Why Trump Is Failing
By Pamela Geller

Make no mistake: the failure to repeal and replace ObamaCare, which President Trump had so often promised to do, was a major defeat for his administration.

[the_ad id=”90513″]

Story continues below advertisement

The beginning of his administration is when President Trump had the chance to accomplish the most. But it’s not looking that way. He has certainly tried, but is being thwarted at every turn by leftist activist judges and the RINO establishment.

According to The Hill, “Trump became heavily involved in selling and negotiating the plan, holding at least 17 meetings on overhauling the healthcare system…. Those included arm-twisting sessions (in person and on Twitter) with conservative and moderate factions that opposed the plan, as well as invites to the White House bowling alley and a rare personal trip to Capitol Hill. His aides were more than eager to tout ‘The Art of the Deal’ author’s abilities to get people to come to an agreement. ‘He is the closer,’ White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Wednesday.”

So what happened? Trump has to take control. Take a page from Obama and clean house. With regard to ObamaCare, Trump should take decisive action to salvage the situation now. He should call every GOP congressman into his office and just hammer out a deal.

Here’s the thing: he talks about being a great negotiator, and that may be true. But throughout his career until now, he has been negotiating not with politicians, but with businessmen. We know their motive: profit. Money.

It’s not the same with politicians. Politics is a twisted world, in which power and reelection are the currency in which they trade. The bottom line in business is money, and while money talks for politicians also, the bottom line with these corrupt clowns is not always so easy to discern.Breitbart News reminded us recently that House Speaker Paul Ryan “was caught on an audio file from October — obtained by Breitbart News and published a couple weeks ago — saying he is ‘not going to defend Donald Trump — not now, not in the future.’”

And Trump was relying on him to repeal and replace ObamaCare?

Paul Ryan is also out of his depth. Love him or hate him, former House majority leader Tom DeLay knew how to herd those cats. That’s why the left had to destroy him. Ryan lacks what DeLay had: “bold aggressiveness and quiet maneuvering.”

Ryan has got to go. James Comey, too. What’s with all the Obama holdovers throughout the Trump administration? The Justice Department’s civil rights division must be purged. What’s Eric Treene still doing there? In January 2012, after receiving a huge box (in response to my Freedom of Information Act request) full of documents relating to the Justice Department’s interactions with Muslim groups linked to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, I wrote:

Even more striking was the servile demeanor of the Civil Rights Division official Eric Treene, Special Counsel for the Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, and the demanding condescension of Muslim Brotherhood operatives. Muslim and Arab operatives treat Treene and Co. like an errand boy, asking them for email addresses of other contacts and setting them to perform the most menial gofer duties.  The DOJ even takes lunch orders and picks up the tab, and in some cases asks them how much money they need for a little soiree they’re holding. It is astonishing.

Yet Treene is still there, and doubtless still kowtowing. And he is not the only one. A senior Trump administration official said last week: “We have members of the former administration at the highest levels who through their actions after January 20 have demonstrated their refusal to recognize the results of the general election. They have pursued, organized, and managed a comprehensive subversion of the new administration.”

The Washington Free Beacon reports that “in one instance, Trump administration officials found evidence that the administration’s executive order banning travel from certain Muslim-majority nations had been selectively altered to bring it more in line with Obama-era talking points. Several hours before the orders were set to be signed by Trump, officials noticed that language concerning ‘radical Islamic terrorism’ had been stripped from the order and replaced with Obama-era language about countering violent extremism. West Wing staffers quickly scrambled to rewrite the order to bring it back in line with Trump’s rhetoric.”

That’s unconscionable. Whoever did that should have been immediately identified and fired.

It’s not too late for Trump. But it will be soon, if he doesn’t remember what got him elected in the first place, and drain the swamp.

I salute Donald J Trump. In spite of the hate and smearing and wire tapping and threats, our president is working to keep his word and to do what is right and best for America and ALL her citizens. I respect and admire Trump even more every day as he goes about the business of doing what he was elected to do.

Real Americans have spoken. We want our country back. Our jobs were being sent to Mexico and China. Our taxes were being spent on illegals, refugees, and welfare leaches.

My healthcare is too expensive ($800/month for my family). Time to step away from socialism and let the capitalism work. My car insurance is just $25 per month (Insurance Panda) and my internet is just $30/month from RNC. Let the free market handle health insurance!

God bless Trump and America.

One of Trump’s biggest mistakes was to think he could trust Paul Ryan. Ryan is a flat out traitor to the country. He rubber-stamped and funded not only Obamacare, but also Obama’s illegal adventures in amnesty for illegal aliens. Ryan made damn sure everything Obama floated down the pike was passed with no opposition. Most Republicans are no better. The so called “Freedom Caucus” who oppose Ryan on most issues, including “Ryancare”, kiss Ryan’s narrow @ss on getting as many illegals into the country as possible. That keeps their corporate donors happy.

An amendment was added to the Ryancare bill that denied free health insurance to illegal aliens. Ryan and other members of the GOP establishment stripped that out of the bill before taking it to Trump. If you think Muslims are going to be excluded from immigrating here with these b@stards still in control, think again!

How can anyone expect different results from the same RINOs? The swamp still needs massive draining. Speaking of Ryan, he is one of the main reasons I voted for Trump to begin with. And there he is still perched on his toad stool. He will be working on the Tax Bill next. Un-freaking-believable.

During the pre-election days the only reason Trump backed that RINO jerk was so that the jerks democrat opponent would not win the Wisconsin Senate seat, and Ryan knows that.

Trump is incorrect when he says it will implode soon. The premiums are fixed until January 1. They will go up then, as they always do, but I doubt it will be an “implosion”. People on Ocare who are receiving subsidies (welfare) are quite happy to get insurance. I can’t afford any of the Ocare plans (I’m 59) and don’t want subsidies which are welfare. I need dirt cheap major medical insurance NOW. I don’t want to wait while Paul Ryan pulls his head out of his a$$.
I support Trump, but he blew it on this – of course Ryan gets the biggest share of blame. I doubt Ryan will ever do the right thing on this or much else.

With less than one hundred days in office, Ms. Geller, I don’t believe Trump’s a failure of any kind.

Ms. Geller has asserted that President Trump has, at this time, failed in this one campaign promise. This assertion is true on it’s face.

I support Trump, but he blew it on this – of course Ryan gets the biggest share of blame.

(My bold.) Now, you agree with us about President Trump; then you fail to recoginze that President Trump failed to negotiate a deal with Paul Ryan. Exquisite confusion. Congratulations.

With less than one hundred days in office, Ms. Geller, I don’t believe Trump’s a failure of any kind. I respect your opinion on much but this isn’t one of those topics. We still have a long way to go. And in my view, our new President is ten steps ahead of everyone who considers him the ‘enemy’. He’s twenty steps ahead of the leftist news media, Hollywood, academe and Democrat politicians. We’re getting started in this ‘new world of Trump’. The popcorn and schadenfreude will commence in short order. I always keep myself ready for such events.

Agreed. While I shared Trump’s, and everyone else’s, enthusiasm to tackle the rebuilding task I also share the frustration of realizing the wheels in DC turn awfully slowly. However, after having read “The Art of the Deal” and becoming aware of his bulldog determination, I am back to being optimistic. His Obamacare plans are still alive.

The problem with Trump is he has no plan. When he needs a plan, he goes to Jared and asks, “Jared, what’s my plan?” Jared goes, “I don’t know. I’ll ask Bibi.” Bibi goes, “How should I know? Your last envelope was a little light.”

Kristen, I want this presidency to work, but so far Trump has proven insufficiently ruthless in getting rid of the scum leftovers from Obama. With all the evidence on Clinton and Obama that he must have, what indications are there that he will take strong action against them and sink them once and for all? I’m getting an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach. The liberals opposing him are largely filth, disgusting liars, destructive and ruthless, yet where the actions from Trump to silence them? They are out to destroy his presidency and if they do I hope you are ready to watch the U.S. collapse into chaos.

The medical bill deserved to die. It sucked. Tea Party Patriots, of which I am a near charter member, opposed it. This bill did NOT include interstate insurance co. competition as promised by Pres. Trump. And it had an outrageous tax to be paid to insurance cos! Of all things. Shifting tax from IRS to insurance cos? You got to be kidding. Down with Ryan’s Rino Care!

Exactly right. Obamacare is welfare for insurers – the subsidies go to them. Ryan care was the same – the tax credits would have gone for premiums. With the tax credits insurers would have been able to continue raising premiums. There is no difference between the two plans.

Here’s an OUTSTANDING plan from Ann Coulter:
http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2017/03/29/ann-coulter-health-care-plan-simple-even-republican-can-understand/

Here’s the meat of it, but the article tells the ins/outs of it:

Quote: ”

STEP 1: Congress doesn’t repeal Obamacare! Instead, Congress passes a law, pursuant to its constitutional power to regulate interstate commerce, that says: “In America, it shall be legal to sell health insurance on the free market. This law supersedes all other laws, taxes, mandates, coverage requirements, regulations or prohibitions, state or federal.”

The end. Love, Ann.

Probably right about that.

Why not just leave Ocare as-is but pass a law eliminating the individual and corporate mandates. AND, allow all insurers the ability to offer major medical policies with no government mandates, subsidies, etc. These could be dirt cheap. Let those who want an expensive Ocare policy buy it – let the po’ folk get their subsidy for Ocare. BUT let the rest of us get dirt cheap major medical insurance. This is not complicated.

my question is why do we need the federal govt and congress to pass healthcare bills . it should be left to the states . there is way too much dichotomy, corporate interests ,labor interests, identity politics etc to pass a satisfactory bill for all.any bill passed by the feds/congress will ”shaft” a certain segment of the population or interest group .in my opinion each state should produce a health bill suited to its population .there can be federal guidelines in certain aspects elitist republicans want small govt except when their interests are threatened, then they don’t want it .

If Trump keeps naming apologists for islam to key positions his presidency will fail. He will accomplish very little unless he drains the swamp first. Adding to the swamp isn’t draining it. He needs to replace Mattis and McMaster. He also needs to totally clean house at State, Justice, the CIA and the Pentagon. I’ve read a couple of stories, albeit from leftist sources, that said that Trump is going to reach out to Democrats on healthcare. If that is true he needs to realize that the Democrats are every bit as much an enemy of the US as Iran and South Korea and wants to undermine his presidency. And that they will stop at nothing.

Pamela, we NEVER had a President with giggleberries since President Ronald Reagan!! That’s good enough for me and that’s the kind of leader our Republic needs. He may (I said may) go down as one of the greatest President in the history of our Nation!. Incidentally, he has many spitballs and curve balls that are unpredictable but yet it will benefit the American people…”America First” is a wake-up call for both friend and foe.alike. God Bless America, The Land of The Big PX and President Donald Trump!!

Trump is going after government leaders like mayors etc who refuse to cooperate with ICE in deporting illegal criminals and he just signed an executive order neutering the evil BLM from stealing Americans land and ignoring states rights. Like the other commentators here it has only been 2 months and lets not forget the rinos who are working with Obama and the democrats to stop Trump. There will be things he does i don’t like but he has already done more things i do like than anyone else that would have been elected and he is just getting started. I truly believe the Muslim Brotherhood’s days are numbered but it will take time for they have infiltrated every level of government by buying cowardly traitors in congress and Washington.

It’s just amazing the breadth of issues you opine on – with little to no expertise. Sure, you’ve been sort of good on Jihad (although your excesses are damning to folks who associate with you), but why on earth are you writing political analysis of domestic policies and commenting on Trump’s political operation? What on earth qualifies you to advise or comment on political strategy? This article is trite and silly, with little real insight. Just your thoughts after reading other articles. Did you interview anyone in the admin? Any new news? New POV? Nope, just blather.

I’m an opponent of Islamists and of the right, but the number of taking heads babbling nonsense on the right is huge and it’s a big problem for the right.

An Islamist is a revanchist Muslim who seeks to re-assert the caliphate and wants to live in a theocratic state. Shitbird.

LOL, how do you explain away the fact ALL muslum states enforce islamic blasphemy and heresy laws dimbulb? Is that not theocratic?
Islamist is a BS neologism invented by the same f’ing muslums that brought us “islamophobia”.

Couldn’t agree more with Pamela. As I’ve said on at least two occasions, the Republicans are plagued by too many gutless wonder Congresspeople. From the outset Paul Ryan has been luke warm, a total dead loss. No wonder the Democrats would like to see him replace Nunes as head of the Intelligence Committee. He’s a walkover for them and possibly more on their side than his own party. There are too few Trey Gowdys, Jason Chaffetzs, Rand Pauls, Senator Collins and a few others. Rand Paul didn’t start out gungho on Trump, but once Trump had won he’s supported him where he could. He had questions on the healthcare bill and maybe for good reason. My bet is that his lack of support had sound basis.

As to Mattis, McMaster, and the now discredited Jim Comey, what are they doing there? Why are they still there?

Maybe Trump is not sufficiently ruthless! The swamp is dragging down his presidency and the alternatives are too ghastly to contemplate. In fact, once again America stands of the brink of a mess that could degenerate into a total shambles if Trump does not wake up to the threats facing him and act with ruthless decisiveness.

Please, when you use an abbreviation for the first time, like RINO, please spell it out in its entirety for those of us who may not know for what it stands. Thank you.

Trump is up against more than just the Democrats and the RINO’s. He is up against their wealthy and powerful bosses, the globalists. Fortunately/unfortunately, we supposedly have checks and balances in out government, but anyone who is awake knows that things do not work how they are supposed to. Trump knew this going in. Like you, I hope he can overcome the obstacles put in front of him and get on with the business of draining that swamp.

You can not turn back 40 years of gutless political brainwashing in 100 days, If people are bending at the knees already then you should stand with the weak. Geez!!!!. Look what TRUMP is up against,,,, He himself a political outsider against all the odds won the right to run the USA and it will take time to set up all the swamps bottom feeders. The fact he is still at the helm is amazing to say the least. He just has to just wait til he knows who he can trust and those who are behind him, then he can put the elites on the world order payroll in the cross hairs. More pedos arrested in 3 months that bareback obumba arrested in 8 years, This is a great start…………

Publishing opinions about uncompleted actions, leaves Geller open to suspect. Obviously done for more headlines, and to draw attraction to your page, It is not much more than just an advertising gimmick. The jury is still out about Health Care. As you well know, Pamela, the Speaker pulled his ‘own’ RyanCare plan he was forcing down the throats of his colleagues. Just like the DEMON-craps did for ObamaCare: pass ObamaCare without reading it so you can find out what is in it. Well, what was in it was the politicians were exempt from ObamaCare.
Step aside from promoting your blog and be ‘straight’ with the American public, some of who may continue to follow you.

It’s chess not checkers. I’m like really worried I’ll never get another set of draw mohammod stickers or that draw mohammod coffee mug for myself. What happened to the store? Bring the store back please. The draw mohammod sticker looks great on my fridge, that pic looks great on my tshirt, and I did mail the postcard. Now like, I need more please. Just don’t run it through etsy and it will be easier to manage. Run a private store linked through paypal, it’s simple, and much less room for censorship to happen because a libtard disagrees with the product.

Pamela we are all grateful to you for exposing the enemy and enema’propagandist.

However from reading comments on your site I think that most of your readers and fans think President Trump is fighting the good fight inspite of congress, those bureau`rats, lobbyist, and the feral nasty raw sewerage field oft called the swamp.

Kindly dig in to the rino ryan/ nanny pilosi conjoined twins conspiracy and why the sewer vermin are coluding to destroy the Constitution and America.

Drain the sewer and fumigate it.
Start all over with American Patriots.

Trump needs the wall more than a healthcare bill. Not that repealing obamacare isn’t important. It is extremely apparent however, that the wall has not been Trump’s #1 priority.

That NEEDS to change. No healthcare system known to man can save this country if we don’t get it, and soon.
