No, we did not forget Joshuah and the 5 kings, as well as the Maccabees. The problem is the new 6th King and I’m afraid if we go all out he will not replenish the spent munitions as happened last year following Gaza. Weeks went by before he sent Hellfire missiles for the air force.
The above site of the Biblical battles is now the home of Israel’s Tank Museum and memorial to the Armor Corps. The Iranians may be on the border but they don’t have the tanks. If they try they will be smitten like what we overcame in 1973.

The numbers would be a bit different if you were offering percentages by population numbers . And it is true , you cannot have been murdered by a firearm if the sneaky little boogers were all safely melted down . OK. America has 318 million people. UK has 61 million. so the USA has around 5 times more people. UK has 500 murders, x 5 = 3 000. So if the UK was the size of the USA, there would be 3000 murders. In the USA there were 12,644 murders. Basic maths tells us that even IF the two countries were similar population size, there would STILL be 4 times more murders in America than the UK, two thirds of which are caused by firearms. Do you not think that perhaps there may be a link between the two?
On average, in the USA, there are 33 gun homicides every day. There are 3 deaths an hour from firearm related incidents.
In the first seven years of the U.S.-Iraq War, over 4,400 American soldiers were killed. Almost as many civilians are killed with guns in the U.S., every seven weeks.

I have had to deal with homosexuals I have even been in a position where I had to arrest some I treated all with respect. But now it has gotten to the point where to be left alone is not enough. I hope not. I was raised Catholic and most Catholics I know are great people and all about social justice. The nuns are also very dedicated. Perhaps in another thousand years the church hierarchy will realize they, as mostly gay men, are not qualified to advise their heterosexual members on marriage and child-rearing… I won’t hold my breath, though. Sandra – wouldn’t you agree that there are plenty of florists and bakeries that would happily their services to same sex couples? I think forcing an overtly Christian-based business to do that is just sour grapes, and it’s meant to put the screws to someone. I mean seriously – businesses specialize in what’s provided. For example, if a person walks into a women’s dress store looking for men’s clothes, that store obviously won’t have men’s clothes. Does that mean the women’s dress store is discriminating against men? And should that person go running to the media to report discrimination? No – unless that person is trying to make an issue where there isn’t one. Conversely, would a person go to a kosher butcher shop expecting to purchase bacon? Should that person then get all po’d when that shop doesn’t sell bacon and carry on to the media about “discrimination”? This is just silly. There are a million examples like these two. We all get the choice to shop where services and goods are provided for what we want.

The flaw in that logic is that men can still buy women’s clothes in the store. The shopkeeper doesn’t tell the man he can’t buy women’s clothes because he’s a man. Also gay people buy the same things as straight people, so the shop DOES cater for both. It’s a refusal by the owner to serve a gay person, rather than the product being unavailable

Sorry. I am conservative myself on many issues and shouldn’t be using the broad brush. I just get worked up when I think people would turn me a way from a business because of the person I choose to spend my life with. It hasn’t happened to me in a long time, but when I was younger it did happen a couple of times and it was very disheartening. I try to treat everyone I meet in a courteous manner, until they give me reason to behave differently.

I forgot to mention this – it sure seems to me that the media has to stir up controversy. It’s meant to keep the journalist in the news and get his ratings up. I just find so much of their bs just that – bs. We all live on this planet together. I’m a Christian, but I’ve chosen not to judge anyone. That’s just the way I see it. Ok – I need to correct myself. I’m NOT okay with what’s happening regarding Islam and Islamists. I would love for ALL Muslims to see their religion for what it is, and do something about it to take away the violence that is inherent to Islam. How about if we had a domestic partnership ceremony? Would you come to that? Is it just the marriage moniker that you find wrong? Frankly, at our age fornication is not our main activity. We do a lot of gardening, cleaning the pool, decorating, cooking, entertaining and of course work in our professions.
Most gays I know would have settled for civil unions as long as they got the same tax and pension benefits as everyone else, but the religious nuts blocked those. Every time the religious nuts fight the gays they lose (we are and have friends in high places – including Heaven). Perhaps you need new leadership. Why do you wish to make our lives difficult?
We won’t stop loving each other, even if you have us arrested and executed. But next time you start whining about gays being angry and hating Christians remember the lines from the Merchant of Venice – change Jew to gay and you have this:

Believe it or not, while I am fine with marriage equality, I think children should be created and raised by their biological parents, which is why I never had kids even though my parents encouraged me to go to the sperm bank. I just don’t think that would be fair to the kids. Many of my gay friends disagree with me on this. I guess we will see, when all these test tube, sperm bank, surrogate babies grow up. I guess I am just old fashioned.

Honestly, the raising of children is my main objection, actually my only one (although the behavior of some is beyond disgusting, I have to admit that’s not something I’m spared by all heterosexuals, I’ve known some disgusting specimens on both sides of that fence). Parenting is one of the main pillars of civilization. Out of curiosity, why is it so important to you to go through the ceremony, when marriage is mostly a contract to raise children? There are tax, pension and other benefits that go with marriage. For example, married couples can gift one another an unlimited amount with no gift tax. If a gay person gifts his unmarried partner an amount in excess of the gift tax exclusion, they are taxed at punitive rates. When unmarried gay partners have a successful business they want to pass at death, this can be a big problem. Read the Windsor case, the IRS wanted an extra $300k from 70 year old Edie Windsor, just for her to keep the properties they had acquired together. There are over 1000 federal and state benefits based on marital status. Talk about special rights for some. That is why I think marriage equality is important unless they eliminate different treatment based on marital status.
As for kids, that is a different matter entirely. I have no problem with society encouraging men and women to stay together and raise their kids. Arguably, that is what marriage was originally intended to do, but straight childless married couples and older straight couples who marry after they are past child bearing age get all the special benefits, so why shouldn’t gays? Gays are such a small percentage of the population, yet the religious extremist want to blame the breakdown of family and society on us. Instead, I think they should lay the blame where it belongs, on the welfare state that has encouraged so many out of wedlock births and the overall uncivil and uncouth behavior that is reflected in mass media.
Frankly, there are some gays that make me very uncomfortable and grossed out, just as there are some uncouth straights I find disgusting. I just wish we could come together for the good of the country, because we need to deal with islamofascism, rebuilding our manufacturing base, and getting our govt under control.

By standing behind him, we greatly increase the chance of getting a real treaty that works. What’s the real goal here, Peace or War? If O comes back with a bad deal, then I’m with you to stand against, but everything they’ve said a treaty would require would be a win for us all. Every day we are getting closer to when the final battle will be fought against Israel. Truly, it is unmistakeable that the time is coming! Ezekiel 38-39 is fast upon us. Ezekiel 37 has already happened (the gathering of the dry bones – Israel became a nation in 1948.)
But, per the Bible regarding preparation for the final battle, the whole world will rise up against Israel. And the Jewish people will be gathered back to their land because of it – so that the whole world will know who God is (Ez. 38:23.) Look at what is going on all over the world. Jewish people are afraid to stay in the nations where anti-Semitism is rife. And that is happening EVERYWHERE. There is a re-gathering of the Jewish people from among the lands where they reside. Then the armies will rise up against Israel – Russia (“the chief prince”), Iran, Turkey, Libya, Ethiopia, along with the armies of south-eastern Europe. God will bring them together – “I will put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords”, (Ez. 38:4.) The attack will come from the north. (Ez. 39:2.) These people/armies think they will destroy Israel, but GOD will destroy THEM!! (Ez. 39:1-9) It will take 7 months to clear the dead of Israel’s enemies from the battlefields.(Ez. 39:14) People will be employed only for that reason – to bury the dead. And it will take 7 years for the people of Israel to get rid of the weapons of the dead. (Ez. 39:9) Why all this? It’s common knowledge that Iran has been trying to open a terrorist front in Syria, which is on the border with Israel. They would LOVE to get on the Golan Heights and start shooting down on Israeli citizens once again. Israel’s defense minister, Moshe Ya’alon just gave a report on this two days ago.
