Stunning. Obama said ISIS is on the run but his CIA Director says not.
CIA Director John Brennan, in a chilling warning on the Islamic State’s growing influence, told lawmakers Thursday that U.S.-led efforts to strike at the terror group have not hampered its “terrorism capability and global reach” – a message that stands in stark contrast to President Obama’s more upbeat assessment earlier this week.
Brennan, testifying in a rare open hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee, said ISIS likely will “intensify” terror attacks around the world even as its core fighters come under pressure in Iraq and Syria, including by deploying operatives for further attacks on the West.

(Video thanks to Christian)“The group is probably exploring a variety of means for infiltrating operatives into the West, including in refugee flows, smuggling routes, and legitimate methods of travel,” Brennan said.
Exactly what I have been warning of for well over a year.
The testimony offered unnerving context to Obama’s comments on Tuesday. The president said the anti-ISIS campaign “is firing on all cylinders” and the group “is under more pressure than ever before,” while conceding they’re gaining traction elsewhere. (FOX)
Brennan’s admissions are wild because has been stumping for Islam for years making this bagman for Obama a favorite of the scrubber-in-chief.

(CNN)ISIS can draw on a “large cadre of Western fighters” that could attack in the U.S. and the terror threat posed by the group remains as dangerous as ever despite efforts to crush it militarily, the director of the CIA said Thursday.
“Unfortunately, despite all our progress against ISIL on the battlefield and in the financial realm, our efforts have not reduced the group’s terrorism capability and global reach,” CIA Director John Brennan testified to Congress using another acronym for the group.[the_ad id=”79165″]
“The resources needed for terrorism are very modest, and the group would have to suffer even heavier losses of territory, manpower and money for its terrorist capacity to decline significantly,” Brennan added. “In fact, as the pressure mounts on ISIL, we judge that it will intensify its global terror campaign to maintain its dominance of the global terrorism agenda.”
Brennan warned that the group already is preparing more attacks, including by infiltrating refugees into western nations.
“We judge that ISIL is training and attempting to deploy operatives for further attacks,” he said. “ISIL has a large cadre of Western fighters who could potentially serve as operatives for attacks in the West. And the group is probably exploring a variety of means for infiltrating operatives into the West, including refugee flows, smuggling routes, and legitimate methods of travel.”
The CIA director, appearing just days after the massacre in Orlando that left 49 people dead, told the Senate Intelligence Committee that lone wolf attackers who are inspired by but not under the direct control of terror groups represent “an exceptionally challenging issue for the intelligence community.”
He confirmed that the Orlando shooter, Omar Mateen, had “no direct links” to ISIS but was inspired by the organization.
“We have not been able to uncover any direct link between that individual, Mateen, and a foreign terrorist organization. But that inspiration can lead someone to embark on this path of destruction,” Brennan said.
After telling the committee that Twitter, Telegram and Tumbler were ISIS’ preferred social media propaganda platforms, Brennan stressed the need for technology and communication companies to better collaborate with law enforcement, saying that encryption was allowing terrorist groups and their sympathizers to communicate clandestinely.
“They’re taking advantage of the liberties that we’ve fought so hard to defend,” he said.
The CIA director noted that ISIS has lost “large stretches” of territory in Iraq and Syria, has experienced a reduction of finances, and has struggled to replenish its ranks as fewer foreign fighters have been traveling to those countries.
But, he added, ISIS still has about 18,000-22,000 fighters in Iraq and Syria.
“We need to take away their safe haven,” he said noting that these areas provide ISIS with the ability to train its operatives and generate revenue.
Beyond the territory ISIS holds in Iraq and Syria, Brennan says the group’s growing presence in Libya presents another significant challenge.
“The branch in Libya is probably the most developed and the most dangerous,” Brennan said, echoing concerns by other security officials that Libya’s close proximity to Europe is a problem.
“We assess that it is trying to increase its influence in Africa and to plot attacks in the region and in Europe.”
Brennan said the “number of ISIS fighters far exceed what al Qaeda had at its height,” telling the committee that ISIS has between 5,000-8,000 fighters in Libya, in addition to 7,000 in Nigeria, and hundreds more in Egypt, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

The reason that U.S.-led efforts to strike at the terror group have not hampered its “terrorism capability and global reach” is because we are taking potshots at them here and there, but we have not wholeheartedly gone after them with full air assaults and then with ground forces for a final clean-up. The Mooslom in the White Hut is purposely pulling our punches when fighting ISIS.

Russia’s Vladimir Putin has openly stated that Obama is “only pretending” to fight ISIS. Knowledgable people have made clear that with a concerted military in Iraq and Syria, ISIS could be gone in a month – probably longer now that Obama has enabled to allow it to become more entrenched. If the Republicans were not such useless lot, Paul Ryan a weak-kneed ass leading the stupidity and cowardice, they would long ago have stopped the rot, but they are in collusion.

Drew, re your comments, yesterday I watched some real absurdities on the most disgusting pro-Obama propaganda tv station in North America. Time and again ‘experts’, security men and politicians came on and commented about the Muslim jihadi threat that is growing – also in the U.S. and some said so. In each case these ‘men’ were then asked (by Wolf Blitzer among others) to comment on Donald Trump’s desire to stop all Muslims entering the U.S. (“until we know what the hell is going on” regarding Muslim jihadi murders). Without exception these ‘geniuses’ parroted the same drivel that Trump’s idea ‘would make matters worse’ – but not one explained how stopping Muslims (jihadis among them) entering the U.S. “would make matters worse”. One man had worked for both Bush and Obama and yet also parroted this crap! The total lack of logic, lack of reason and completely brainless nonsense has be seen to be believe. It’s the ‘in thing’ to be stupid when not wishing to go against the politically correct and Obama ‘yapping’ trend even if it is severely endangering lives of Americans.

The fact is, Brennan is largely a fool! Anyone who has been following events over the last few years, has been reading Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer’s Jihad Watch, knows full well that ISIS, not just “probably” but definitely is “exploring a variety of means for infiltrating
operatives into the West, including in refugee flows, smuggling routes,
and legitimate methods of travel.” Goodness me, the frightening thing is that so belatedly Brennan reveals what should have been revealed many months ago. However, what he does not reveal is Barack Obama’s contribution to the formation of ISIS and deliberately half-hearted efforts to fight fight ISIS, let alone defeat it – which Obama is not trying to do.
