Obama’s “favorite” ally, Turkey’s President Erdogan, cites “Hitler’s Germany” as effective form of government

70

When Obama was asked which foreign leader was his favorite and “most trusted,” Obama said, “Erdogan.”

Is it any wonder that Hitler’s Mein Kampf is the number one selling book in Turkey?

“Turkey’s President Erdogan cites ‘Hitler’s Germany’ as example of an effective form of government,”  The Independent, December 2, 2015, (thanks to Tom):
Mr Erdogan defends push for his own position as president to be strengthened

Story continues below advertisement

Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has defended his push for a presidential system of government by citing “Hitler’s Germany” as an historic example.

The President has pushed ahead with efforts to increase the stature of his own position, despite fears it would split the country’s seat of power in two.

Mr Erdoğan cut short a state visit to Saudi Arabia after the death of prominent pro-government political journalist Hasan Karakaya, and in a press conference on his return to Turkey was asked if he thought a presidential system would be possible while maintaining the unitary structure of the state.
According to the T24 news portal, he replied: “Yes. There is nothing to say that you can’t have a presidential system in a unitary state.

“There are already some examples in the world today, and also some from the past. You see it when you look at Hitler’s Germany. Later you see the example again in various other counties.”

In November, Mr Erdoğan’s AKP party won a decisive victory in the Turkish parliamentary elections, cementing his grip on power.

[the_ad id=”72852″]

Despite his position theoretically making him above the country’s party politics, he clearly played a key role in AKP’s success and state broadcasters gave little airtime to any of his opponents.

He has previously suggested Turkey already operates under a de facto presidential system, and said his constitutional reforms would only “finalise” the change.

A senior Turkish official said that Mr Erdogan had meant to highlight Nazi Germany as an example of how not to implement such a system. “There are good and poor examples of presidential systems and the important thing is to put checks and balances in place,” the official told The Independent. “Nazi Germany, lacking proper institutional arrangements, was obviously one of the most disgraceful examples in history. That’s his point.”

Is it just another coincidence that Obama’s favorite ally has been supporting ISIS? Just when do all of these coincidences add up to treason?

Well, tell this to the worthless, gutless, stupid Republicans like Paul Ryan and a whole host of others. They’ve had all the ammunition to impeach and remove, and have done nothing. No wonder Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio cannot get traction. Ryan recently handed Obama more than a trillion dollars to weave his miserable web. What is wrong with this fool?

Senators like Rubio have had 7 years to undermine Obama and have proven a dead loss. It’s sickening and disheartening to see such lack of conviction about this disgusting president’s damaging and treasonous policies and actions, and the consequences for the country. My one wish for Trump is that he’d open his mind and talk to Robert Spencer and Pamela about Islam. If he did, he’d learn “what the hell is going on” from Muslims. In this regard Carly Fiorina is far better informed – even Lindsey Graham who I’ve written off as talking from both sides of his mouth.

Steve, if Fiorina pandered to Muslims while at HP and apparently while having good knowledge of Islam, and then seems prepared to silence free speech instead of coming down hard on Muslims making threats of violence in order to impose Sharia, then she is a bit of a fraud. The country needs a president who will make clear to Muslims that ‘the laws in place are the laws of the country, Sharia is out, you obey America’s laws and accept our way of life, or either you land up in jail or get kicked out of the country’. Carly’s ‘tough guy’ talk apparently is just an act that has been modified after seeing the favourable response to Trump following his making it clear that he will not put up with Islamic violence. This being the case I wouldn’t want her as president. You need someone who is uncompromising without being ‘pushed’ into being uncompromising and will say, ‘You do things our way or shove off’. If Fiorina is prepared to compromise in this era of Islamic resurgence instead of fighting back with the intention crushing Islamic efforts to impose their vile ideology, then she is a dead loss. Thanks for the link.

Steve, having now read Carly Fiorina’s speech I am astounding by her ignorance and the utter drivel it contains about the Ottoman Empire. Did she get this nonsense from some Islamic propaganda document? – or maybe from an article by that fool British ‘historian’, Karen Armstong! I can only assume she did. Even her dates of the Ottoman Empire are so way out that they immediate undermine the credibility of her ‘wondrous’ account of this brutal empire – 800 to 1600 she said.

In 800 AD the Seljuk Turks were only beginning to emerge from their nomadic existence in central Asia and flex their muscles. The Arab Muslims at that point history were the main Islamic force rampaging around, conquering, murdering and subjugating on a huge scale. At Manzikert in 1071 the Seljuk Turks first defeated the Byzantines. It was only in 1095 that Byzantine Emperor Alexios wrote to the Pope Urban II in Rome to ask for help against the Turks who were then invading his territory. The Crusaders then arrived in 1097 and beat the Turks at Nicaea and then Dorylaeum, then moved unimpeded by the Turks to Antioch that they eventually overran. It became one of the Crusader kingdoms – for the next 89 I believe.

If was only after the Crusader states began waning following the fairly successful Third Crusade under Richard the Lionheart in 1191 (largely because Europeans lost interest in maintaining a presence – that was costly to taxpayers), that the Ottoman Empire began growing. It invaded the Balkins in 1412 and was appalling cruel, thousands murdered, women raped and turned into sex slaves and girls placed in the Sultans concubines to produce the next Sultans. The Ottomans, after many attempts, in 1453 captured Constantinople, but that city that once had a population of about 1 million had been in decline for centuries and by 1453 was inhabited by only 50,000. Only 15,000 defenders fought against about 100,000 troops of Sultan Mehmed II. Mehmed II then made Constantinople his capital? Why? Because it was an amazingly advanced city even in its decline and better than anything the Ottomans had. As to inventions, many of these came from captured people living within the empire and Ottomans copied much of what existed in Europe. The army consisted to some extent of captured people, the Sultan’s elite troops were made up of ‘Christian’ boys. Each year one thousand of them were forcibly taken away permanently from their European families, converted to Islam, and turned into the Sultan elite guards and troops called the Janissaries.

The Ottoman Empire was a disgustingly brutal empire that began a slow decline after it’s defeat – with Suleiman the Magnificent then Sultan – outside Vienna in 1529. They were smashed by the Polish-Lithuanian Holy Alliance in 1673, about 42,000 Janissaries alone killed, and then in 1683 the Ottomans were utterly crushed outside Vienna by a Crusader army led by Poland’s King Jan Sobieski.

Even Carly’s account of Muslim mathematical achievement is mostly exaggerated and inaccurate. Yes they did contribute, but elements of mathematics began as far back as the Babylonians of Nebuchadnesser – 1125–1104 BC!!! The Greeks made contributions, and just exactly how it all developed is quite vague. The Byzantines obviously had knowledge of mathematics long before the Muslims made any contribution. If they had not, they could not have built and completed in 532AD the magnificent Hagia Sophia cathedral that to this day is an amazing landmark in Istanbul. So for Fiorina to make out that without Muslim contribution to mathematics we would not have computers is a disgusting ‘stretch’. It is drivel! For all we know it was Jews or Christians living within the Ottoman Empire who developed mathematics or made a major contribution to its development.

That the Ottomans created an advance empire is not up for debate. It was even quite tolerant of other religions, but it never ceased being utterly barbaric. Tens of thousands of east Europeans were murdered and raped, sometimes raped to death, by these disgusting savages while in 1683 their main army was attempting to over-run Vienna.

Fiorina now has zero credibility in my eyes. This speech was simply disgusting pandering to Muslims.

Honestly, I believe she was just playing the business end of things with HP but its a bad skeleton in the closet now. I think she is well-worded and can hold her own in a debate but the islamic pandering is hard to rationalize. If she did it once would she do it again with crunch time. The more i study about islam it just simply is amazing how war-like the culture has been since the 7th century. We have a world-wide problem worse perhaps than anything in our lifetimes that is getting worse by the days. Another good link if you don’t mind taking a look at is dr bill warren on the history of islamic violence. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=dr+bill+warner+why+we+are+afraid

Thanks for this. I viewed it some time ago, but can tell you that I am not afraid of Islam. I am afraid of gutless, spineless Western leaders who pander to a savage ideology and its pathetically ignorant and savage followers, and allow these worthless bastards into Western countries to sow discord and endless conflict, rape and murder.

The Ottomans were so impressed by Hagia Sophia they built mosques all over based upon it’s design. The Blue Mosque was built about a hundred years after the Ottomans conquered Constantinople in 1453 (921 years after Hagia Sophia was completed) and it is based upon Hagia Sophia.

They were not even all that brilliant at fighting, just for many years better organiized. Once the Europeans began forming Holy alliances and even though outnumbered they defeated Muslim armies.

You’ve brought up some interesting things i’m going to look into about the mosques-hagia sophia and about the fighters. I have noticed that the “bravest” terrorists tend to “gang up” and use mobs to effect. I remember how much bluster the saddam “mother of all wars” crew showed and how swiftly they lost. That isn’t the best example but it just shows how a lot of show can go.

Hagia Sophia was a Byzantine Greek Orthodox cathedral from 532AD to 1453AD. Sultan Mehmed II then turned it into a mosque which it remained till about 1932 when it became a museum.
Just remember when Colonel Gadaffi was fighting to save his rule, he told journalists that Muslims love death, but when cornered he came out of hiding, pleading “Don’t shoot”, but some other Muslim loved death, so shot him.

I’ve got hooked on an investigative-style History Channel special that’s looking into the rumors and NOW tangible facts of Nazis hiding and living in South America and U-boats that appeared on their coast days after the popular ‘fall’ of Berlin and all the pertinent proofs and ‘eye-witnesses’ that insist they saw Adolph Hitler after his government reported suicide.

I dunno, just this show has uncovered some amazing correlations. Check it out sometime, you might like it too.

To this day there are many “disappeareds.” Any place where there are Nazis and Muslims, there is horror.

They don’t. Liberals live desperately hoping to be liked, and they feel that by being nice to Muslims, Muslims will like them right back. The truth is, that Muslims hate everything liberal much more than they hate conservative ideas. Muslims consider everything associated with liberals (gays, lesbians, drug addiction, atheism, etc.), a reason to execute (after torture). Liberals are dumb and dumber.

I didn’t realize that! (Nazis in Indonesia). Certainly is food for thought.

I do believe that Obama is very pro-Islam, and highly narcissistic.

I also know that Obama had zero experience in foreign policy and (even worse) his #1 foreign policy adviser all along have been Rahm Emmanuel (a psychopathic nutso who is being investigated and asked to step down as Mayor of Chicago), and Ben Rhodes, who has zero experience in foreign policy. In fact, Ben Rhodes was an aspiring novelist and nothing more. He’s now implicated in being a cause of the Benghazi massacre. Oh, and both Rahmy and Benny HATE Israel with an unbridled passion.

I think this is very sad because Mr. Erdogan most likely wishes that his country had enlisted on the side of the Axis powers during World War II instead of sending them resources until the war began to go against the European Axis partners in 1943. I am sure President Obama loves the dictatorial powers the Turkish putz has and would love to emulate the man here in our country. Thank God the Constitution has restrained him thus far. Still, we have 365 days to go plus a few and I am surprised he has not launched a coup yet.

Turkey must be becoming an “enlightened” Progressive country, after all Progressives just loved Hitler.
H.G. Wells stated he wanted to, “assist in a kind of phoenix rebirth” of liberalism as an “enlightened Nazism.”

NAACP co-founder W. E. B. DuBois saw National Socialism as a worthy model for economic organization. The establishment of the Nazi dictatorship in Germany, he wrote, had been “absolutely necessary to get the state in order.” In 1937 DuBois stated: “there is today, in some respects, more democracy in Germany than there has been in years past.”

New Republic editor George Soule, who avidly supported FDR, noted approvingly that the Roosevelt administration was “trying out the economics of fascism.”
