NYC jihadi bomber demands light sentence, complains about his “demonization”

62

Ahmad Rahimi sowed terror across two states, setting off bombs in Manhattan and on the Jersey Shore.  This devout Muslim deserves a death sentence but he knows Western liberals grovel before the Islamic world, awarding it special status to oppress, subjugate and slaughter in the cause of Allah. Don’t be surprised if, in a few short years, Ahmad Rahimi  lands a job working as a research fellow at George Washington University’s Program on Extremism.

Accused NYC Bomber’s Defense Wants Lighter Sentence Because He Was Shot

By Katie Zavadski, Daily Beast, May 8, 2017:

Story continues below advertisement

Defense attorneys for accused Manhattan bomber Ahmad Rahimi have asked prosecutors to consider his “mental and physical health” as part of negotiations for a plea agreement.

In recent filings in federal court, defense attorneys cited Rahimi’s condition from being shot 11 times in September 2016, and his brain injuries, limited longevity, “and/or post-traumatic stress disorder.”

These first revelations about Rahimi’s plea negotiations come after prosecutors asked Judge Richard Berman to rule on Rahimi’s competency as the case proceeds towards trial. The judge denied the motion from prosecutors on Monday, after Rahimi’s lawyers derided that move as an inappropriate judicial involvement in plea negotiations.

Defense attorneys said in their filings they never suggested that they were headed toward a competency examination for Rahimi, and merely asked the government to consider those factors in private plea discussions. The prosecution’s motion “runs afoul of [a] prohibition on judicial involvement in plea discussions,” the defenders wrote.

The government filed the sealed motion on April 24 asking for Berman to intervene, days after defense attorneys clarified that they were not challenging Rahimi’s competency. Defense attorneys submitted emails showing the context of the exchange was about plea negotiations, and that they “don’t expect” to challenge his competency for trial at this time.

This exchange is a first glance at plea negotiations for Rahimi, in a case marked by a contentious relationship between prosecutors and his defense attorneys. In notable disagreements, prosecutors pushed for an early trial date for Rahimi, barely a year after the alleged crimes, while defense attorneys requested a change of venue because of the notoriety of the case in New York City.

Judge Berman denied the defense’s motion to move the trial to Vermont or Washington, D.C. on Monday, saying that New York’s Southern District has a vast and diverse pool of potential jurors to choose from, leaving little doubt in his mind that they’d be able to find 18 individuals willing to give Rahimi a fair shot. (A New Jersey state court recently denied a similar motion on attempted murder of a police officer charges that Rahimi faces there.)

Agree. Anything less than death sentence will mean he will remain a threat.

And we have Left/Liberal Pro-jihadi media that bans any real news , truth about Islamic jihad.

And besides facebook, twitter even Google has joined the Islamofascist gang to suppress facts, truths, real news http://tinyurl.com/lgp28rs

Moslems, due to religious beliefs, can not and will not assimilate into US culture. Their cultural and eithical values are incompatible with ours and therefore they should never be allowed to function within our institutions of government. We require our public servants to swear allegiance to our country and our constitutional form of government. Since Moslems do not agree with our cultural values and they cannot swear allegiance to our country and be loyal to our laws and government (or any other form of government that is not Islamic.) They should never be allowed to serve as officials in our government.

Perhaps “demonization” is coming into play because he fits the definition of a “demon”: according to the dictionary, a demon is “an evil spirit or a person or thing who is evil”. Can’t argue with that.

What is astonishing is the case for his defence being made by his lawyers. They really are despicable beings with no conscience or moral compass. We are supposed to pity his “mental and physical health” and his “post-traumatic stress disorder” – this for some hate-filled, evil barbarian who spent every waking thought planning to kill, maim and destroy the lives of innocent people. If he had succeeded, how much concern would there have been for the mental and physical health of his victims and their families and friends?

Wait a second, in his country he would never be able to demand anything if caught in a crime they would either, cut of finger, hands, foot, arm or head. Or else toss him off a roof, burn him, hang him, crucify him, remove his eyes or a battery of other dark ages punishments. Yet he comes here and feels he can demand…….guess that may work depending how liberal the judge and prosecutor are. In his country it would be street justice and sentencing carried out immediately.by a angry crowd.

This would be a great time to put the Italian mafia on the gov payroll. They were quite adept at making people vanish from the 30’s to the 90’s. Perhaps they could do the same for Ahmad Rahimi, by making him into cat food…….

Actually, moving the trial to Vermont might not be a bad idea. Vermont has no gun laws and the people who’d actually show up for jury duty are are from the Calvin Coolidge model of what the state once was.

I doubt they’d look kindly on this schmuck.

Ray Ramirez

Terrorist attacks are not the kinds of crimes that our legal system was created to handle. A new set of laws, procedures and punishments needs to be developed just for terrorist killings motivated by religious beliefs.

If we know absolutely for sure that they committed the crime and the suspect admits guilt, The punishment should be a benign death to be administered after investigators are finished with their investigation. If the suspect cooperates with investigators, the investigators can recommend who initiates the execution and that the body be given to the family for burial.

If the suspect denies his guilt, there should be a rule that if a trail is forced and there is a finding of guilt by a jury, a more immediate and less benign death sentence should be given. Since the motivation of the crime is religious in nature, the execution and disposition of the body should follow a procedure that does not give the convict any hope that they will receive any reward in the after life that was promised to them for committing their crime.

At the extreme of his argument, Rahimi is correct: If the police had shot to kill him, then there would have been NO sentence.

Standing by for Rahimi to raise his hand for this extreme….
