Sharia in New Jersey: Gov. Chris Christie vetoes child marriage ban

[the_ad id=”90513″]

Gov. Chris Christie stood in opposition that would have banned all underage marriage citing religious freedom. Does Christie sanction female genital mutilation, gender apartheid, creed apartheid, jihad terror and Islamic Jew-hatred, citing religious freedom?

Is anyone surprised that Governor Christie would come down on the side of sharia law? This is the man who said, ” Sharia Law business is just crap… and I’m tried of dealing with the crazies.”

Story continues below advertisement

How about the victims of child marriage, forced marriage — is he tired of dealing with those crazies, too?

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie conditionally vetoed legislation Thursday that would have banned all underage marriage in New Jersey.

The bill aimed to change current New Jersey law, which permits 16- and 17-year-olds to get married with parental consent and those under the age of 16 to marry with the approval of a family court judge. A republican sponsored the bill, but Christie stood in opposition, citing religious freedom and noting the age of consent in New Jersey is 16, reports Politico.

Unchained At Last, a non-profit group that seeks to help women in arranged and forced marriages, estimates there have been at least 3,600 marriages in New Jersey involving someone under the age of 18 between 1995 and 2015 and 166 of those involved children 15-years-old or younger.

[the_ad id=”90673″]

“The shocking truth is that child marriage is legal right now in New Jersey, and it’s shocking that thousands of children have been married here recently, most of them minor girls married to adult men,” Fraidy Reiss, executive director of Unchained at Last, said in a committee hearing, according to Politico.

Christie instead wants all marriages involving children under the age of 16 banned, but suggests allowing 16 and 17-year-olds to marry with the oversight of a judge. Christie said given state laws governing sex and abortion, “it is disingenuous to hold that a 16-year-old may never consent to marriage.”

“An exclusion without exceptions would violate the cultures and traditions of some communities in New Jersey based on religious traditions,” Christie wrote in the veto message, according to Philly.com. “Judicial oversight would permit consideration of these factors in the 16 and 17-year-old timeframe.”

Sorry folks but as much as I hate to admit it, Christie has a valid point. NJ law allows minors as young as 16 to engage in sex and have abortions without anyone else’s “consent.” Therefore, if they are thus, ‘legally’ old enough at 16 to consent to sex or to having a major surgical procedure (abortion) then, they are old enough to consent to marriage as well.
Don’t like it, get the age of consent raised from 16 to 18 otherwise, shut up. Till then, he’s just following the pattern already established under current law.

Son, you have some serious comprehension and social problems.
First off, your ad hominem attack is baseless and pointless.
Second off, in no way did I express ‘approval’ of NJ’s laws. I simply stated that Christie was acting within accordance of the laws as they are presently written and so, criticizing him for this is an act of futility.
So, perhaps you should stop making threats against people you shouldn’t be threatening and have no valid reason to threaten. Besides, keyboard warriors like you are a dime a dozen.

The point being made is that Christie vetoed a bill that would have given him a chance to prevent legal child abuse in N.J. For you to say it is futile to criticize him only gives an impression that you were defending his position. Either I misunderstood your point or you misrepresented yourself.

Please don’t call me son; I’m probably old enough to be a grandfather to most people on this forum, yet as an Honorably Discharged Veteran (legally locked and loaded) who once sworn in to fight for and defend the Constitution, I never knew that I would one day live in a country where people would try to “normalize” pedophilia as another “orientation” as Christie did by vetoing the bill.

If I misunderstood you I apologize; It sounded like you were defending him because criticizing (judging) perverts is never futile. Someone, somewhere will listen to an angry soldier and it may actually save at least one child from a harmful government like New Jersey.

As for me? I will continue to fight for abused children anyway that I can because in my view, as a father and a grandfather, the “age of consent” should be 21.

First, thank you for your service Rayj and also for your follow-up comment.
Second, yes, you did misunderstand, at first, what I was saying, perhaps I was not as clear as I could have been. I did follow-up my own original comment by writing an addendum to it (comment below).
Lastly, as a Marine veteran and also a “grandfather” 3x’s over, I agree with you about fighting to defend our children from abuse. That fight should begin with not only the immediate subject at hand, but also with stopping the liberal left’s indoctrination of our youth in the public school systems to accept such things as homosexuality, transgenderism, and if things continue as they have, ultimately pedophilia.
Unfortunately, as things now stand, “legally,” Christie was acting according to the law and while I despise Christie for the RINO that he is, the problem is greater than him, it is the law as written, or perhaps I should say the “laws” as written that allow many of the things we now see which will inevitibly lead to the final destruction of America. The Constitutional Republic, as founded, is already dead and short of a miracle of God, cannot be revived.

Thousands of young girls are marrying adult men:
1) The girls are paid for and don’t have to give their consent.
2) A girl who refuses brings shame onto her family and can be
beaten, shot in the face, doused with acid, etc.
3) The old man can beat her and pour boiling water on her
if his supper is cold.

The girl may be marrying her first cousin or uncle which is the custom
and sanctioned my the most perfect man, Muhammed. It’s been proven
in dogs, farm animals, and Muslims: inbreeding produces inferior offspring
with higher probability of birth defects.

Addendum to my original comment above:

Some people seem to take my comment as being approval of Christie and/or the laws as currently written. That is not the case. READ WHAT WAS WRITTEN, NOT WHAT YOU READ INTO WHAT WAS WRITTEN!!!
I hate having to admit Christie had a valid point but he does. Legally. I know full well that the Muslim community will and do take every advantage they can to corrupt the nations in which they can be found. That is a separate matter.
It’s about time people start waking up.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again and again until it becomes a reality:
Islam should be eradicated from the face of the earth for the moral/social/religious plague that it is. Since that will never likely happen until the coming of the LORD in Judgment, the next best thing is for all civilized nations to ban Islam from their nations and to DEPORT ALL MUSLIMS, whether imported (immigrant) or homegrown (citizen).
That is, all Muslims in any civilized nation, after having been given the opportunity to renounce forever, the religion of Islam and having origins in another nation should be deported to their country of origin (regardless of current citizen/resident status) If their country of origin is another civilized nation where Islam is banned, then they are to be shipped to the nearest Islamic nation. All homegrown Muslims, after having the same opportunity to renounce Islam, should, upon refusal, be stripped of their citizenship and deported to the nearest Islamic country. Again, Islam should be banned from all civilized nations, the Muslims in those nations offered the chance to remain if they renounce Islam and if they love Islam more than the nation where they live, they can go live in an Islamic nation, freeing the rest of the world from the moral and social perversion that is Islam. Oh, I forgot to mention, under the umbrella of all Muslims needing to renounce Islam or be deported, that includes Islamic sympathizers/promoters. The ban on Islam including, of course, any promotion or defense of it.
Those Muslims who elect to remain Muslims and be deported should be allowed to keep all their moveable assets – cash, stocks, moveable physical property, etc. – and be allowed to sell any non-portable assets – houses, land, etc. – and take the money with them. Their deportation costs being covered by the government.
Of those Muslims and/or Islamic apologists that remain, having taken the pledge to renounce Islam forever, upon conviction of returning to the practice/defense of Islam there should be an immediate seizure of all assets, financial or real property followed by immediate, as in within 24 hours, deportation. This deportation being covered by the sale of their seized physical assets and any financial assets they had. They are to be transported with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
If you think these terms are harsh, think again. If you live in a Muslim country and are a Christian, Buddhist, Animist, whatever other than Muslim, you face far worse, you face anything from long-term imprisonment up to and including beheading. So I say to hell with Islam.
Oh, and it goes without saying, we in the USA should begin with Obummer and every member of his Criminal Enterprise Regime and the Deep State he formed within the Government
Endnote: Not all Arabs are Muslims, this is not about “race” but about good vs evil, about the moral offense that is Islam.

Not only are they not on our ‘enemy’ list, they are actually ADVISING Trump on muslim issues. Trump is NOT who supporters believe him to be.

Islam’s sharia law that allows fricken old men to take children, young girls to be their wives should be outlawed in this country that is not compatible to our Constitution and does not belong in America. That is for pure perverts, sexual abusers. Shame on Chris Christi Thank God he never got elected and hope he is ousted from the Governorship as well. Why is it when I look up those that attack Trump are majority Catholic.

Chris Cristi
He is a cradle Catholic.
Christie was born to Catholic parents and baptized in the faith as an infant. As a child, he spent a lot of time with his grandmother, going to Mass with her everyday. Now he’s fond of telling this story: One day, he decided to stop praying because “it didn’t work.” He had prayed to God for a good grade on a test and still got a C. Her answer: “No Chris, you’re wrong. God always answers your prayers. But sometimes the answer is no.”

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/07/04/chris-christie-faith_n_7700634.html

I been looking at history of early Christianity and Islam through the years and what I find is that allot of people seem to be spot on that there is something wrong with Roman Catholicism. The Vatican even protects Archbishop George Pell in not sending him back ro answer questions on Child abuse besides the vast numbers of Roman Catholic clergy crimes for child abuse

And not too far back in time Pope Francis applogises for Rwanda Genicide, where nuns priest participated in Genicide, and I can give others as well.

For 2000 years the Roman Catholic Church has had so much corruption, look up bad Popes.

What we have had is one Roman Catholic Church setting the rules and making themsselves above Kings, even with Popes saying that Allah is the same God as Christian God. Bells should be ringing in every Ronan Catholic but no. Just like Iskam speak against Islam your a apostate, The Roman Catholic Church use Heretic to kill many millions through the centuries even turing the Fourth Crusade against Constantinople, the backbone of Christian faith In attacking Constantinople the Vatican gets Rome returned, and it was not on unpaid money as we are led to believe

In short I would say Roman Catholicism created Islam

What happened in first 600 years still rings bells today and the many cover ups and not telling what people need to know.

I spent some time today researching Muhammad’s relations with Christianity, as I will do various parts of history and discovering. I believe I know the answer as others do but we just need to confirm it with some form of documentation. Most has been destroyed

Catholicism is not Christian. Many of it’s rites, rituals and laws are in direct opposition to the mandates written in the bible, which for most Catholics is a mystery as they have their own version of God’s holy word.

“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.” Deuteronomy 4:2 KJV God to Israel.

Although the following article doesn’t cover every instance where the Catholic Church is in direct violation of the biblical law, it does hit on many;

“Are Roman Catholicism and Christianity the same thing?”
by Matt Slick

No, Roman Catholicism and Christianity are not the same thing. Christianity is properly defined by certain doctrines that are revealed in the Bible. It is not defined by simply saying that as long as you believe in Jesus, you’re a Christian. Mormons believe in Jesus, but their Jesus is a brother of the devil in the pre-existence. The Jesus of the Jehovah’s Witnesses is Michael the Archangel. So, just saying you believe in Jesus doesn’t make you a Christian. This is why the Bible tells us who Jesus really is–God in flesh, creator of the universe. Likewise, there are essential doctrines; and if any of those essential doctrines are violated, then a church would only appear to be Christian but not really be Christian. What are those doctrines? The Bible tells us. Let’s take a look.

There is only one God, and you are to serve no other gods (Exodus 20:3; Isaiah 43:10; 44:6, 8).
Jesus is both God and man (John 1:1, 14; 8:24; Col. 2:9; 1 John 4:1-4).
Jesus rose from the dead physically (John 2:19-21; 1 Cor. 15:14).
Salvation is by grace through faith (Rom. 5:1; Eph. 2:8-9; Gal. 3:1-2; 5:1-4).
The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus according to the scriptures (1 Cor. 15:1-4; Gal. 1:8-9).
God is a Trinity (Matt. 28:19; 1 Cor. 12:4-6; 2 Cor. 13:14).
Jesus was born of the virgin Mary (Matt. 1:25).

So, someone who is a true Christian will believe these things and not violate them. Roman Catholicism violates two of them (#1 and #4). First of all, by its practice of promoting Mary (and the Saints) to the level of God-like capabilities, they break the commandment to have no other gods before the true and living God. In Roman Catholicism, they say that Mary is the mediatrix (Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 969); Mary made atonement for the sins of man (Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma, page 213); Mary is the subject of preaching and worship (Vatican Council II, p. 420); etc.

Also, Catholicism violates the biblical doctrine of salvation by grace through faith alone. Paul the apostle, for example, tells us in Romans 4:5, “But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness.” But Roman Catholicism denies that and says, ” . . . so that all men may attain salvation through faith, Baptism and the observance of the Commandments,” (CCC, par 2068). Also, consider this:

“If any one saith, that by faith alone the impious is justified; in such wise as to mean, that nothing else is required to co-operate in order to the obtaining the grace of Justification, and that it is not in any way necessary, that he be prepared and disposed by the movement of his own will; let him be anathema” (Council of Trent, Canons on Justification, Canon 9).

So, even though Roman Catholicism claims to be Christian and that it is the one true church, it violates the essentials of the Christian faith. It goes beyond what is written in God’s word (1 Cor. 4:6). It denies the sole and true sovereignty of the living God by promoting prayer to and the worship of Mary. Also, it denies justification by faith alone in Christ alone. It is not a Christian church.

the 16 and 17 year old still needs parent consent to get married, why not change the bill to no child under the age of 16 can marry for any reason and 16 and 17 year old’s need court approval in order to get married, not just a parents consent, this is the kind of bill he will sign

I always thought under 18 needs to be emancipated by the court first even to be able to live on there own.

No 16 an 17 year olds can get married with parental consent and can actually live on their own if they can find a place willing to rent to them and again they need their parents signature, but even if they are living on their own the parents are still responsible for them, emancipation is so the teen is responsible for themselves and the parents no longer have a say or a legal obligation over them.

I’am ashamed I voted for this obese P.O.S. Several years ago he appointed a Muslim Pig as a NJ Superior Court Judge. It’s now clear, he is an operative of the Democrat-Communist-Islamic Terrorist Organization.
He should find obama and hug him again on the down low.

Far be it for me to intrude into private grief, but what the heck, I’m here now.

This bloke is much like David Cameron was, not a signpost but a weather cock, he swings first one way then he swings the other {pardon the pun}, politicians like him are like a dodgy compass, they don’t tell you the truth but what they think you would like to hear to prevent being thrown overboard with the other rubbish.

If he’s so keen to support “religious freedom” for a special group in NJ, where will he draw the line about that which Allah demands? After all, gays being gay in public offend the faithful severely, will he support gays being pushed off high buildings, you have a few.

In Britain as well as on the continent, the issue of what constitutes “consent” in a young girl is very relevant where
Muslims are concerned. The majority live in closed local societies, everybody knows who they are and where they live. What persuades far too many to “consent” is family and societal pressure reinforced by the power in a male relatives fist or a “mothers” hard slap. One case saddens me still, Shafilia Ahmed, she was taken to Pakistan where she refused her intended, she drank bleach, her parents beat her to death upon her return to England, she was 17 with a bright future studying law, fully anglicized.

In my view, this religious/ cultural imperative must always be taken into account.

Perhaps some can enlighten me, how does that clown get away with it and why do people in NJ still vote for him?

The practice of “religious freedom” must end where civic law begins. When the Puritans were at war with all others, burning (not just “witches”) people and places, that’s what prodded the founding fathers to put it in writing. When their holy book calls for beheadings, does that become a protected religious practice?

Governor Christie is a modern liberal who spends most of his time making life unbearable for chronic pain patients, because he refuses to apply conservative principles to the government’s treatment of drugs. He wants to limit pills the same way democrats want to limit guns. He wants to allow government to strictly limit pain relief using a Marxist system. The DEA decides some average level of pain for all Americans. [We need to decimate the executive branch bureaucracy.]

What is hysterically ironic is the fact that obesity (an addiction to eating) kills 2-3 times as many people as drugs per year. The Governor is a Marxist heart attack, waiting to happen.

I don’t know for sure if you facts are correct, but I do feel your pain. I said it when President Trump put his fat ass in that position he better not get between my Doctor and me. He may need a bit of pain management in his life someday.

Thanks, William. My facts are based on real experience in Florida – if he isn’t stopped the same will be true for the nation. I think the Trump administration has already doubled-down on the “war on drugs.” We may as well roll with the punches – and yes, let’s hope Christie AND at least one person he loves needs an opioid to function, one day – and they are denied. Unfortunately, the elite class usually doesn’t feel the pain of the “average” citizen.

Isn’t there a Mormon leader in prison right now, because he married underage girls. Didn’t Utah have to end multiple marriage and child brides to even be allowed to petition for Statehood. Why are we allowing Muslims to do the same crap that we banned Mormons from doing. What makes them so special.

Why the need to insult? I am not a fan of his but Christie is not a stupid man and this issue is not a religious one. Individuals under the age of 18 cannot sign a contract for a loan, they should not be allowed to enter into a contract of any other kind, i.e. marriage, with or without parental permission. Having sex in and of itself does not typically bring about lifelong legal and financial ramifications. I have read the comments made by some of you who argue that teenage girls are allowed to have an abortion without parental approval. It is because having a child at any age is a life changing event. You may say that an abortion carries with it medical risks. It does, but far far fewer than pregnancy and childbirth. Furthermore has any consideration ever been given to the fact that parental notification for an abortion is purely one sided? No one has ever suggested, at least from what I have heard, that parental notification be required should the girl decide to carry the pregnancy to term? Allowing children to get married is wrong. Whether the service is performed in a mosque, in a temple, in a church, under the stars, the sun, wherever.
