Normalization of Oppression: Nike Offers “Pro Hijab”

97

[the_ad id=”87125″]

The hijab represents the degradation and subjugation of women. It is a sign of a woman accepting responsibility for keeping men from being tempted — and if they are anyway, it is her fault and she must be punished, possibly even with honor killing. First the hijab entered high fashion, and now this. What next? Nike FGM kits?

Story continues below advertisement

“Nike Has A New Product For Muslim Women: The ‘Pro Hijab,’” by Zahraa Alkhalisi, CNN, March 7, 2017 (thanks to Todd):

PHILADELPHIA (CNN) — Nike will soon begin selling a performance hijab for Muslim women athletes.

The head cover, called the “Nike Pro Hijab,” boasts a single-layer pull-on design made from lightweight polyester in dark, neutral colors. The fabric’s tiny holes will make it breathable while remaining opaque, a requirement for hijab-wearing women.

Nike said it began developing the hijab after some Muslim athletes complained about wearing a traditional head scarf during competition.

The design process took 13 months, and the final product will be available for sale in the company’s Spring 2018 season.

Nike said the hijab is already being worn by Emirati figure skater Zahra Lari.

“I was thrilled and a bit emotional to see Nike prototyping a Hijab,” Lari said in a statement. “I’ve tried so many different hijabs for performance, and … so few of them actually work for me. But once I put it on and took it for a spin on the ice, I was blown away by the fit and the light weight.”…

— Nike launching hijab line for muslims. Designer makes history with the first all-hijab collection at new york fashion week

These are 2 of many recent milestones toward mainstreaming islam. By the time it is over, millions upon millions of clueless non-muslims would ask themselves – How did we get here?

THIS is the ‘how’ phase. As in – This is ‘how’ we are ‘getting there’. It is happening right now, right in front of us. And they are ignoring it. And when it is done and done and islam finally reaches the zenith in the west – Then the buffoons would be wondering – how did we get here?

Well, when it was happening, they were too busy being retarded, living in denial, obstinately reiterating – No! Never going to happen! Islam will never conquer! Never!

I’m sure their were Brits who were so clueless when they woke up one day and a radical Muslim was their mayor in London….first thing he did was order bus companies to take down pictures of women in bathing suits or scantily dressed……while we slept Obama mainstreamed Gays, Transgenders, and Muslims into our military and ordered that Chaplains couldn’t say the name “Jesus” in their ministry….this is how societies end…not with a bang, but with a whimper…..

We can no longer afford to “split the pot” with everyone who wants a piece, especially with “refugees” from the Middle East. It’s too risky. Most of us are making below living wage and just had our health insurance forcefully taken away. My healthcare is up to $420 per month; compare this to my $25/month car insurance (from Insurance Panda) or my $10/month renters insurance. Both private enterprise (take note, Obama). Do we really want our tax dollars aiding these terrorists?

Close the border, deport these criminals who broke the law to get here, and strengthen our military again or more attacks will happen right here at home AGAIN.

The hijab is a form of religious expression. Would you be saying the same thing if a Christian woman chose to wear a head covering? No. Because the truth of the matter is, the Western world is afraid of Islam. There is nothing innately misogynistic about covering one’s head, in fact it was considered the norm for men and women all over the world until very recently. No one is forcing these women to wear hijab, just like no one forces you to practice your religion (or lack thereof). They’re simply worshipping Allah the way they were taught. Please take your white feminist ignorance and educate yourself.

What place in the sand is your head buried in?
I watched a woman being killed for an accusation of burning the most holy Quran during her brutal attack she still tried to save her hijab from coming off ! Imagine your being killed and worried over a head scarf ! I suppose all the women arrested beaten whipped for not wearing a head covering were willing .
You say western world is afraid of Islam , yeah nobody wants to die for your satanic cult you call a religion. I like my freedom . I like being able to wear what I want. I like being able to go about my life without some 7th century satanist ruling my life. While pretending to be a prophet of God.

It is not required they wear coverings in the Quran. However, some do wear it as a form of religious expression. Arguably though it is more cultural because after certain factions came into power, it was mandated women hijabs, burquas, & niqabs.

As a matter of fact, in Algeria and other North African and Middle Eastern countries, the
veil became a symbol of national identity and opposition to the West
during independence and nationalist movements.

So, it goes both ways. People wearing it here, in the West, can be like the seemingly innocuous gesture of praying in the public square, or building a mosque on a old church site; when in reality it is a symbol of defiance, and oppression & conquest of the West.

On one hand I respect a woman’s right to wear what she wants, but given what I just said, I can also see it as an affront & attempt to, as Pamela said, normalize oppressive culture which has place in the West. Not to mention I don’t want to see shrouds of women in black everywhere like a nightmare.

Westerners, unless diplomatically immune, are required to cover up in Middle East. So if you come to the West, you should respect OUR culture. At least hijabs are “open”, but full body coverings can’t be rationalized as not oppressive.

Wearing the hijab is not mandated in the koran, but is a misogynistic requirement. A woman’s hair is God given and is her crowning glory. I can tell you from personal experience Muslim women from many middle eastern countries have incredible hair. The hijab is required so that men are not tempted to lust after women because THEY are the ones who cannot control their sexual urges. as written in the Koran, the woman is the cause of evil, and few will reach heaven. Therefore, those Women in today’s world who wear the hijab do so out of ignorance.

Nice try, (BS) but unlike your brethren , most of our women can read and comprehend what they read. Remember the fire in a school in Mecca ? 15 girls were killed and .50 more burnt because the Saudi mutaween (Sharia police) would not let them out without their scarves and abayas, and they would not have been escorted by a male guardian. So tell us again, how no one forces women to dress in certain ways. Surely those girls chose death over dishonour ! I particularly enjoyed that bit about sadistic mutaween being recruited from ex-cons–their get-out-of-jail-card….. being able to memorise the Quran. Says it all, doesn’t it ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_religious_police

A+ post! I fear Islam too, which is not “Islamophobic,” because a phobia is an IRRATIONAL fear. It’s very rational to fear people who tell you outright that they want to kill you, or pretend to like you until they show up at Christmas party full of their co-workers and slaughter 14 of them, like happened in San Bernardino.

Soddy Barbaria is chock full of such tales of islamic “justice”. Some ten years ago, a woman was arrested, dragged out of a Starbucks and strip-searched by the mutaween for being in public w/a man not her immediate family member or husband. Women and men have been executed for practicing witchcraft and sorcery in the 21st century. A Filipino maid returned to the Philippines w/nails stuck in her arms via a nail gun wielded by her employer, her employer never faced any punishment whatsoever.

Your post (excellent) reminded me of something I saw in a report about a Muslim “no go zone” in Sweden. A group of reporters went in during the daytime and noted that the cafes were full of men, but there were no women to be seen anywhere. However, there was a notice posted on the street, placed there by the government. It advised women that if they were being beaten or abused, help was available and they should call the number provided.

I had to laugh. Any Muslim woman who did that should be prepared to escape from her home as well, otherwise she’d be at risk for another beating or perhaps even an honor killing. These people do not play by the rules of a civilized society, and never will. They should not be living among us.

Actually dogs are more predictable then humans at least from my experience.
The Japanese are an amazing culture but sadly they are capable of being ruthless as you stated. War in itself confuses me ihavent ever understood why as humans we need to control each other as we do. One could say resources are a good reason to fight. When in reality God made a perfectly abundant world with plenty for everybody. We have gone and destroyed that. Or we could say religion but in the end it doesn’t matter what someone else believes because God is the final judge. I personally don’t hold a person’s religious beliefs against them it’s when they infringe my rights that I begin to feel resentment and then I have problem with their doctrine.

Female Genitalia Mutilation……where they slice off the clitoris of each little girl so she will never know sexual pleasure……that’s reserved for only the men….women actually perform this horror in a ceremony with other women….sick, sick, sick….

And what’s the deal about throwing gays off of roofs and hanging them? Muslim men often rape little boys and teens…..one of our soldiers in Afghanistan got put out of the military because he stopped an old man from repeatedly raping a young boy he kept tied to his bed…… So you can’t have “gay” sex…but you can keep little boy sex slaves for your pleasure? These same billion and a half customers might also be interested in swords for beheading the filthy unbeliever in islum as well — as mandated by their filthy prophet for profit!

Israelis behave just like extremist Muslims. Why the double standard?

Have not seen any homosexuals hanging from cranes , on the Judea /Samaria skylines and there is some construction work being carried out. Or women stoned and flogged to death (even Israeli Arabs are discouraged from that) No dress code enforced. (apart from the Orthodox Jews ) No children being trained to kill Arabs in school. Quite a few dissimilarities between sophisticated humanity and those still struggling to evolve.

Don’t pat yourself on the back for using different tactics to accomplish the same hateful agenda.

Gee, Nike has invented a Balaclava helmet, how original. In only 13 months.
Popular with downhill skiers, terrorists and those who wish to be unidentifiable on closed circuit tv, this should be a real hit among the athletes, as it will ward off jihadi terrorist attacks at international events.
