You must clear your mind of the “turn the other cheek” and “love your enemies” garbage. That was an utterly different context in an utterly different time. You will either do it as “Christians” or you will be dead or converted to Islam and Christianity will die.

Muslims, in particular, as well as other unsaved people, in general, desperately need the Lord! Contrary to the beliefs of many, the god of Islam is not the same as the God of the Bible.

While its practitioners affirm the teachings of Mohammed, as contained within the Koran; they are directly contrary to the history, tenets and testimony of Holy Scripture.

So, there is a perpetually-intense, spiritual battle for our souls, presently, being waged between Allah (the crescent, moon god of Islam) versus the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as revealed within the sacred pages of the Bible.

From one day to the next, we have no idea what is, really, going to happen in America. Neither do we know what is going to happen anywhere else in the world.

People visit this website, and others, in order to vent, lament or simply weigh in on matters of personal concern because we, all, have opinions we’d like to express and share with others. Obviously, you are reading this particular post because you are a highly-opinionated person. So am I.

But, no matter how we may differ, or agree, about this or any other particular issue; There is one issue in life that must be faced, someday, by each and every person on this planet.

Dr. Charles Stanley, of First Baptist Church, in Atlanta, frames the discussion rather interestingly.

“Mankind has a debt problem. In the physical world, our desire for a higher standard of living and more stuff has led to burdensome credit card balances and unwieldy mortgage payments. The weight of what we owe can cause restless nights and the feeling that we’re trapped. We long for someone to rescue us from the mess we have made.

However, material indebtedness isn’t our biggest problem; our sin debt is. All of us were born with a flesh nature that prompts us to rebel against the Lord. Our rebelliousness is an affront to His holy nature, incurring a debt that we owe to Him.

Until this penalty is paid, we are under God’s righteous judgment and remain spiritually separated from Him (Eph. 2:1-2). The trouble is, we are unable to pay what’s due. No amount of good works, self-sacrifice, or religious devotion will lessen what we owe.”

The ever-increasing conflict, endless turmoil, mounting chaos and troubling uncertainty we are witnessing now in America and around the world (which everyone on this forum is concerned about) pales, by comparison, to that one, simple truth Dr. Stanley described.

The greatest, single issue that you and I will ever have to face in life pertains to our eternal destiny; where you and I will spend eternity when we die.

I raise this matter because every day we read about people who expected to live and enjoy life indefinitely, but didn’t. They died.

Someday, you and I will do so as well. However, we don’t know when, where nor how. But there is good news, even in the midst of all the bad we see and read about every day.

Dr. Stanley referred to a sin debt that you and I owe to a holy God; a debt which, formerly (in ages past) made it impossible for us to get to heaven when we die. (Colossians 2:13-15)

However, here’s the good news. The God of Heaven provided, for us, a plan unlike that of any other religion known to man so that eternal debt might be satisfied. And that eternal plan involved a Person. The only Person eligible and capable of canceling the debt; God in human flesh!

The only Person who ever left the glories of Heaven, temporarily, for the sole purpose of satisfying that sin debt was Jesus, the Son of God, Himself! (1 John 2:2)

But how could He prove He was worthy enough to be the pure and sinless sacrifice needed to forever satisfy the debt? It was by His bodily resurrection from the dead! (1 Peter 1:3-5)

The record of Scripture reports that God loved you and me so much that He sent His One and Only Son to pay, in full, the sin debt we owed Him so that we would not perish, in hell, but, instead, have eternal or everlasting life. (John 3: 16)

Now, here is the life and death fact that you and I must acknowledge before we die. Someone must pay the sin debt that you and I owe to a holy God. And that debt will be paid, one way or another, after we die.

Either we will pay that sin debt we owe to a holy God ourselves, and are consigned to spend an eternity in hell, or we accept (in this life) the fact that our sin debt has already been paid once, by Jesus Christ, on our behalf.

Just as God required the shedding of the blood of animals as payment to cover the sins of the people, in the Old Testament, under the new and everlasting covenant, Jesus is now our substitutionary, sacrificial Lamb that was offered to God, thereby, making full payment for our sins on His cross. (Hebrews 10:1-14)

You and I will, ultimately, face the judgment of God. It’s inescapable. (Hebrews 9:27-28) But God gives you and me a choice. We get to choose where we will spend eternity, and there are only two options. Heaven or Hell. There is no purgatory.

You’ve heard people say, of the dead, almost reflexively, “Well, they’re now in a better place.” That is not, necessarily, true. No one, automatically, goes to Heaven when they die. Entrance into Heaven must be on God’s terms, according to His eternal plan, not ours.

I grieve whenever I hear people make such a careless, callous and compellingly- naive comment as that, being completely oblivious to whether or not that person died having accepted God’s eternal plan. And that’s a major problem! So, let’s be crystal clear about that plan.

First, salvation cannot be earned by doing good works. I do realize the fact that, very early in life, we were conditioned to believe that we must work to earn whatever good things we receive. However, ‘earning our salvation’ was never included in God’s sovereign and providential plan.

Secondly, while the Bible does teach “The wages of our sin is death,” it also teaches salvation is the ‘free gift of God.’ (Romans 3:23 and 6:23) That means we, simply, receive or accept that ‘free’ gift of salvation by placing our trust in Jesus Christ (alone) to do for us what we could never do for ourselves, which is to save us. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Thirdly, there is one, simple claim that Jesus made (concerning Himself) that will either save or condemn us, based upon whether we believe it or not. Here’s what He said. “I am the way, the truth and the life! No one will come to the Father, except through Me!” (John 14: 6)

You and I, therefore, must make a choice as to whether we believe that clear and unambiguous claim, made by Christ, or not. Those who believe it, by faith, will be saved. Those who don’t, won’t. It’s as simple as that!

Lastly, Jesus is the only Savior of sinners. All who seek to be forgiven for their sins must repent (which means they desire to turn away from those sins) and place their faith and trust in Him for forgiveness.

I hope and pray that regardless of what happens in America, or anywhere else around the world, that you (and anyone who reads this post) will turn to Christ, for the forgiveness of their sins, today!

Muslims, most desperately, need to hear this message, ” Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord will be saved!” (Romans 10:9-13)
