Who decides what’s fake news and what’s not? Mainstream leftist sources nowadays such as CNN and the New York Times regularly feature demonstrably false stories, but I assure you that none of them will be shut down. This is all about shutting down opposition to Muslim migration and criticism of the government for not opposing jihad terror. What will France do when truth is deemed hate?

Facebook has cracked down on 30,000 fake accounts in France ahead of the country’s pivotal presidential election. Facebook said the accounts were spreading fake news stories, spam, misinformation or other deceptive content.
“Our priority, of course, is to remove the accounts with the largest footprint, with a high amount of activity and a broad reach,” Facebook security manager Shabnam Shaik said in a blog post.
The social media giant acknowledged, however, that the purge will not remove all accounts that are spreading fake news. “We know we have to keep getting better,” said Shaik.
“These accounts were targeted because they are fake. Full stop,” a Facebook spokesman told CNNTech. He said that taking down fake accounts helps prevent hoaxes, spam, political trolling and fake news.
“We routinely focus on these types of improvements. It’s an ongoing effort and challenge,” he said.
The spread of fake news has raised concerns in France ahead of the country’s national elections. The first round of the voting, scheduled for April 23, will feature candidates including far right National Front leader Marine Le Pen.
Le Pen is expected to perform well enough to earn a place in a runoff scheduled for May 7.
Facebook on Thursday also took out newspaper ads with tips for spotting fake news in major publications in France and Germany.
The crackdown by Facebook (FB, Tech30) represents a major shift in policy from only a few months ago, when the role of fake news in electoral politics came under scrutiny following Donald Trump’s surprise victory.
Immediately following the vote, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said his company was not responsible for influencing people’s votes.
“Personally, I think the idea that fake news on Facebook — of which it’s a small amount of content — influenced the election in any way is a pretty crazy idea,” he said.
But public pressure has forced Facebook and other social media companies to rethink their role in the public debate, and many have implemented measures in recent months designed to discourage the spread of fake news….

This is censorship. Facebook is a dubious company, which has censored New Year’s Eve sexual assaults in 2016. And many other similar cases, which are censored by the MS media too.
YLE TV news presenter Jussi-Pekka Rantanen in the picture on April 15, 2017. This FinnishTV news presenter Rantanen claimed on May 6, 2016 that the Cologne mass sex attack was possibly untrue, it never took place. After this obvious lie on tv news YLE TV Station has been silent on this case, and ignored all similar cases.

If they stop people from criticising Islam it will backfire as many people will become frightened for the future of free speech and it will encourage them to vote, I think. Marine Le Pen is the only sensible candidate!

This is the beginning of the end for face book, fewer accounts seeing advertising, others seeing censorship and oppression writing on the wall. There is no reason to patronize face book, as it is now the oppressor, it is beyond a mere tool of capitalism and free enterprise, it seeks to control everything about its minions. With any luck 30,000,000 will abandon it.

Facebook for many is a place to post your vacation photos, recipes and cute animal videos. Many don’t post their political persuasions or opinions….BUT they exercise their opinions at the polls which is what happened at the Presidential Election when Dems suffered a devastating loss. All this Liberal unrest has brought even more anger to Conservatives. I actually notice Facebook participation doesn’t seem to be what it once was. Censorship is not the American Way.

Off topic, Facebook has taken down a site called Boere Krisis Aksie that reported about white killings and brutality in South Africa. Zukerberg supports the genocide against whites in South Africa.

We need a new version/replacement for Facebook . I have been thinking about this for 6months! I don’t have the smarts to do it but somebody out there does. Remember before Facebook there was my space.
I haven’t used my f.b account since July 2016 .I probably should just delete altogether.

AOL will shut you down if you write about Hillary and her Uranium deal that lined her pockets with $145M. Doesn’t matter if what is written is true.
