Ask BB: Where to Buy Cute and Cheap Bathing Suits

Any good suggestions on bathing suit shopping? A tad early but I am planning a vacation! @katiestars

Here are a couple places to shop for suits that you can actually swim in and some suits that will just look good while you're lounging and soaking up some rays:

Old Navy has a bunch of swimsuits in stores now including colorful bikinis, tankinis and one-piece suits. I'm in love with this red two-piece, the print is just perfect:

I saw Target roll out their swimwear weeks ago (I believe it was snowing the day I noticed this). They have a bunch of spring-break styles as well as maternity and plus-size (so does OldNavy.com).

Yesterday while out shopping, I saw a bunch of cheap bikinis at both Forever 21 and H&M in fun, fresh prints. Act fast, these styles are selling out fast and while they may be restocked, they never stay on the racks for long.

I get the DownEast Basics catalog in the mail and noticed they have some supercute swimsuits under $40 that offer a little more coverage. Adorable!

The affordable online boutique Ruche recently launching swimwear on their site and while the current selection is limited, I expect to see more great styles in the days to come.

If you're looking for a designer swimsuit, The Outnet actually has some great deals. The Tibi bikini below, for example, is just $38.80 for the top and $39.60 for the bottom. Again, act fast if you see something you love because the deals on The Outnet don't last long.

If you like to try suits on in person (which I do), then check out Marshalls and TJ Maxx - both offer a great selection of suits, you just have to dig a little!

I grew up shopping for swim suits at Dillards. I tried on a target suit recently and the quality was just so ick that when I found 2 awesome suits by Calvin Klein at Ross, I snatched them up!

I have found that the most affordable, best fitting bathing suits are a Victoria's Secret! I can't imagine paying $40 for one piece of a bathing suit. If you go to the clearance section you can get a top and bottom for under $10 each. I love the look of the double tie bottoms... Super flattering and it stays put. I have tried Old Navy bathing suits, but they fade, pill, and just don't fit the same way. The bottoms are too low cut, or shift around when you're walking. VS is the only way to go!

I agree with Joanna, you're actually a month/month and a half late! Victoria's Secret has a huge swimsuit sale in Jan/Feb of 'last year's styles' which are super cute & many classics. Plus instead of the usual $20+ per piece, I got 2 full bikinis for under $40! make sure to act fast as sizes & colors sell out!

Any suggestions on where to find high waisted swim suit bottoms?

Again, I would say VS on the high-waisted swimsuit bottoms.

Another great site is ideeli, www.ideeli.com/invite/joanna12345. It's like a Ross, TJ Maxx, or Marshall's online... But better! Designer brands, cheap prices.

Try Urban Outfitters, Shabby Apple, ModCloth, Boden or J.Crew, all have high-waist bottoms as well as other retro style swimsuits.
