Thug Siege: NYPD Tells Cadets Not to Wear Uniforms or Any NYPD Clothing in Public.

New York City police officials have advised academy trainees not wear their uniforms in public, or any other clothing associating them with the NYPD. That’s how bad things are. Think about that.

Here’s where we are in de Blasio’s New York (and Obama’s America). It’s open season on the police, thanks to the “progressive” elites. Open season on cops means anarchy. The cops represent law and order. The cops are our first and last line of defense.

NY’s cowardly Mayor de Blasio is lashing out at the press corps for his failures (following in Obama’s failed footsteps), trying to cover up his very public divisions with his own police commissioner.

De Blasio must resign. He has lost the faith of the people. He has lost the support of the NYPD.

The bad blood between the NYPD and de Blasio is nothing new – it dates back to an election campaign centered on de Blasio’s withering criticism of the Bloomberg administration’s stop-and-frisk policy, and his close alliance with the Rev. Al Sharpton, who has organized scores of protests targeting cops over their behavior toward urban blacks.

According to a former de Blasio aide, during the general election campaign in 2013, de Blasio’s team was even convinced that members of his police detail were eavesdropping on his private conversations in his city-assigned car…….more

De Blasio is setting the stage for complete and utter chaos.

“NYPD Boosts Security Measures, Tells Cadets Not to Wear Uniforms”

The New York Police Department is escalating security measures, telling academy trainees not to wear their uniforms or any other NYPD clothing in public.

This recommendation, which follows the deadly shootings of two NYPD officers Saturday, is an effort to avoid copycat attempts, according to ABC’s Good Morning America.

Officials told the outlet this morning that the move is a “common-sense precautionary step,” as the cadets wearing the uniforms are unarmed.

“It doesn’t matter who is wearing the uniform. It’s the uniform itself [that] is the target,” former NYPD Detective Sgt. Joe Giacalone told ABC. “The police department, because it’s under siege, has to worry about protecting their own lives first.”

The department is extending the recommendation beyond its own, advising even those not on the force to stow NYPD gear for the time being to avoid mistaken association.

“I don’t want anybody taking a potshot,” Giacalone said, pointing to his father who wears an NYPD baseball hat in support of his son’s work.

The NYPD is currently investigating more than 15 threats against officers on social media to determine credibility, according to CNN.

This coupled with the previous shootings spurred the NYPD to take all of its unarmed auxiliary officers off duty until further notice.

Further, every foot patrol is to work in pairs, according to ABC.
