countries to address the madness in their midst . . . going to be interesting to see it play out !
Certainly a far cry from the Oblamo Appology Tour and catering to the Terrorist Brotherhood !

CNN, as we all know, is a daily laughing stock to every conscious person with a fifth grade education everywhere.
Today they’re right back on top of Nut-job-gate, the crisis of existential import to the nation, the world, and all the gods on Mt Olympus.
Now the trenchant analysis of Jay Newton-Small (a woman, I think), a “contributor” to Time magazine is that Trump will just toss off jabs like “nut-job” to obama’s FBI director “like he dismissed Lindsey Graham as a nut-job or Kim Jung Un as a nut-job.”
So, if Trump will call Kim Jung Un a nut-job, what verbal offense to everything decent and good won’t he insult, right, Newton-Small?
At which point CNN anchor Poppy Harlow felt compelled to reel it in a bit, interjecting something about how even McMaster declined to deny that Trump actually said “…nut job, et cetera.” Even to a committed party mouthpiece and functionary as Harlow, “nut-job” alone must have seemed to not quite cut it.
So she had to toss to the most hard-core junta inner-circle bag-man, Washington Post editor David Zwerdling, who defaulted immediately to… wait for it… RUSSIA!
If Trump would call obama’s FBI director a nut-job, then Trump would clearly have passed the most highly classified secrets essential to our country’s survival to the Russian foreign minister in the Oval Office. To the foreign minister of RUSSIA, Zwerdling says, Russia! “One of our most if not our number one most dangerous enemy in the world.”
Like obama and all of our enemies domestic, Zwerdling is always playing the shell game of enemies with us: Is it Russia? Is it the KKK? Is it North Korea? No, it’s Russia. Look over here. Not Iran? No. Must be Russia!

Trump, while stopping short of uttering the phrase “Islamic terrorism,” practically circumscribed it. He could hardly have turned the table on his hosts, this was the most he could do at an event like this. He delivered a great speech, much to the chagrin of the leftist media.
Had he openly called out his hosts for supporting Islamic terror, the same media would have been beside themselves for Trump wading into the room like an elephant and causing unneeded havoc.
