Trump Is Granting The Military Much More Leeway In Bombing ISIS

This is good. For eight years, Obama’s anti-American rules of engagement crippled our ability to oppose jihadis in Afghanistan and Iraq. We are still paying the price, and will be for a long time to come.

“Trump Is Granting The Military Much More Leeway In Bombing ISIS,” by Saagar Enjeti, Daily Caller, April 15, 2017:

The Trump administration has given the U.S. military significantly more leeway to use whatever means it sees fit in the fight against radical Islamic terrorism, senior officials say, in stark contrast to the Obama administration.

“There’s nothing formal, but it is beginning to take shape,” a senior U.S. defense told The Wall Street Journal. “There is a sense among these commanders that they are able to do a bit more — and so they are.”

President Trump’s new approach is perhaps best demonstrated in the U.S. decision to drop the largest non-nuclear device in the military’s arsenal — “the mother of all bombs” — on the Islamic State in Afghanistan Thursday. The blast ignited a media sensation, and killed nearly 100 ISIS fighters.

“It’s not the same as it was, you don’t have to ask us before you drop a MOAB,” a senior military official told TheWSJ, using the acronym for the large bomb. “Technically there’s no piece of paper that says you have to ask the president to drop a MOAB. But last year this time, the way [things were] meant, ‘I’m going to drop a MOAB, better let the White House know.’”

Top U.S. General in Afghanistan Gen. John Nicholson emphasized to reporters that he is the one of made the decision to drop the MOAB. “It was the right time to use it tactically against the right target on the battlefield,” Nicholson insisted….

Superior intelligence about the location of concentrated ISIS/ISIL forces will be critical to a successful bombing campaign. This was demonstrated in the recent usage of the MOAB in Afghanistan. Obviously the President wants to avoid collateral civilian casualties in such attacks. The press wastes no time blaming him if civilians are killed, hence the importance of superior intelligence.

If you are going to fight, fight to win. In was, sportsmanship does not count when you lose.
How can there ever be a body count? In an explosion of that size, the only thing left of an enemy combatant will be their soul.

While I very much am in support of allowing our military to do battle with those who would kill us, as we are at war with those who we define as terrorists, and I fully support Trump’s leadership in that regard, I also believe that we must also develop a strategy that encompasses the cutting off of the ability to recruit future terrorists. In today’s articles there is one written by Robert Spencer who recognizes, as I do, that the killing and war will never stop until we can end the ability of Islam to recruit people to their heinous Jihadi cause. We must develop a method which cuts off that ability, and causes the philosophy of domination and subjugation to wither and dissipate into “Godliness and Good neighborliness.” Until we can do that, this war will continue unabated. I hope that there are people working on a solution that might accomplish that.

When there is a will there is a way…the most effective strategy would be to bomb Mecca and take out Saudi Arabia. It would have to be done surgically however once when you have cut off the head of the snake then make it illegal to own a koran. No, we don’t have to kill all of them but we do need to get rid of the ideology. So we need to kill those that are spreading it. Probably about 10% of them may be less…

Trump has argued that one of the best options to explore is cutting off their revenue sources such as oil, opium, and their financial supporters who claim to be our allies like the Saudis. Then they will wither away and the concussion bombs and other expensive weaponry can be saved for a more appropriate application.

Casteration at birth for all cult members and abortion ,up to 40 years of age, for asll cult members presently not casterated earlier, pre casteration requirement.
That should help slow the cancer down and start helping to repair the damage before the entire population is wiped out or ensklaved.

Ban/classify any religion/cult that condones violence and murder. Period.
Arm the population and let them protect their own families and friends.
imediately ecterminate traitors to any country.(including polititions).

” until we can end the ability of Islam to recruit people to their heinous Jihadi cause.”
that’s easy: Stop their funding!
1. Stop using ME oil.
2. Stop the Halal scam
3. Get the media to report the truth about Islam and their murdering, slaver, pedophile, necrophelist and criminally insane proffeett. Until then, “stupid is what stupid does”.

I want to know when the military is going to hang Beau Bergdahl out to dry.
This man committed Treason and in years past he would have been tried, snetenced and hanged for what he did. Now we have someone there in JAG who is defending this a–hole and is a worthless piece of crap.

This is as it should be, that the on-scene commander calls the shots and not some bureaucrat in the West Wing who never wore a uniform a single day in defense of this country. In his “In Love and In War”, former Hanoi Hilton POW Admiral Jim Stockdale relates how when he was the commanding officer of a carrier air group in the Tonkin Gulf, someone in the Johnson WH was selecting the targets to be hit in the North and the specific armament to be used. Their directives were usually wrong on both counts. His solution was to reach agreement with the ship’s CO where he commanded the ship and Stockdale commanded the air group, each using their own expertise to get the job done.

it’s somewhat ironic that such action necessarily results in killing civilians yet, the terrorists are embedded with the populations; many have family members actively supporting them, technically making them enemy combatants as well. Russia & Syria have been facing this problem all along, greatly amplified by the relentless western media. Under political pressure, they have gone to enormous effort and expense, including losing lives of medics and soldiers, to preserve those same civilians WE consider casualties of war- food, evacuation corridors, busses, de-mining etc., all humanitarian, and STILL the western press continues excoriate them as evil and inhumane at every turn… Lesson: “Our bombs do good, your bombs do bad”…

That is the ideal way of fighting these cave dwelling moronic cult members.

Step 1 – Build Bigger Stronger Planes that can carry more pauload.
Step 2 – Drop the Biggest Baddest Most Destructive bomb the plane will carry.
Step 3 – Because the military and media love to name things-call it a BBMD = (Brought By Mohammuds Dumbness)
Step 4 – Repeat for 4 days.in 4 different areas.(picked out of a hat) ?
step 5 – Let media learn of that fast from facebook or you tube 4 days after the fact.
Step 5- tell the Slimers you are going to start bombing.

How sad that this is a big surprise to most Americans. The way it is supposed to work is that the Commander in Chief (Trump) sets goals for the military to accomplish and then trusts his Generals and Admirals to accomplish the tasks they set to accomplish the President’s goals. This is hugely more effective than the micromanagement by Obama, Hillary, and the Presidents during the Vietnam war that micromanaged the war from the White House basement. Our leadership on the ground, on the front lines of battle, so to speak, are the experts on what needs to be done to win the war. President Trump is obviously smart enough to know this very well. He deserves our respect and our support.
