DEFENDING THE WEST
Astonishing contrast: U.S. youth vs. Israeli youth
Exclusive: Pamela Geller examines insight of teens who voted for Prime Minister Netanyahu

Story continues below advertisement

Stunned by defeat and still licking its considerable wounds in the wake of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upset landslide re-election, the radical left, anti-Zionist Haaretz has published a lengthy article on the group most responsible for Netanyahu’s win: the young.

It is a striking piece.

Haaretz summed it up this way: Israel’s youth voted in overwhelming numbers for Netanyahu because of “security, security, security – and distrust of Arabs [that is, Muslims], the left and media.”

In the United States of America, this very group delivered a fraud, a liar and America-hater into the Oval Office, not once but twice. Despite joblessness, nationalized mandatory health care that they must pay for, the explosion of jihad, Benghazi, American youth (the poo generation) without thought or consideration elected the most anti-American and dangerous president in American history.

American youth have been systematically misled and misinformed about the grave threats we face. The public school system has long since moved away from teaching the three Rs. Instead, it’s inculcation and dogma. Critical thinking, once fundamental to American education, is discouraged, punished even. Junk science, environmentalism and other such nonsense have replaced the essentials.

Israel’s youth have no such illusions. They live with the threat of annihilation. Genocide against their people, their name, are ululated over and over again by their surrounding neighbors.

What a breath of fresh air to listen to these young Israelis explain why they voted for Netanyahu and reject the fascist hippie elders. I am enormously impressed with how articulate and well-informed these young people are.

Similar interviews in the states are almost embarrassing to listen to. Young people who supported Obama sounded like idiots voting for their favorite contestant on “American Idol.”

Pamela Geller’s commitment to freedom from jihad and Shariah shines forth in her books – featured at the WND Superstore

Nineteen-year-old Linoy Aharon, who is at present doing national service, explained: “I voted for the first time, choosing Likud since he [Netanyahu] is the most worthy person to lead the country at present. Herzog is unworthy of leading – he would create a leftist government together with the [Arab] Joint List; in addition, he wouldn’t hold up to international pressure by Obama and others with regard to an agreement with the Palestinians. He might divide the country and we’ve seen what happened every time Israel conceded territory in exchange for ‘peace’ – the area becomes a Hamas terror center.”

That is absolutely true, and amazing that a 19-year-old would know it, since the international media, the U.N., Obama and the Israeli left have done all they could for years to obscure it. And despite the Obama-led smear campaign against Netanyahu, Aharon added: “Netanyahu is a judicious and experienced person who knows his job. He doesn’t buckle under international pressure and knows how to stand up for this country’s principles when the world creates difficulties for us. I saw the opinion polls which indicated that there would be a tight race between Netanyahu and Herzog, so I voted Likud, since a right-wing government needs people’s support in order to overcome any leftist government, which would have brought about a disaster. I’m glad the right won and hope for a better future for this country.”

Eighteen-year-old Elina Rabinovich said: “I voted for Likud wholeheartedly yesterday. Israel is not Switzerland – we’re always surrounded, always attacked and I don’t think the situation can ever be perfect and rosy, not even close to it. That’s why I knew I would vote for the rightist bloc.”

Valeria Petrova, 17, also spoke about voting because of concern for Israel’s security: “Why would I choose Likud? I wanted to put my trust in a party that considers security as the foremost issue, a party that promises not to divide Jerusalem and ensures that the Iranian threat is removed. I don’t succumb to cheap slogans made by expensive consultants, but really believe we must maintain an undivided country, especially after all we went through to attain it.” She added: “And beyond that? Let’s break the stigma attached to rightists. It’s not that the cost of living isn’t painful for me. It’s not that I don’t see the poor. It’s not that I’m a meat-eating chauvinist who doesn’t care about social issues. But if we don’t even have a state, how will we worry about the other issues?”

Shlomi Suliman, 18, said: “I decided to vote Likud since that is what I grew up with at home. Every family member I asked said: “Bibi.” As a right wing supporter I decided to vote Likud since the party embraces all my beliefs, opinions and values. Likud is the only party that can protect Israel, in my view. I couldn’t vote for a left-wing party with a name not connected to Zionism.” Likewise Rinat Nisanov, 22, who added: “I support Likud since Bibi is a responsible leader who loves the people of Israel. Security issues are the most important issues now.”

The young people in Israel saved that country.

The young people in America set us on the path to ruin.

American students are ignorant of world events. They are being fed leftist liberal garbage from their professors, their news from Jon Stewart, and BDS propaganda.

American students are protected by two oceans and have the luxury of ignorance in a way Israeli students probably can’t even imagine. It’s not world events to the latter – it’s next door, or their back yard.

Unlike some, I don’t believe the illusion of safety is safety. I am, however, suggesting that without reality mugging them every day, Israeli youth might indulge in such fantasies too. Reality intervenes for them in a way it does not for American youth.

Hate to say it but you are correct! Right now we’re pretty stupid. I think a lot of current “jihadist” activity is disguised as standard street crime, or is pawned off as a pending “race war”. The powers that be will call it anything but “jihad”. Americans are slow. Pearl Harbor got bombed, it took some time to get to The Coral Sea and MidWay. Once we get rolling however, things take on a whole new meaning. There’s an advantage in our procrastination. It gives us time to feel the pain and fully digest the fact that no matter what we do/don’t do, these nuts are coming to kill us! When we do move, no one will doubt our purpose, and they will feel the full weight of our anger!
In the mean time, we do however need to get rid of the muzzy agents in our midist.

They, the American students, are wise in other ways.
Just ask them about Burgers, Ball games, Booze, Boycotts, Bieber and ‘Bama.

Where are the parents of these moronic American students? Self hating Jews? Feeling guilty about living in a secure environment where they don’t have to worry about rockets falling on their houses? I would like to send all anti-Israel American Jews somewhere … preferably in a cattle train for a realistic experience.

Very inspiring to see how smart these young Israelis are and how dedicated to Israel they are. Netanyahu has substance, wisdom, experience and will come through. These young Israelis know he loves them and will protect them and Israel.

Young people, and not just students, centre on left wing ideals and have a different view of the world being sheltered as they are from much of the world’s evil, corruption and aggression. They are also targeted into accepting left wing views on immigration, racism and into think dominant government control is a good thing. It is hoped that as they develop their politics swing more realistically to those of their parents and others who have experienced life. If youngsters remained in their naive state into their adulthood we could be in for a huge shift where nationalism is prohibited as being racist and elitist and similar to what the EU are proposing in our time.

Good comments. What I worry about is our young people will be the discontented unemployed with socialist and anti US ideals. That makes a dangerous combination. That leads to civil unrest to redistrubute wealth/ownership, demands for more free stuff and even fewer families. The 1960s were awful, and created the propaganda and poltics of today. What a mess……….

There are too many to count. Six years ago I thought a community organizer planned block parties and helped people in the neighborhood. I found out quickly that they are really community agitators who use people and events to cause chaos.

Lia, it is pretty sad and scary and similar to what happened in Nazi Germany with the propaganda and indoctrination and the many who pretended not to notice what was happening.

Dear sodacrackers, I am so old that when I did history at school our syllabus stopped before WW1 (events older than 50 years were not considered history … not yet), but I grew up towards the end of WWII and when, later, I began to read about it on my own, I wondered at the Germans, who ‘did not know what was happening’ to the Jews and the many others and I wondered how that could possibly have happened. Now it makes me feel ill to see it all happening again ,,, and in the USA (the country of the free) and in Europe (which has been through all this before).

Lia, last year we visited Nurenberg and saw some of the camps. They read a letter to us that had been sent by a neighbor asking that if they must do such horrible things to the people in the camp, could they keep it away from her back yard as it was distressing her.
They talked about the bureaucrats who rounded the people up and thought of it as their duty.

God is good all the time; this I know for sure!

Perhaps it’s those who went before the American youth who fed them to the wolves by allowing them to be indoctrinated, by accepting funds from dubious parties and championing political correctness.
Perhaps the blame is not only the youth’s.

Let’s think, What a great thought. We don’t grow up independent of what we are exposed to. In America kids are exposed to many ideas and told this is the way the world is. Example: Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic. Are you F@!#ing joking me? Why Arabic? Should have been a Native American Language, or something useful like Spanish. Oh yeah? Lets all have our kids learn Arabic so they can memorize the Koran, now that’s a great idea!!!!

There is “religious” Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, and local dialects of Arabic. NONE of which are mutually intelligible; in fact, a Mohammedan has to spend ten years of classes just to learn how to RECITE the Qur’an. Modern Standard Arabic has to be formally taught, and then one must learn local dialects to converse with “Arabic” speakers from different areas of the Mohammedan world. It’s the second most difficult communication medium on the planet (Chines is the most difficult).

I can hardly describe the feeling of happiness and relief we Israelis are feeling these days, after the threat of a radical left wing government led by Herzog has been lifted off out heads. For years now we have been subjected to the most aggressive campaign, aimed at convincing us that Netanyahu is an evil and corrupt leader, and that we all should be ashamed of ourselves for supporting him. We have been told repeatedly that he is no longer popular, and that he is about to lose the elections. It has reached a point in which people were embarrassed to admit that they were Likud supporters, and that they still believe in Israel’s right to exist. Just imagine how amazed we felt to discover that it was all a carefully planned mirage, and that all the opinion polls which were published prior to the elections were false.

Today I feel proud of my country and people, for not bowing their heads before Islamic terrorism and a bitter campaign of international de-legitimazation.
Long live Israel!

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing that.

Listen, the Obama-Jarrett-Soros team are not finished yet, and Obama is furious (think Haman) that his plan and all that money didn’t work. Stand strong and continue to support a strong nationalist coalition. Bibi will be under tremendous pressure as Obama works hard to dismantle American support for a Israel.

What do you think of Dr. Khadar’s idea of getting rid of Hamascand the PA and creating clan-run emirates, with Israel still in charge of security?

The leftists are doing the same here in America. The press would have us believe that 2 out of 3 prefer a deal with Iran. That is insane to trust the people who have done nothing but lie to us and sneak things through without anyone’s knowledge for the last six years. What happens when liars get together for a deal? You can bet it won’t be good for anybody except the liars.

Israel is like a small town. Everyone knows what goes on, whether it is in Ber Sheva or on the Golan Heights. Obama wants to force the country back into the Auschwitz borders of pre 67 so it would give his muslims a better chance to complete Hitler’s mission. The so called youth can see what is going on and they voted for a future rather than the gas chambers.

Hitler’s ideas of racial purity came from several philosophies. Eugenics was an American idea practiced buy our agricultural industry and many philosiphers from that era, Freud, Weber and wealthy financiers Ford, Carnige etc. The “ABC” American Birth Control Society, now known as Planned Parenhood(maggie spangler), still exist. We need to stomp out these ideas wherever they raise their heads. But to answer your question, the Nazi thing was going on it’s own. Hitler befriended the mudslimes because they hated the Jews as much as he did. The nazis were steered by hitler’s ideas. Pislam is steered by mad mo’s insane dilusions. They had a common obsession.

I always wondered how “Aryans”, from Iran/India got twisted to be the beginings of the “Germanic” race? Ain’t they silly? Racisim is like that. The harder you look, the stupider it gets…..

Thanks for the info rabrooks.

Yes, the whole Aryan / Iran thing makes me think that the Iranians gave the Germans this idea of Aryanism. Maybe Muslims were sneaking into Germany / Austria looking for the perfect loon to advance their cause, and the racial purity thing was a good subect to start with. Who knows.

Islam is better than other religions. If you’re against a certain population, do not attack all followers of the religion. I support that you are against terrorism, but making fun of the Prophet Muhammad is a hurtful attack against all Muslim people. You’re attacking thousands of innocent Muslim people.. And if you think that this is freedom, then I have freedom to hate and berate you, Pamela Geller.

Environmentalism and global warming (here referred to as “junk science”) are highly important and vital studies. Nevertheless I support the general thrust of this article. Israel has every right to defend itself to the fullest possible extent, and I fully support Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu–He is one of the clearest, best thinkers on topics vital to the Western democracies and Israel. Islamofascism is the most deadly instance of fascism to arise since the death of the Nazi regime in Europe. Islamofascism is an ongoing emergency that absolutely must be stopped, in the Middle East and in every other region and nation.
